After being struck by two Brick Breaks and two Aura Spheres in succession, even though Zoroark's level was 19 levels higher than Blastoise's, the effect of type advantage ant it was instantly heavily injured.
When Zoroark fell from the air, it crashed onto the ground covered in wounds, and the illusion it had been maintaining imdiately collapsed and shattered.
However, the gap between a level 36 Blastoise and a level 55 Zoroark was still enormous. Even after such a combined heavy assault, Blastoise still failed to knock Zoroark out in one blow.
"My goodness! Contestant Tyler's Blastoise has seriously injured Contestant Hughes' Zoroark! This is unbelievable!"
The referee had just broken free from the illusion and had been preparing to announce Zoroark's victory again. But when he saw the situation on the battlefield, his eyes widened in disbelief before he shouted excitedly.
"Waaah—!"
At that mont, most of the audience also snapped out of the illusion. When they saw the scene on the battlefield and heard the referee's announcent, an uproar imdiately erupted.
"How is that possible? Mr. Hughes' Zoroark was actually badly injured by that man's Blastoise."
Sonoko had also just escaped the illusion. Hearing the referee's words, she stared at the battlefield as it gradually returned to normal, her face full of disbelief.
"So it's the power of aura… It seems aura power is the natural enemy of Zoroark's illusions. If that's the case, then my Togekiss should be able to do the sa."
Beside her, Alice hadn't seen what had happened because she was trapped in the illusion earlier. But she had heard Hughes' sowhat furious voice just now and vaguely guessed the answer.
"What an impressive guy. He even managed to capture a Blastoise that has mastered aura power. Hahaha—looks like that brat from the Adolf family might just capsize in a gutter this ti."
In the aisle, the manager Okuma burst into laughter as he looked at the battle situation.
Upon hearing her manager's words, Elesa simply nodded slightly. Her beautiful eyes were fixed on Sato, who had just opened his eyes again, her gaze flickering with unknown thoughts.
"Get up, Zoroark! Use Dark Pulse!"
Hughes' expression was extrely grim, but when he saw that Zoroark had not yet lost its fighting ability, his mood improved slightly. He imdiately encouraged it, hoping to finish the battle quickly.
Zoroark itself was filled with anger. The greater its pride, the stronger the fury it felt now. Without needing Hughes to say much, it gritted its teeth and forced itself back onto its feet.
In the next mont, an extrely terrifying Dark-type energy erupted from Zoroark's body. At the sa ti, the Nightmare Crystal hanging from its neck glowed intensely red.
A massive black shockwave burst from its mouth.
As soon as the dark shockwave was released, it transford into a huge black maw that lunged straight toward Blastoise, destroying every obstacle in its path.
Its speed was astonishingly fast. With Blastoise's current mobility, it would be impossible to escape the attack range normally.
"What terrifying Dark-type energy… Blastoise can't take that head-on. Use the high-speed water wheel to dodge!"
Seeing the terrifying power behind Zoroark's furious Dark Pulse, Sato imdiately realized Blastoise couldn't withstand it—even Protect might fail. Through telepathy, he quickly issued an order.
Facing the incoming attack, every nerve in Blastoise's body scread for it to dodge. The mont it received Sato's command, it wasted no ti.
It instantly retracted its limbs and head into its shell and began spinning rapidly.
In an instant, the shell started rotating at high speed.
Then, with the twin cannons on its back firing powerful jets of pressurized water, the spinning shell shot sideways in a curved arc through the air—transforming into a massive, high-speed spinning water wheel.
In the end, Blastoise successfully avoided the attack range of Zoroark's Dark Pulse.
Moreover, thanks to aura power, even inside its shell Blastoise could clearly lock onto Zoroark's position.
Soon, by skillfully adjusting its trajectory through bursts of high-pressure water from different outlets on its shell, the spinning water wheel charged toward Zoroark with unstoppable montum.
"Incredible! Blastoise has successfully dodged Zoroark's powerful attack!"
The referee shouted excitedly into the microphone.
The audience was equally stunned by Blastoise's unusual movent technique, and cheers quickly erupted in support of the underdog making a coback.
Hughes' face darkened even further when he saw Blastoise evade the attack in such an unbelievable way.
"Dodge it! Then freeze it with Ice Beam!"
He knew Zoroark couldn't afford to take another hit. If Blastoise's attack landed, it would definitely lose its ability to fight.
Zoroark's fighting spirit was remarkable. Even though its body was screaming in pain, it still clenched its teeth and endured.
As Blastoise approached, Zoroark forced its legs to move and slid several ters to the left, narrowly avoiding the incoming strike.
Imdiately afterward, a beam of icy-blue light shot from its mouth and struck Blastoise.
The mont the high-speed water wheel touched the Ice Beam, it instantly froze into a giant block of ice in midair. However, due to inertia, it continued spinning rapidly.
Eventually, the frozen mass crashed heavily onto the ground—with Blastoise sealed inside.
However, Blastoise was still a Water-type Pokémon and had high resistance to Ice-type energy. Even as the ice block landed, cracks imdiately spread across its surface. It was obvious Blastoise would break free soon.
Seeing this, Hughes naturally would not miss such a golden opportunity. He ordered Zoroark to launch a full attack.
But Zoroark was already gravely injured. That earlier devastating Dark Pulse had been its full-powered strike fueled by rage—and partially empowered by the Nightmare Crystal.
If it had been in perfect condition, it might have been able to unleash another attack of that level.
But now, it could only barely produce a normal-power Dark Pulse.
Blastoise was a defensive Pokémon with incredibly thick armor and a rock-solid shell. Even though Zoroark's level was much higher, the ordinary Dark Pulse could not knock it out instantly.
As the smoke from the explosion cleared, a slightly blackened turtle shell lay on the battlefield.
Then Blastoise's nearly unhard head and limbs slowly erged from the shell's gaps.
At the sa mont, following Sato's telepathic command, Blastoise activated its cannons again.
Two football-sized Aura Spheres shot forward in quick succession toward Zoroark.
Blastoise's aura power was not limitless. The earlier two Aura Spheres had nearly drained it completely. But after so recovery, it had just enough energy to fire two more—enough to finish Zoroark.
Aura Sphere possessed tracking ability, using the opponent's aura as a signal. Under normal circumstances, it was impossible to dodge.
Hughes clearly knew this property. When he saw Blastoise fire two Aura Spheres one after another, he imdiately realized the battle was over.
"Use Protect to block them!"
Still unwilling to give up, he struggled desperately and ordered the severely injured Zoroark to attempt one last defense.
Unfortunately, miracles did not occur.
Sato had calculated everything precisely.
Blastoise's two Aura Spheres were fired two seconds apart.
Zoroark's green energy barrier from Protect successfully blocked the first one.
But the second Aura Sphere struck directly into its chest, blasting it away.
This ti, Zoroark could no longer endure.
By the ti it fell from the air, it had already lost consciousness.
