-----------------

At 12:25 AM, as he sat in the contestants' lounge waiting for his turn, Sato finally heard the announcent of his code na, 2569, over the venue's broadcast system.

Rising to his feet, he slowly made his way through the entry passage into the arena.

As Sato walked further down the corridor, the sound of the audience's cheers grew louder, igniting a burning battle spirit within him.

He relished the victorious thrill of being celebrated by the crowd—a sensation of honor that sent adrenaline coursing through his veins.

"Alright, ladies and gentlen, the next challenger for our beloved Mr. Palot has arrived! Let's give a warm welco to the newcor, Trainer 2569, making his debut here at the Battle Do!"

The comntator, mounted on a Fearow circling above the battle arena, directed his microphone at the masked figure erging from the far end of the stadium's entryway.

His enthusiastic voice bood across the venue, electrifying the atmosphere.

"Clap clap clap~~~"

The nearly thousand-strong audience erupted into a fervent round of applause, filling the expansive arena.

The Battle Do was equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, one of which particularly delighted its visitors: an individual device at each seat.

This device allowed spectators to view summarized profiles of the competing trainers' Pokémon and place bets on matches.

By analyzing these profiles, attendees could wager on their preferred contenders. The arena's system would then calculate and generate payout odds based on the total amounts bet by both sides.

Although it was Sato's first appearance at the Battle Do, viewers who had examined his profile on their devices understood that he was a formidable trainer.

They didn't underestimate him simply because he was new.

"Let's briefly go over the rules. This is a three-on-three battle. Trainers are not allowed to recall their Pokémon once they are sent out, except under specific circumstances. The match ends when all of one side's Pokémon are unable to battle. Now, let's spin the roulette to decide the battle terrain and the first move!"

Five minutes later, after the contestants took their positions on the platforms and the betting window closed, the comntator officially signaled the start of the battle preparations.

In re seconds, the roulettes above the arena displayed their results: a grass field as the terrain and Palot as the one to move first.

Another brief wait ensued as the battlefield transford into a lush grassland with small groves, a man-made stream, and sprawling patches of greenery.

"No matter who you are, you're just another stepping stone on my path to ten consecutive victories. With you, I'll only need four more wins. Go, Victreebel, and secure my victory!"

Dressed in sleek black battle attire, Palot opened his previously closed eyes, his sharp gaze cutting straight toward Sato. He issued his declaration with unwavering confidence.

The next mont, a Victreebel—noticeably larger than its peers—erged amidst the tall grass. As it opened its wide mouth, a peculiar sweet aroma began wafting through the air.

The aroma quickly spread across the battlefield, carried by the breeze. Many spectators who caught a whiff of the scent seed entranced, rising from their seats and instinctively moving toward Victreebel.

Fortunately, the arena's safety asures were impeccable.

Staff mbers swiftly activated a large glass do that enclosed the battlefield, containing the srizing aroma. Grass-type Pokémon trained in Aromatherapy were deployed to dispel the effects on affected spectators, and the situation was promptly brought under control.

"What a powerful Sweet Scent! This Victreebel has refined this move to the point of instinct. With this ability to influence its surroundings continuously, any opposing Pokémon with weaker willpower is destined to falter. Truly, high level trainers have extraordinary Pokémon!"

Observing the pink haze lingering across the battlefield and recalling the spectators' earlier reactions, Sato quickly grasped the threat posed by Palot's Victreebel.

This carnivorous plant was a fearso predator in its natural habitat.

As always, Sato's eyes glimred faintly with a barely noticeable blue light as he accessed his system's scanning feature to analyze his opponent's Pokémon.

"Let's go, Beautifly! Watch out for the aroma, and use air currents to disperse it."

Sato's willpower remained unshaken; the Sweet Scent had no effect on him. After analyzing Victreebel's data, he made his decision.

Tossing out a PokéBall, he called forth his shiny Beautifly.

Initially, Sato had considered sending out Growlithe, but recognizing the threat posed by the aroma, he quickly changed his mind. Growlithe's acute sense of sll, hundreds of tis more sensitive than a human's, would make it highly vulnerable to the scent—an unacceptable risk in battle.

Thus, Sato chose Beautifly, a Bug/Flying Pokémon, to counter Victreebel.

Having gained significant experience during the bike gang mission, Beautifly had reached level 28. At this stage, battling similarly strong or stronger opponents was essential for its growth.

Though Victreebel's level exceeded Beautifly's by four, the type advantage narrowed the gap, even favoring Beautifly slightly. Victreebel was an ideal challenge for honing its skills.

As the shiny Beautifly appeared, its dazzling, glittering powder shimred in the light, eliciting excited screams from many female spectators.

Despite its own sharp senses, Beautifly was prepared. Upon entering the battlefield, it imdiately detected the lingering Sweet Scent.

Its sharp eyes glead with a greenish glow as it summoned Flying-type energy, creating a swirling current around itself.

The gust expanded outward in a counterclockwise direction, dispersing the Sweet Scent. No matter how much Victreebel exhaled, the aroma could not reach Beautifly.

In an instant, Beautifly nullified Victreebel's signature advantage with ease.

"Such a troubleso opponent. Victreebel, use Sunny Day!"

Recognizing Beautifly's effortless manipulation of Flying-type energy, Palot ordered his Victreebel to shift strategies, abandoning its passive stance.
