After completing their physical training, Sato and his Pokémon had dinner together. Following a rest period of over an hour, they prepared for their evening skill training.
Since such training wasn't suitable to conduct in their room, Sato led his team to a large Pokémon training facility.
This facility, built adjacent to the Battle Do, was exclusively accessible to trainers participating in battles there.
Sato rented a 300-square-ter training area within the facility for three hours at the cost of 30,000 PokeDollars, giving his Pokémon a spacious and varied environnt to practice their skills freely (with the exception of moves like Earthquake).
Golbat was working on mastering Haze, a move it had inherited through bloodline traits at Level 40.
As an Ice-type move, Golbat currently lacked full mastery over it. Even so, it perford admirably with Haze during last night's battle.
As the na suggests, Haze creates a black mist. Unlike ordinary fog, this mist dispels any temporary boosts in the opponent's stats, accuracy, or evasion.
Additionally, it obstructs visibility for both Pokémon and trainers, creating a darkened battlefield for a short ti.
During this period, the black mist shrouds the area in near-darkness. Unless a Pokémon can disperse it using wind-based moves or has an alternative thod to perceive its surroundings, their vision is heavily impaired.
However, for Golbat, this dark environnt is ideal. As a species, Golbat can fly almost silently, making them excellent at stealth.
Furthermore, Golbat relies on supersonic waves as its primary sense rather than sight, allowing it to navigate and locate opponents with precision, even in complete darkness.
By combining its silent flight with its echolocation, Golbat becos an exceptional assassin within the mist. It can silently approach and strike or confuse opponents with its Supersonic attack.
Sato considered Haze to be the cornerstone of Golbat's future battle strategy. With it, Golbat could effectively simulate a nightti battlefield, even during daylight hours.
It's well-known that a Golbat's combat prowess is significantly stronger at night. In darkness, they are akin to terrifying vampires, silently approaching their prey and draining them of their strength.
Moreover, Haze is a nightmare for Pokémon relying on stat-boosting strategies to sweep through opponents.
Unless they possess abilities like Clear Body or Hyper Cutter, they are left utterly vulnerable.
In the future, with Golbat at his side, Sato wouldn't need to worry about opponents creating a "boss-level" Pokémon using Baton Pass.
A single Haze could wipe out any advantages painstakingly built by his adversaries.
Currently, Golbat was training on a standard Ice Field asuring 30x20 ters. The area it could cover with a single Haze was roughly 10 square ters, only a small section of a standard battlefield.
Thanks to the abundant Ice-type energy on the field, Golbat, despite shivering from the cold, was making significant progress. With practice, the area of effect of its Haze gradually expanded.
The shiny Pelipper was also training on the Ice Field, working on its Ice Beam. Opening its large beak, it unleashed an icy-blue beam onto a pristine white wall, causing half the wall to frost over.
However, the wall appeared to have built-in heating panels, quickly lting the frost into water that drained into the floor's outlets.
Thanks to its Water typing and the restorative effects of gemstone-grade PokeBlocks, Pelipper was making excellent progress.
The increasing area of frost on the heated wall showed steady improvent in its mastery of Ice Beam.
Swampert was focusing on Icy Wind, a move it had nearly mastered. However, its version of Icy Wind lacked sufficient chill and wind strength.
This was understandable since Swampert wasn't an Ice-type Pokémon, nor did it possess wings like Flying-types.
While categorized as an Ice-type move, Icy Wind is closely tied to Flying-type energy, combining Ice energy with an aerial component. Its advanced form, Blizzard, is essentially a stronger version of Icy Wind.
If Swampert fully mastered Icy Wind, learning Blizzard would be a natural progression.
To perfect its technique, Swampert needed to enhance its control over both Ice and Flying-type energies.
Sato was impressed by the facility's advanced training equipnt, which surpassed many of his own envisioned designs.
The heated wall Pelipper used for Ice Beam practice and the glass tunnel Swampert was in for Icy Wind training were pri examples of innovative tools.
Inside the glass tunnel, Swampert faced a large electric fan coupled with a powerful air conditioner releasing icy cold air. Frost-covered, the tunnel simulated the conditions of a snowy, freezing windstorm.
In this environnt, Swampert could feel the intense presence of Ice and Flying-type energies within the cold wind. It concentrated on rging these energies to unleash Icy Wind against the opposing current, significantly accelerating its progress.
Despite its Water typing and decent resistance to cold, Swampert couldn't endure the harsh conditions for long.
Every 15 minutes or so, it would leave the tunnel, chilled to the bone, to rest in a nearby artificially heated onsen alongside Golbat.
