Now reading: Chapter 711 - 380: Libra Badge Acquired! Next Target from Pokemon: This Ash Is Too Versatile, a Fantasy novel by The writing fairy is about to starve to death..

"Roar!" Slaking’s bellow filled the air, and the white light around its body surged, temporarily suppressing Pikachu’s electricity.

This sudden reversal of the situation made Victor cry out in delight, but his joy was abruptly cut short in less than a second.

Because the force that suppressed Pikachu’s power flickered like a shooting star, and in a mont Pikachu’s electric light surged back up!

With the support of the Light Ball and their bond, even Slaking, skilled in Physical Attack, was no match for Pikachu.

If the bond between Slaking and Norman enhanced Slaking’s power, then the bond between Ash and Pikachu magnified their power even more!

In terms of pure bonds, Pikachu believed that his bond with Ash was the strongest in the world!

"Pika! Pika! Pika! Pika! Pikachu!!!" Pikachu’s small face contorted fiercely within the covering of electricity, and the enormous electric light spread across the entire field.

With Pikachu’s cry, the golden thunder completely overwheld Slaking, and the brilliance shone so brightly that the onlookers couldn’t see what was happening inside the field.

Deafening blasts continued to ring out in the arena, and the spreading shockwaves repeatedly struck the barriers.

As ti passed, the flickering electric light on the field began to gradually fade, and everyone lowered their hands from their faces to look towards the field.

Pikachu and the towering Slaking stood intertwined, backs turned to each other. Pikachu panted heavily, trembling continuously.

On the other side, Slaking remained motionless. Less than a second later, it let out a wail before collapsing directly onto the ground.

Ti seed to freeze at that mont, and the winner of this battle was finally decided.

"Slaking is unable to battle, and Pikachu is the winner! The ultimate victor is Ash from Pallet Town!!" Priscilla proclaid the result with determination after a brief mont of astonishnt.

Priscilla’s voice was like a switch, bringing the silent arena to life with voices rising in waves.

The children marveled at the clash they had just witnessed. May felt a touch regretful for her father’s defeat, but this thrilling duel had taught her much.

May believed that although her father lost, he still held a sense of honor. It wasn’t that her father wasn’t strong enough, it was just that Ash was too formidable; that extraordinary Pikachu was undoubtedly one of a kind in the world.

Even without ntioning Pikachu’s special skills, the fact that it could contend with Slaking in terms of strength was already extraordinary.

Who could have imagined that the tiny Pikachu would erge as the victor against Slaking’s massive form?

This only proved how extraordinary Ash’s Pikachu truly was, so even though her father lost, May felt only minor regret and wasn’t overly disappointed.

This outco was expected, perhaps even logical. From the mont Pikachu used Iron Tail to launch Slaking through the air, the situation on the battlefield had already beco quite clear.

A head-to-head clash with Slaking ant Pikachu was no longer inferior, let alone the final collision where Pikachu used the Electric Type’s Volt Tackle, a move more powerful than Iron Tail and a sa-type skill.

If nothing unexpected happened, Slaking’s defeat was practically inevitable.

So while May felt a twinge of regret for her father, she wasn’t too bothered.

But Victor, standing next to her, was different.

He stared blankly at the scene of Slaking’s body falling, disbelief written all over his face. Victor couldn’t believe his father had lost just like that.

"How... How could Dad lose... It’s impossible! How could Dad lose!" Victor shouted in emotional turmoil.

Norman, who had been planning to recall Slaking and then approach Ash for a handshake, glanced towards Victor.

Victor’s emotional outburst drew the attention of the crowd. May furrowed her brows slightly and placed a small hand on Victor’s head, saying, "Victory and defeat are common in battle. No one can always win; even if Father lost this ti, it doesn’t an he will never stand up again."

"Failure is not shaful; not being able to rise again after failing is. If you can’t understand this, how can you hope to surpass Father and beco the strongest Trainer?"

Norman, who had intended to approach, smiled upon hearing May’s words, realizing he no longer needed to worry about teaching his son.

His daughter had already beco a mature Trainer.

Afterward, Norman recalled Slaking, approached Ash and shook hands. "It was a wonderful battle. I hope we can have another match soday."

"We will, Mr. Norman. Let’s battle again in the future," Ash replied with a sincere smile.

This seemingly uneventful battle actually brought him considerable benefits. If given the chance, he would like to battle Norman again.

Because of this battle, Pikachu had reached Mid-Elite Level, Lucario had reached Elite Level, and Charizard’s level was about to rise.

The experience gained from fighting powerful Trainers couldn’t be matched by battling roadside Trainers a thousand tis over.

For Norman, too, this closely matched duel added a lot to his experience. Back in Clentine City, he didn’t have battles of this caliber.

Becoming a Gym Leader in the Johto Region was truly great.

"This is proof of victory over the Chenghua Gym: the Libra Badge. Take it, Ash." Norman pulled out an inverted-eight-shaped badge from his clothes—proof of defeating the Chenghua Gym, the Libra Badge.

"I got the Libra Badge!"

"Pika, Pikachu!!"

Ash and Pikachu struck their signature victory pose, celebrating together.

Not far away, although Victor looked a little gloomy, he had accepted the reality with May’s encouragent. He knew, deep down, that his father wasn’t invincible. He just struggled to accept that his father was beaten by soone his sister’s age.

Even if soone were to defeat Father, it should be an Elite Champion or soone of Father’s age, not soone so much younger.

The fact that Father was defeated by soone younger was indescribably humiliating.

But with May’s encouragent, Victor turned a corner. Even though Ash was the sa age as May, his power was on a completely different level. Although Ash had previously battled neck and neck with May’s ace, Blaziken, Ash hadn’t even shown his true strength.

And though it looked closely matched, that was just the process. In reality, Ash’s Venusaur overwheld with a Negative Attribute advantage.

Ash hadn’t even unleashed his true power yet, highlighting the vast gap between them.

"When I set out to beco a Trainer, I’ll definitely avenge Father!" Victor declared his vow of vengeance to Ash.

To this, Ash simply smiled nonchalantly and replied, "Alright, I’ll be waiting for you."

All his life, Ash had been chasing after others. In just six short months, the roles had reversed, and now he was the one being chased. It was a rather peculiar feeling.

The challenge at Chenghua Gym ended with Ash defeating Norman three to zero. Only a few students knew about this battle, ensuring that it wouldn’t be widely publicized.

If news spread that Pikachu, a little Pokemon, managed to overpower Slaking in a direct clash, perhaps even causing its defeat, it would undoubtedly cause an uproar.

Having secured the Chenghua Gym badge, Ash and his friends also planned to accompany Serena to earn the local Jiegeng Gym badge.

Currently, Serena only had one Pokemon, and it was uncertain if the Jiegeng Gym would agree to a one-on-one battle with her.

Upon hearing that Ash and the others were heading to challenge the Jiegeng Gym, May and Victor expressed their curiosity and asked to co along.

Though they lived in the sa city, they had never watched battles at the Jiegeng Gym. At most, they had only greeted the Gym Leader upon arriving in the city and hadn’t interacted since.

The more, the rrier, Ash readily agreed to their joining. So the group of four beca six, marching towards the Jiegeng Gym.

To those unaware, it might have seed like they were going to stir up trouble.
