-----------------

There's no denying it—being chased by an ancient super-legendary Pokémon is an outright catastrophe.

At this mont, Sato had co to deeply understand just how dangerous it was. If it weren't for the Dragon-type Elite Four by his side as a powerful ally, he would've long been blasted into dust by Kyogre, let alone managed to escape for nearly half an hour.

During that half hour, the ga Salance carrying Drake and Sato had flown all the way north—from Route 108 to the vast prival forests between Route 103 and Route 117. Yet Kyogre was still relentlessly chasing them like a maddened beast.

Even with the powerful Dragon-type Elite Four as an ally, Sato had reached a dead end—the ga Salance was about to collapse.

Kyogre truly lived up to its na as a terrifying ancient super-legendary Pokémon. Its weather domain extended unbelievably far, allowing it to freely manipulate every supernatural phenonon within it.

Facing sudden hurricanes and thunderbolts crashing from the heavens, even the Level 85 ga Salance—a top Elite Four-level Pokémon—was now covered in scars.

Fortunately, Sato had his Pikachu with the Lightning Rod ability, and Drake had his Cloud Nine Altaria. Thanks to them, neither Sato nor Drake had been struck down by the sky's raging lightning.

But Pikachu wasn't an invincible lightning rod. Its level was still too low; although it kept discharging massive electricity to offset the overwhelming current absorbed from Kyogre's lightning, its small body was already nearing its limit.

The only good news was that the Mutated Thunder Orb inside Pikachu was absorbing all that energy like a drought-stricken tree drinking in rain. It frantically drew in Kyogre's lightning, radiating a renewed brilliance.

It was thanks to this precious Electric-type treasure that Pikachu—despite being only Level 33—had managed to endure absorbing the lightning power created by the super-legendary Kyogre for nearly half an hour.

"Damn it, kid. This ti it's my fault—we're in this ss because of . Salance can't hold on much longer, but I've got other Pokémon who can buy us so ti. I'll draw Kyogre's attention—you take the chance to run."

Drake, naturally, understood the situation perfectly. Even at death's door, the old Hoenn Elite Four refused to abandon Sato. Instead, he chose to leave the chance of survival to him.

Sato's heart ward at Drake's words, followed by a surge of deep regret.

He shouldn't have been greedy. He knew Kyogre was coming, yet he couldn't resist absorbing its primal essence. That act had enraged the beast—and now Drake was paying the price for his recklessness, perhaps even with his life.

"Damn it, old man, I get what you're saying," Sato shouted. "But that big-headed fish is after ! You're Hoenn's Dragon-type Elite Four—if you die here, that's the real loss.

"I'm a nobody. If I die, so be it. But if I sohow survive this, you better compensate later!"

Sato didn't consider himself a good person, but he wasn't shaless enough to let others die for his mistakes. He firmly rejected Drake's offer and said resolutely, "I'll handle this myself."

The mont he spoke, blue light flashed in his eyes—Teleport activated. In an instant, he and Pikachu vanished from Salance's back, reappearing two hundred ters northeast in the open sky.

Imdiately, Sato released Crobat and commanded it to fly north at full speed.

As expected, the mont Sato left Salance's back, Kyogre's attention shifted entirely toward him.

"That brat's got one hell of a temper," Drake chuckled grimly. "But I like it! Salance, we've been running long enough. Let's show it what we've got—use Ultimate Dragon Dive!"

"Altaria, lend that kid a hand with your Cloud Nine domain!"

Seeing Sato dash off to face Kyogre alone, Drake couldn't help but feel a surge of respect. He'd thought Sato was the cowardly type, but clearly, he wasn't afraid to stand up when it counted.

"Rooaaar!!"

Even when facing a super-legendary Pokémon, ga Salance felt no fear. Upon hearing Drake's command, it let out a thunderous roar, surging with a mix of Dragon-type and Flying-type energy before transforming into a massive dragon-shaped cot that crashed straight toward Kyogre.

Ultimate Dragon Dive—a combination of Giga Impact and Dragon Rush—was an imnsely powerful dual-type fusion move. Thanks to Salance's Aerilate ability, the Normal-type Giga Impact was converted into a Flying-type move.

Thus, this technique beca a devastating dual-STAB combo. Especially after ga Salance had boosted itself six tis with Dragon Dance, its power had reached a terrifying peak.

Even Kyogre, a Level 100 ancient super-legendary whose true power far exceeded that level, couldn't ignore the impact of such a terrifying attack.

A thunderous BOOM!! shook the sky.

The massive dragon-shaped cot that was ga Salance slamd hard into Kyogre, sending the beast flying several ters sideways with a deep, pained roar.

Seeing his Salance land the hit, Drake—now riding his Flygon—couldn't help but grin in satisfaction. He recalled his exhausted Salance, ending its ga Evolution, and dove with Flygon toward the forest below.

"ROAR!!"

Clearly, Salance's strike had enraged Kyogre. The beast's attention shifted from Sato back to Drake. It opened its enormous, fanged jaws and bellowed furiously.

Instantly, a deafening shockwave rolled out, accompanied by massive bolts of lightning crashing down through the storming sky—aid directly at Drake and his Flygon.

Thankfully, Drake's Level 75 Flygon was fast enough. It dove straight into the forest canopy, and with its Ground typing, it managed to endure Kyogre's raging thunderstorm.

anwhile, Sato used the ti Drake had bought him to escape even farther. With Crobat flying at full speed, he soon crossed Route 117 and entered the territory of Lavaridge Town.

"Finally… Mt. Chimney! Let's see if you still have ti to chase once you run into your old nesis."

Sato looked ahead toward the faint silhouette of Mt. Chimney in the distance. A flicker of hope stirred in his chest. Glancing back at the returning storm clouds, he cursed under his breath and muttered grimly—

"This isn't over yet, damn it."
