Sato did not imdiately have his Shiny Beautifly practice the moves Shadow Ball and Electroweb after learning them through a TM. Instead, he first focused on helping her master the Grass-type moves she inherited through her bloodline, with the assistance of Bellossom.
Currently, Shiny Beautifly knew the Grass-type moves Absorb, ga Drain, and Giga Drain.
From their nas alone, it was clear these moves were interconnected—a progression of absorption techniques, with Giga Drain being the ultimate evolution of this sequence.
At this mont, Bellossom was using Grassy Terrain on a patch of lawn. Within a ten-ter radius, the Grass-type energy beca dense and vibrant.
Everything within this area seed refreshed, and the grass began to grow wildly.
Hovering above the lush terrain, Shiny Beautifly's eyes glowed a vibrant green. A thin erald thread of energy extended from her long proboscis, piercing directly into Bellossom's body without obstruction.
The green thread glead brightly as it absorbed Bellossom's vitality, converting a portion of it into Shiny Beautifly's stamina, ensuring she remained in peak condition.
Of course, since Bellossom was within her own Grassy Terrain and highly resistant to Grass-type moves, the damage from Shiny Beautifly's Absorb was negligible.
The green thread extending from Shiny Beautifly's proboscis was ford by condensing Grass-type energy.
Thanks to Bellossom's Grassy Terrain and her expert guidance, Beautifly barely managed to condense this energy into a functional absorption thread.
Typically, Pokémon using Absorb would combine it with Vine Whip. However, since not all Pokémon can use Vine Whip, most rely on condensed energy threads for their absorption techniques.
(Note: In the gas, Absorb, ga Drain, and Giga Drain don't require physical contact to drain energy, but I find that chanic a bit overpowered and hard to explain. So, I've adjusted the chanics for these moves.)
For Pokémon adept in ga Drain, the energy threads could even evolve into energy whips. Bellossom, for example, could form two-ter-long glowing whips with both hands while using ga Drain.
Shiny Beautifly's aptitude for learning Bug- and Flying-type moves was exceptional. However, when it ca to non-STAB moves, her talent was above average at best, requiring ti and effort to master them.
As a Bug/Flying-type Pokémon, Shiny Beautifly is especially vulnerable to Fire-, Flying-, Ice-, and Rock-type moves, with Rock-type moves dealing quadruple damage.
From a theoretical standpoint, Rock-type Pokémon would be her nesis. A single hit from a Rock-type move could severely injure her.
However, most Rock-type Pokémon posed little threat to her. Her natural ability to learn Grass-type moves, particularly absorption-based techniques, countered them effectively.
In Sato's experience, these absorption moves were incredibly powerful for sustainability, especially Giga Drain, with its base power of 75.
With Shiny Beautifly's Special Attack stat of 150, unless facing a Pokémon resistant to Grass-type moves, her Giga Drain could deal significant damage to most opponents.
The most terrifying aspect of absorption moves is their dual effect—damaging opponents while healing the user.
This makes them ideal for prolonged battles, effectively allowing a "fight-and-heal" strategy.
If Shiny Beautifly could fully master Giga Drain, her sustainability in battles would beco formidable. With her Special Attack stat paired with the move's power, Rock-type Pokémon with lower Special Defense would essentially beco HP reservoirs for her.
In simple terms, as long as Shiny Beautifly maintained her focus and successfully attacked with Giga Drain, she could fight indefinitely.
This would perfectly compensate for her current lack of stamina due to limited endurance training.
Thus, to significantly enhance Shiny Beautifly's combat capabilities, Sato decided to prioritize these Grass-type moves. Of course, mastering just Giga Drain would suffice for now.
Still, Ro wasn't built in a day. Shiny Beautifly's innate talent for Grass-type moves was just above average, so she had to start with the basics of Absorb.
Fortunately, with Bellossom's expert guidance and the aid of Grassy Terrain, her progress was comndable. After hundreds of practice sessions, the energy thread she ford had beco slightly thicker and longer.
While his Pokémon trained diligently, Sato was sweating in a small room, crafting Pokémon food.
Surrounded by several machines and a pile of failed attempts on the floor, Sato struggled to create high-quality food for Swampert.
Even with chanical assistance, producing satisfactory Pokémon food was no easy feat. After more than 20 failed attempts, he was gradually familiarizing himself with the process outlined in the Lilycove Compendium.
The process of making Pokémon food was intricate. First, berries had to be dehydrated in a drying machine. However, without precise timing, the berries would likely be ruined, rendering them useless.
Once successfully dehydrated, the berries and other hard ingredients had to be ground into powder.
This powder was then mixed with at powder, wheat flour, Deep Sea Scale powder, and other components in specific proportions before being blended.
Mixing the ingredients was the most challenging step. Any deviation in proportions, blending speed, or duration would result in a failed batch.
Thankfully, Sato had a recipe to follow, which provided approximate ratios. Without it, he might never succeed.
Determining whether the mixture was correct was straightforward. The ingredients would undergo a unique chemical reaction during blending, resulting in a transparent, jelly-like substance.
For Swampert's food, the recipe indicated that the final product should be a crystal-blue, translucent substance with specks of earthy-yellow granules, emitting a faint blue and yellow glow.
