The announcer's voice rang out clearly over the speakers, describing the unfolding battle with precision and energy.

"Gardevoir starts with Dazzling Gleam! It follows up with Draining Kiss and finishes with a perfectly executed Magical Leaf combo! What a spectacular performance! Mr. Mi has fallen! Gardevoir's relentless attacks were too much to withstand!"

The crowd erupted into applause, marvelling at the thrilling battle they had just witnessed.

Gardevoir had erged victorious after a gruelling exchange of over a dozen moves, showcasing its superior skill and strategy.

Lying unconscious on the battlefield, the Mr. Mi bore only a few scratches, a testant to its resilience despite the defeat. Outside the arena, murmurs of amazent filled the air, but for Giselle, her face pale and her fingers trembling, those cheers sounded like mockery.

She clenched her fists. 'How could this happen?! I am the genius!!'

She had never expected her most trusted and powerful Pokémon, Mr. Mi, to lose so decisively.

From her first days at the Pokémon Academy to her ascent as one of the school's top trainers, her journey had always been smooth. This was the first ti she found herself in such a dire situation.

The referee's voice broke her reverie, reminding her to recall her fallen Pokémon. Swallowing her pride, Giselle returned Mr. Mi to its Poké Ball.

'What now?' Gritting her teeth, she hesitated before sending out her final Pokémon. The Poké Ball burst open, revealing a Scyther, its twin blades gleaming under the stadium lights.

The crowd's reaction was muted. So even murmured their disappointnt.

"Oh, it's just a Scyther," the announcer noted, barely masking his disinterest. "Still, considering Giselle's reputation, she must have confidence in its abilities!"

On the other side of the battlefield, Kai, unfazed, recalled Gardevoir. As per his strategy, he chose to send out his Jolteon.

From the first exchange of blows, it beca clear to Kai that Scyther, while formidable, lacked the finesse and power of Giselle's Mr. Mi. 'So, she's out of options.'

Electric sparks crackled through the air as Jolteon's Thunderbolt clashed with Scyther's frantic Slash attacks.

Though Scyther fought valiantly, Jolteon's type advantage and relentless speed turned the tide of the battle.

After enduring several devastating Electric-type moves, Scyther staggered and collapsed, fainting on the spot.

The referee raised his flag. "Scyther is unable to battle! The winner is Kai!"

The announcer's voice soared once more. "Another flawless 3-0 victory! Even against a top contender like Giselle, Kai has proven unstoppable! Who can end his winning streak?"

Giselle stood frozen on the battlefield, her shoulders trembling. Tears welled up in her eyes as the reality of her defeat sank in.

As a proud prodigy of the Pokémon Academy, she had promised herself she wouldn't cry but the sting of this loss proved too much.

Watching her, Kai hesitated. After a mont's thought, he approached her and spoke calmly.

"Giselle, I understand how you feel. But if you want to beco stronger, staying in the comfort of the academy won't be enough."

She looked up at him, her expression a mix of frustration and curiosity.

"You need to explore the world," Kai continued. "Broaden your horizons, face more challenges, and battle stronger opponents. Only then will you truly grow as a trainer."

Giselle took a deep breath, wiping her eyes. "Thank you for your advice. I accept my loss today, but I won't let it end here. I'll go on a journey, just as you said. And when I return, I'll defeat you."

Kai smiled. "I'll be waiting for your challenge."

With that, he turned and waved to the cheering audience, recalling Jolteon before walking off toward the contestant's exit.

This victory had secured him a spot in the tournant's top 32, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of pride at his progress.

anwhile, in the control centre of the Indigo Plateau stadium, the tournant's director, John, monitored the ratings with intense focus.

Although viewership had dipped slightly after the battle's climax, the match had drawn significant attention.

John turned to his team. "Increase the spotlight on this player. Schedule his matches during pri ti and promote them heavily. Make sure there are more caras on his battles."

"But sir," a staff mber interjected nervously, "the matchups and venues are determined by the system. We can't—"

"Then manipulate the system!" John snapped. "Do I have to repeat myself? Get it done!"

The staff scrambled to comply while standing silently behind them was President Charles Goodshow.

Though he didn't condone such tactics openly, he understood the importance of maintaining the Pokémon League's excitent and ratings.

An exceptional trainer like Kai was a boon to the tournant, and as long as it benefited the League, Goodshow saw no reason to interfere.
