It had to be said—Hans was showing a lot of sincerity with the three Water-type Pokémon he brought.
Through his system's thorough scanning abilities, Sato instantly knew exactly which Pokémon were in the three Net Balls.
Inside were none other than the Water-type starters from the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn regions—Squirtle, Totodile, and Mudkip.
Based on the current stats of these three Water-types, they seed to have solid potential.
While they didn't quite reach the caliber of Sasaki Alice's Charleon Sato had encountered before, they were still above average in quality.
Here's a summary of the three Water-types:

Based on their stats alone, all three Water-type starters were excellent, each with unique inherited moves. Mudkip was particularly notable for its rare hidden ability, Damp.
Of course, stats only provided a partial glimpse into each Pokémon's potential. To fully assess their quality, Sato knew he'd have to see them in action firsthand.
For Sato, the personality of the Pokémon mattered even more than their stats. If any of these three Water-type starters weren't suited for battle, he wouldn't consider keeping them.
With Hans' permission, Sato quickly released the three Pokémon from the Net Balls on the table.
Three beams of white light shot out, materializing Squirtle, Totodile, and Mudkip on the ground. Golbat, who had been perched above, flew down and landed on Sato's shoulder, glaring intently at the three Water-type starters.
In terms of physical developnt, Totodile was the most well-built and had the fiercest personality.
The mont it appeared, it began snapping its jaws at Sato and Hans, looking quite angry. Were it not for Golbat's watchful gaze, it might have already charged at the two of them.
Squirtle, on the other hand, seed the least developed. It appeared to be quite timid, retreating into its shell imdiately and peeking out cautiously.
Mudkip's developnt was average, but its deanor was distinct. It simply sat on the ground, appearing motionless and a bit dazed, with a strand of mucus hanging from its nose.
However, Sato noticed that, despite its dull expression, Mudkip's eyes occasionally darted to Golbat, and its posture suggested it was ready for action at any mont.
"Interesting—looks clueless, but there's a sharp mind in there," Sato thought, narrowing his eyes as he assessed Mudkip.
Hans, noticing Sato's hesitation, spoke up, "These three are rare Water-type starters. They're quite hard to catch in the wild, as you know."
Understanding the implication in Hans' words, Sato smiled and replied, "Of course, I know that. They're all great Pokémon. But I'm particularly interested in Mudkip. May I have it?"
"No problem! But I'd advise you to consider Totodile instead," Hans responded, raising an eyebrow. "It's got a feisty spirit and a strong build—a real fighter."
"Thank you for the advice, but I'll stick with Mudkip," Sato replied, smiling.
"Alright then, if that's your choice," Hans sighed, respecting Sato's decision. He returned Squirtle and Totodile to their Net Balls and handed Mudkip's ball to Sato.
With the exchange complete, Hans excused himself, and Sato saw him out, even giving him a few bottles of fine beer as a parting gift.
As Sato was about to close the door, Hans suddenly turned back. "Oh, almost forgot. The head sailor wanted to let you know that a big-ti client will be hosting a casual Pokémon competition tomorrow. To avoid any trouble, they'd like you to serve as the event's dical staff."
"? As a dic?" Sato chuckled. "Honestly, I'd rather compete myself. The prizes for a sponsor-backed event must be good, right?"
Hans grinned, scratching his head. "Not bad at all. If I weren't working, I'd be in there too. The winner's supposed to get a rare Mystic Water—sothing I've been eyeing forever."
Hans continued to nudge Sato into agreeing, knowing he was just a part-ti Pokémon dic.
"Alright, alright, I'll do it," Sato replied, conceding with a laugh. "No wonder so many people have been coming to today."
With a quick "bang," Sato closed the door.
"Alright, the coast is clear. I know you're smarter than you look, so you don't have to pretend around anymore. Don't worry, Golbat won't hurt you. We're partners now," Sato said, kneeling down and smiling at Mudkip, who still wore its blank, clueless expression.
