Mu Anhan watched the man approaching her, his well-defined and resolute features dazzling under the crystal lights, while his deep gaze was like a turbulent ocean, unfathomable.
What was he planning to do? He carried an unknown danger that she couldn’t quite grasp.
Mu Anhan instinctively reached out to block his chest, but she heard the man scoff, "What? Is this a refusal? Didn’t we agree that this was right and proper?"
Her palm felt as if it had been burned by his scorching chest, and she quickly withdrew her small hand.
No matter what he intended, she would bravely accept it.
Thinking of this, she proactively wrapped her arms around his neck, "Husband, it’s just playing a marital ga, a bit of reluctance before acceptance. Surely, you can handle that?"
This little fox was quick to respond, but it was clear Gu Xiaozhan wouldn’t entirely believe her.
"Mu Anhan, my marriage is serious and sacred, not sothing to play with," Gu Xiaozhan rebuked coldly.
This man is really a blockhead! Mu Anhan silently grumbled; clearly a man loyal to love and marriage, yet he squandered his good hand and made a ss of it.
"Alright, alright, I was wrong!" Mu Anhan could adapt to circumstances and admitted promptly.
This admission lacked any sincerity! Gu Xiaozhan pursed his thin lips, sowhat displeased.
His hair dripped water onto her fair arm, and she said sweetly, "Husband, let dry your hair!"
Gu Xiaozhan didn’t refuse. He sat on the sofa, and she stood up, gently toweling his hair dry. Though a bit clumsy, her attitude was earnest.
Mu Anhan stood behind him, drying his hair while making a silly face.
After his hair dried, he prepared to go to the study to handle official business.
"Husband, can you co back early?" she eyed him expectantly.
Gu Xiaozhan changed into casual ho wear right in front of her.
Mu Anhan blushed, her heart racing. Her husband was so good-looking everywhere!
"I was frightened tonight, scared I won’t be able to sleep alone. I want you to co back to the bedroom early to accompany ," Mu Anhan coaxed.
Gu Xiaozhan nodded, "Okay."
He left the bedroom with big strides and went to the study.
Lie Huo, Mu Shaochen, and Tang Haolang were already waiting in the study. Before he arrived, Tang Haolang had been making bets with his chatty nature.
"Want to bet? Mr. Gu won’t be coming to the study tonight."
Lie Huo was expressionless, completely disinterested.
Mu Shaochen, however, smiled pleasantly, "How would we bet?"
"Shao Chen, let’s wager; if Mr. Gu cos, I lose a thousand yuan to you, and vice versa." Unable to resist, Tang Haolang was talkative everywhere.
"Deal," Mu Shaochen nodded.
Shortly after the bet was placed, Gu Xiaozhan appeared in the study.
Tang Haolang lost!
He thought Mr. Gu would surely want to go to bed early with the Madam. Although the current Madam had a dark side, she was a gentle cutie in front of Mr. Gu. How could he resist the Madam’s charm?
"Mr. Gu..." The three greeted respectfully in unison.
Gu Xiaozhan sat in the black executive chair, his presence imposing. There was, however, a hint of warmth on his usually cold face tonight.
Lie Huoxian reported first, "Mr. Gu, Jiang Fan is still holding out, not revealing the mastermind. Although we suspect it’s Pei Wei—the First Prince—we haven’t found evidence yet."
"No rush. Pei Wei wants to play, so we’ll play with him!" Gu Xiaozhan said, exuding a profound, all-encompassing deanor.
Next was Tang Haolang, "Mr. Gu, the Madam asked about Shao Chen’s injury. I told her you were already seeking the Divine Doctor, Tian Can. The Madam seed very concerned about her third brother."
Gu Xiaozhan said nothing, his deep and inscrutable eyes turning to Mu Shaochen.
