"Husband, here I am right in front of you, safe and sound!" Mu Anhan knew he was angry, so she quickly hugged his neck and tried to act cute.
"Mu Anhan, sit up straight!" Gu Xiaozhan said in a deep voice.
Mu Anhan glared at him. Did he want her to sit like a primary school student, all upright and proper?
Fine! She sat up straight and obediently awaited a scolding.
"Who gave you permission to return to the Gu Family?" he asked coldly.
Mu Anhan replied obediently, "Mom called back later."
"You weren’t aware of the danger?"
"I knew, but I had a plan to handle it."
"Your plan was to go please that old man from the Gu Family?" Gu Xiaozhan’s eyes turned fierce and gloomy as he spoke.
Mu Anhan felt as if a bucket of ice water was poured over her, chilling her down to her toes. She looked at him, "Are you jealous of your dad?"
This was the core of his anger. This man couldn’t stand her speaking a word or doing a thing with any male creature.
"He’s married four wives publicly, not to ntion how many more won he has who aren’t publicly acknowledged!" Gu Xiaozhan’s voice was icy cold.
"But I only see him as your father!" Mu Anhan explained. "He’s so old, older than my grandfather! How could I possibly have feelings for him? Gu Xiaozhan, I beg you to be reasonable, okay?"
Worried about her, Gu Xiaozhan got retorted by her and said in a deep voice, "But how about him? Can you guarantee he doesn’t have feelings for you?"
"Oh my God, is this elite circle really so ssy?" Mu Anhan shrank her neck, her big eyes misty. "Husband, don’t be mad at , I won’t dare anymore."
No matter what he said, for now, she’d obediently admit her mistakes.
Otherwise, letting soone else’s affairs harm their marital relationship was sothing Mu Anhan didn’t want.
Seeing her sitting upright, with a sincere and proactive attitude, and her waiting up late for him to eat noodles, all his worries turned into tenderness.
He reached out and picked her up, "Let’s sleep."
Mu Anhan secretly breathed a sigh of relief; indeed, attitude determines everything.
The two lay in bed together, and Mu Anhan snuggled up to him, his scent making her feel incredibly at ease, and she quickly fell asleep.
Gu Xiaozhan looked at her under the moonlight streaming through the window; though shadows hindered his view, he still showed deep affection.
He stroked her beautiful hair and softly murmured, "Actually, I know you’re worried the kids aren’t safe at the Gu Family. You want a good relationship with them, so you’re fearless! But deep-seated problems can’t be solved overnight; the bond between the kids and you can’t be untangled swiftly either."
Mu Anhan woke up early in the morning because her hunger roused her.
Last night at Gu Family Manor, she didn’t eat much.
She returned to Tianqin Residence intending to wait for Gu Xiaozhan to co back and eat noodles together, but since what she made was unpalatable, she didn’t eat at all.
She opened her eyes; it was just dawn outside, and beside her still slept a familiar person.
She looked at him for quite a while, this man, even when asleep, was so handso!
She leaned over and kissed his lips, seeing he didn’t wake, she muttered, "You were so harsh with last night, yet who was it that married into the Gu Family? Knowing well the Gu Family is a den of dragons and tigers, what were you thinking?"
Before she could finish muttering, the man opened his eyes.
