As soon as Golbat appeared, the powerful gusts generated by the wide flapping of its wings swept across the battlefield, causing many spectators near the arena to clutch their skirts and widen their eyes.

"Boom!"

At the sa ti, Combusken grew visibly excited upon seeing an opponent that seed to match its strength. The flas enveloping its body flared intensely, fueled by its surging battle spirit.

Seeing both trainers ready, the referee imdiately announced the start of the battle. In an instant, a scorching orange pillar of fire erupted from Combusken's mouth, shooting straight at the airborne Golbat.

Golbat, ever vigilant of its fiery opponent below, swiftly flapped its wings and shifted sideways to avoid the linear Flathrower attack with ease.

"Change tactics! Don't let it escape so easily!"

Heiya Heiji's commanding words made Sato's eyes narrow in concentration. The mont Heiji gave the order, Combusken, exhibiting incredible synergy with its trainer, rapidly shook its head.

The once-linear Flathrower morphed into a spiraling vortex of fire, dramatically widening the attack range and trapping Golbat within the fiery circle.

The Flathrower emitted by Combusken was exceptionally powerful, raising the battlefield's temperature in re seconds. If Golbat were struck by the flas, it would likely suffer severe burns.

Faced with the sudden change in Combusken's attack pattern, Sato remained calm, refraining from giving imdiate commands.

Golbat, however, did not disappoint. Displaying its exceptional flight skills, it used echolocation from Supersonic to identify openings in the fiery spiral and deftly escaped the attack's range unscathed.

Maintaining Flathrower clearly demanded significant energy, and Combusken couldn't sustain it for long.

Upon seeing Golbat evade the vortex, it promptly ceased the attack and began sprinting across the battlefield.

Combusken's speed was astonishing. The uneven, rocky terrain posed no challenge, and its movents left behind a series of fleeting afterimages.

Judging by their frequency, it was evident that its speed was still increasing.

"Excellent! Keep it up, and Golbat won't even co close to touching Combusken," Heiji said with a satisfied smile as he observed Combusken's steadily climbing speed.

In truth, Combusken's aggressive opening and use of Flathrower had already bought it enough ti to activate its Speed Boost ability twice. Whether it hit Golbat or not, Combusken had already gained a significant advantage.

"Use Whirlwind Shield and trap it in a confined space!" Sato commanded, orchestrating a counterattack.

Sato was well aware of Heiji's strategy to exploit Speed Boost.

However, with Golbat still at Level 32, countering this tactic was challenging. A proper response would require Golbat to reach Level 40 and learn Haze, which could neutralize the stat boosts.

For now, Sato's only option was to confine Combusken to a limited area, restricting its increasingly dangerous mobility.

Responding to Sato's command, Golbat's expansive wings began glowing with dense Flying-type energy. At the sa ti, its sharp eyes glead with a bright cyan light.

In the next mont, three white cyclones, each a ter in diater, ford rapidly across the rocky battlefield. The cyclones expanded outward in a triangular formation, encircling Combusken.

The cyclones moved with remarkable speed, and within a second, the distance between them had narrowed to less than five ters.

Powerful air currents swirled through the triangular formation of three white whirlwinds, extinguishing the flas on Combusken's body and significantly reducing its speed as the strong winds pressed against it.

"Use Double Kick combined with Quick Attack to break out! Don't let the three whirlwinds fully converge!"

The Air Cutter formation created by Golbat had given Heiya Heiji quite a shock. Though unsure of its intricacies, his sharp battle instincts told him it would be disastrous to allow the three whirlwinds to close in further.

He quickly commanded Combusken to break through the encirclent with all its might.

Hearing the command, Combusken's eyes flashed with determination. Flas erupted from its right leg as it forcefully kicked a nearby rock into the air.

Simultaneously, its feet glead with brilliant white light, and with a powerful leap, it transford into a blur, charging toward the flying rock.

The rock served as a shield against the oncoming wind currents, helping Combusken push forward.

As it caught up to the rock mid-air, it smashed the rock into pieces with its claws and used the fragnts as stepping stones to propel itself forward with Quick Attack.

Finally, through the combined efforts of the rock, the sudden burst of speed from Double Kick, and the explosive acceleration of Quick Attack, Combusken managed to escape the Whirlwind vortex.

However, the escape was not without cost. The fine wind blades within the whirlwinds inflicted nurous small but sharp wounds across Combusken's body.

"Now's our turn. Use Rock Slide and hit it hard!"

Golbat, having expended significant energy to execute the Whirlwind Shield technique, was montarily fatigued. Heiji seized this opportunity to launch a counterattack, instructing Combusken to unleash a Rock-type move.

Without hesitation, Combusken began gathering Rock-type energy. Given the rocky terrain of the battlefield, the energy was abundant and easy to harness.

In less than a second, several rocks, each roughly the size of a soccer ball, materialized around Combusken. Wasting no ti, it began striking and kicking the rocks into the air, sending them hurtling toward Golbat with ear-piercing velocity.

"Dodge them! If you can't, use Protect to block!"

Faced with the barrage of rocks enhanced by Combusken's trendous strength, Sato's expression turned grave as he commanded Golbat to react.

Despite its exhaustion, Golbat flapped its wings with remarkable agility, using its exceptional flying skills to evade most of the rocks.

However, for those it couldn't avoid, it followed Sato's orders and activated Protect to shield itself.

"It's ti. Combusken, go play with Golbat! Use Flathrower!"

By now, three minutes had elapsed since the battle began. A triumphant smile spread across Heiji's face as he gave his next command, confident in Combusken's fully charged Speed Boost.

Three minutes—that was the ti Heiji had calculated for Combusken's Speed Boost to reach its maximum potential. At this point, even the skies would no longer limit it.

"Oh my goodness!"

To the astonishnt of the spectators lining the battlefield, Combusken began running in mid-air! Its powerful legs moved with incredible speed, enabling it to step on the air itself, a feat that left everyone in awe.

"What terrifying combat talent... Is this the Pokémon version of Sky Walk?"

Sato's eyes widened in shock as he observed the spectacle. Pokémon bodies were far superior to those of ordinary humans, capable of achieving feats others could barely comprehend, and with Speed Boost fully activated, Combusken achieving such a feat was no longer that surprising.

However, it undeniably made the battle far more challenging.
