-----------------

The Shiny Pelipper had only recently evolved, and its Drizzle ability was still in its infancy.

According to Sato's tests, the rain clouds generated by Pelipper's ability could currently only cover the entirety of a standard battlefield, with a duration of about 10 minutes.

(Note: A standard battlefield asures 30x20 ters.)

Unlike in the gas, Pelipper's Drizzle ability couldn't be imdiately reactivated after being withdrawn and sent out again.

After all, it wasn't a legendary Pokémon like Kyogre, blessed with ancient powers. Pelipper required at least 10 minutes of rest before it could activate the ability again.

The drizzle lasted for about a minute before escalating into steady rain. Raindrops pattered down, forming a thin layer of water over the grassy battlefield.

In the rain, Scyther was visibly distressed. Initially, it was flying comfortably, but the rainwater soon drenched its body, hampering its wing movents.

The added weight from the water forced it to descend to the ground.

Alice, like her Scyther, was also in a tough spot. Before the battle, she had done her howork and knew that Sato's strongest Pokémon were his Golbat, Bellossom, and Marshtomp.

Because of the grassy terrain, she had anticipated that Sato would send out Bellossom.

That was why she had chosen Scyther, whose type advantage could easily counter Bellossom. However, she hadn't expected Sato to send out a Pelipper with the Drizzle ability.

"Ugh, what are those useless spies even doing? They didn't report that his Wingull had evolved, let alone that it had the Drizzle ability. Damn it! This rain completely nullifies my ace, Charleon!"

Glaring at the rain-drenched battlefield, Alice's mood soured as dark as the storm overhead. She cursed the intelligence brokers in her mind more than a dozen tis.

To be fair, the intelligence brokers weren't entirely to bla.

Due to Sato's status as a Pokémon dical trainer, he always traveled wearing a human-skin mask crafted by Ditto, rendering his identity nearly untraceable.

Moreover, Pelipper had only evolved within the past couple of days, and its Drizzle ability was a closely guarded secret known only to Sato and a few sparring trainers.

Most importantly, among the Pokémon Sato had used in the Battle Tower, only Marshtomp had appeared multiple tis, while Growlithe had made a single appearance.

The intelligence brokers, unfamiliar with this outsider, could only deduce Sato's strongest Pokémon—Golbat and Bellossom—from second-hand sources.

But regardless of the circumstances, the battle had started and couldn't be stopped. After her mont of frustration, Alice refocused her attention.

While the rain severely hindered Scyther's flying capabilities, the grassy battlefield gave the forest warrior a natural advantage. Scyther, seasoned in combat, didn't need Alice's instructions. It swiftly moved across the slick grass, disappearing into the tree line to evade Pelipper's sight.

As the Shiny Pelipper flew low to search the treetops, Scyther burst forth from the canopy of a large tree behind it.

With a powerful kick off the trunk and a burst of Quick Attack propelled by its wings, Scyther turned into a green blur, streaking towards Pelipper.

"Great job! Use Slash! Knock it out of the sky and teach it a lesson!"

Alice's eyes lit up at Scyther's swift assault, and she promptly commanded it to strike Pelipper.

While not as powerful as her Charleon, Alice held her Scyther in high regard. Its exceptional close-combat prowess ant that any opponent caught within range of its razor-sharp blades would fall quickly to its relentless attacks.

To Alice, Pokémon like Pelipper—used by "commoners"—were inherently weak. Just like her opinion of Sato's Golbat, she looked down on Pelipper and its trainer, deeming them insignificant.

"Hmph, you're foolish. In rainy conditions, unless you use Electric-type moves, my Pelipper is nearly unbeatable. If you'd opted for a drawn-out, evasive strategy using the forest as cover, waiting for the rain to subside, you might've had a chance. But now? You're courting disaster."

Sato smirked coldly at Scyther's reckless charge, though he refrained from underestimating it. The information he'd just received about Scyther made him cautious.

While Alice might be arrogant, her wealth allowed her access to top-tier Pokémon. Her Charleon was already enviable, and this Scyther, too, was an exceptional specin.

...

Clearly, this Scyther was a cut above the rest, narrowly missing the gold IV threshold. Alice had spared no expense in its developnt, teaching it powerful moves like Swords Dance and X-Scissor early.

However, stats were just stats. True combat strength was proven in battle.

Perhaps Scyther had effortlessly bested opponents in Alice's hands before, but today, its recklessness would cost it dearly.

As Scyther's gleaming blades neared Pelipper, the Shiny Pokémon's eyes lit up. A powerful Hurricane ford in front of it, an oppressive wall of wind surging to intercept Scyther.

The Bug Pokémon dove headfirst into the storm. Overwheld by the type advantage, it took severe damage. When the Hurricane subsided, Scyther was spinning uncontrollably, dazed.

The confusion effect had triggered.

Pelipper wasted no ti capitalizing on the opening. Without needing Sato's command, it unleashed a high-pressure Hydro Pump from its wide beak.

Amplified by the rain, the Hydro Pump obliterated everything in its path. Scyther, along with eight trees, was sent crashing down.

A significant portion of the forested battlefield lay in ruins.

After enduring two powerful STAB moves, Scyther—despite its incredible talent and durability—was left defeated.

"You really need to learn your lesson. Never underestimate any Pokémon, especially my Pokemon. There are rarely any weak Pokémon, only weak trainers. Your Scyther is strong, but as a trainer, you've fallen short. Your arrogance clouds your judgnt. And don't you dare underestimate . I won't show you any rcy."

Sato turned to the now pale-faced Alice, his expression stern as he delivered his sharp rebuke.
