Now reading: Chapter 131 - 91: Gengar’s Illusionary Skill, Ho-Oh Returns! from Pokemon: This Ash Is Too Versatile, a Fantasy novel by The writing fairy is about to starve to death..

Even if Ash’s Ralts doesn’t know Foresight, he still has Riolu.

Riolu hasn’t recovered enough to battle yet, but if it’s just using Foresight, that’s no problem.

But since Ralts knows Foresight, there’s no need for Riolu to step in. He should just stay in the Pokeball and heal up quietly.

"Damn, that hurts!" Gengar, just before hitting the ground, finally recovered from the impact of the Aura Sphere, and floated back into the air.

At this mont, he felt pain all over his body, even after the Shadow Ball had weakened the Aura Sphere. If he had been directly hit, he might have been finished here.

"Once more..." Ash once again gathered an Aura Sphere at his waist. With his attack power, as long as it hits Gengar, the battle is basically over.

Just then, a layer of light suddenly covered Gengar’s body, and in the next second, a dazzling figure flew out from the light!

Ash’s hand that was gathering the Aura Sphere paused, and his face showed an expression of disbelief.

"Wha... what?!"

In the distance, Misty and Brock saw the figure, and their faces were filled with extre shock.

"Ho-Oh!"

"How is Ho-Oh here?"

That’s right; in front of everyone appeared the legendary beast, Ho-Oh!

The appearance of Ho-Oh startled everyone, including Ash, who was in the middle of a battle.

Soaring in the air, Ho-Oh, flashing with seven-colored lights, dove towards Ash.

Ash, who was stunned, instantly snapped back to reality, and the Aura Sphere he had just begun to gather disappeared. He then rolled to narrowly dodge Ho-Oh’s dive attack.

He still couldn’t understand why Ho-Oh appeared here and why it suddenly attacked him. Where did Gengar go?

"Sothing’s wrong..." Ash turned to look at the Ho-Oh that had turned around and was charging toward him again.

At this mont, Ash was highly focused, with the Eye of Insight at its peak. The true nature of the ’Ho-Oh’ before him appeared in his vision.

"It’s not Ho-Oh... it’s Gengar transford!"

"Heh, now that you know, it’s too late!" At extre speed, the Ho-Oh rushing toward Ash suddenly transford back into Gengar, with a fully ford Shadow Ball in its hand.

"At this distance, you can’t avoid it, can you!" Gengar sneered, and at an extre close range, hurled the Shadow Ball with force!

In a blink, the Shadow Ball exploded right in front of Ash!

"Boom!"

"Ash!!!" Misty’s pupils shrank as she shouted Ash’s na. No matter how strong Ash was, being hit by a Shadow Ball at this distance couldn’t leave him unscathed.

Let alone Gengar being an Elite Advanced Level Pokémon. Although Ash’s initial ability to suppress Gengar had already shocked them, this ti Gengar caught Ash’s flaw.

With Aura Power, Ash might be strong in attack, but in defense...

As the smoke slowly cleared, Gengar in the sky kept a close eye on the ground. If Ash still had the ability to fight, he would strike again.

He couldn’t hold back at this ti; otherwise, he might be captured!

Lazing around for a thousand years, being captured would certainly be quite uncomfortable.

"What are you looking at?" A ghostly voice ca from behind Gengar, causing Gengar to start and imdiately move forward.

Turning to look would be an absolutely foolish action at this ti. Knowing the opponent is behind and still turning around would extinguish the only chance of escape!

However, even though Gengar’s speed was fast, Ash’s fist was faster!

He threw a punch in passing as Gengar moved forward, and his fist, glowing with aura, struck Gengar’s back fiercely!

"Bang!"

The visible shockwave spread through the air, and Gengar plunged like a teor directly downward!

"Boom!"

Gengar crashed to the ground with a violent roar, sending countless rocks flying and forming a massive crater in the solid ground.

Ash fell from the air, landing firmly on his feet.

He looked at his torn shirt on his stomach, feeling sowhat relieved.

Fortunately, he was constantly using Aura Power for protection when Ho-Oh was flying at him. Otherwise, if he had been hit by the Shadow Ball just now, he might have really gotten hurt.

But more importantly, he wouldn’t have had the chance to catch Gengar’s pause.

Once Gengar starts moving around, even if Ash’s strength surpasses Gengar’s, it’s not easy to deal with him.

Seeing that Gengar could even transform into Ho-Oh, he might have more tricks up his sleeve.

But no matter how many tricks there are, Gengar is now down and can’t use any of them.

The girl floating in the distance hurriedly floated to Gengar’s side when she saw him fall, looking at him with worried eyes.

She wanted to reach out to touch Gengar, but her hand went through his body, leaving a look of disappointnt on her face.

"Don’t worry, he’s fine, just lost the ability to battle. From the aura inside him, he’ll wake up soon." Ash walked to Gengar’s side and comforted the girl.

"Ash, are you alright?"

Seeing the battle over, Misty and Brock hurriedly ran over from afar. Misty touched Ash’s stomach to make sure there was no injury there.

"What could happen to ? The one lying down is Gengar, isn’t it? Let see if I can heal him." Ash said as he crouched down, and the Aura Power surged within him, flowing into Gengar’s body.

Aura Power isn’t healing energy, but if the aura within soone’s body is strengthened, it can affect life force and other aspects, thereby indirectly healing.

If a Pokemon is in a near-death state, Ash’s Aura Power might not have much effect; it can only save a special aura-sensitive Pokemon like Riolu.

But if he’s just passed out like Gengar, injecting a bit of Aura Power to wake him up isn’t a problem.

With the infusion of Aura Power, Gengar slowly woke up. The first thing he saw was Ash, and he instinctively wanted to attack, but then he suddenly rembered what happened last and the power inside him dissipated.

"You, young man, your attacks are really fast and fierce!"

"You’re an Elite Level Pokémon after all. If I don’t go all out, how could I possibly beat you, right?" Ash said while pulling Gengar up.

At these words, Gengar rolled his eyes,

He thought he had already surpassed human wisdom and cunning after living for two thousand years!

The command skills of those Trainers could be far below his!

But now he realized that compared to humans, two thousand years isn’t long at all!

At least, in these two thousand years, he had never encountered such a monster.

Taking a Shadow Ball from that distance and coming out unscathed, could this guy be able to compete with a Champion?

Thinking this ridiculous thought, Gengar imdiately shook it off.

Humans competing with a Champion? Such a thing would only happen in dreams.

But Ash’s capability... well, who knows!

"Alright young man, I promised to beco your Pokémon, so I will, but before that, you must fulfill your promise!"

"No problem!" With Gengar’s promise confird once again, Ash snapped his fingers and said very cheerfully.

Then he turned to the anxious girl and said, "Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of Gastly. I’ve heard your story... after all this ti, that person is no longer around. He’s probably been reincarnated, so let go of your obsession and find him in the cycle of reincarnation. I’m sure your feelings for him will lead you to him."
