Aggron let out a painful roar, its limbs trembled slightly under the relentless flas, but its eyes still burned with a desperate resolve.

On Paul’s cold face, there was no ripple of emotion; this result was entirely within his calculations. Having watched so many of Ash’s matches and having battled Ash through a whole round, he had already grasped Ash’s character.

Although he couldn’t fully predict the strength of Ash’s Pokemon, within the lineup Ash had used against Torterra, it was expected by Paul that Ash would choose Venusaur.

Though facing Venusaur was also quite disadvantageous, it was still better than facing Charizard.
