Now reading: Chapter 35: Thanks to Boss Zhao from Practicing Medical Skills in a Small Clinic, a Fantasy novel by Fisherman by the River.

The wages for apprentices at clinics are generally very low, much lower than those of regular employees.

However, for dical students who have failed their licensing exams and did not pass their standardized training, it is a temporary solution. They can first gain so experience at the clinic and then find a way to retake the exams.

Xiaogao seed to have gotten used to being scolded, hunching his neck and taking off his work uniform, he swiftly walked towards Sunshine Clinic.

Boss Zhao, on the other hand, brewed himself a cup of goji berry health tea, sipping leisurely while admiring the slender figure of the young nurse at the clinic, patiently waiting for Xiaogao to bring back good news.

"Transferring that elderly lady with an extrasystole to Sunshine Clinic was truly ingenious! That kid Li fell for it right away, lacking both experience and money. Seeing the old lady’s son and daughter-in-law, they’re definitely not ordinary people. If Li Jingsheng sses this up, he’s dood. Sunshine Clinic is sure to go under, and when that happens, Tang Ping will have no choice but to co running to ..."

Thinking excitedly, a smug smile unknowingly appeared on Boss Zhao’s greasy face.

"Boss, it’s rare to see you so happy!"

A young nurse ca over with a material request form for Boss Zhao to sign.

Quick Recovery Clinic is growing bigger, and dication and consumables all require signatures to be issued from the warehouse.

"This goji berry health tea from Jinkui Clinic is really good, I need to grab a few more bags from Boss Ye later on."

Boss Zhao, imagining the competition eliminated and the possibility of recruiting the beautiful Tang Ping, felt even better, and even the tea seed to taste sweeter.

"We have our own clinic, why do we get goji berries from Jinkui Clinic?"

The young nurse asked puzzledly.

"Hehe, there’s a lot you don’t understand in this! If you want to learn, I can teach you slowly after work."

Boss Zhao laughed mysteriously, his eyes appraising the young nurse’s slender figure.

The young nurse, although young, wasn’t entirely clueless.

Her expression changed slightly, and she quickly declined, "Uh... I need to rush ho after work, otherwise, my dad might break my legs. Here’s the new materials request form, please sign it."

As Boss Zhao took the form, he touched her hand.

Startled, she recoiled as if she had been electrocuted.

"You could just tell your dad you’re working overti! Isn’t he a fan of barbecue? I could take you out, eat all you want."

"I wouldn’t dare lie to my dad. If there’s no issue with this form, could you sign it quickly, the patients are waiting!"

The young nurse, freshly out of college and inexperienced, was quite clever in her dealings.

Working at Boss Zhao’s clinic, the salary was decent, being paid on ti each month.

The only downside was being vulnerable to his harassnt.

But as long as she stayed alert and didn’t take advantage of little benefits, the most would be his occasional hand touching.

Any further inappropriate actions were rare.

Having a family and business, normally n should act reasonably.

If any nurse or female doctor agreed to go barbecue, drink, or go to karaoke with Boss Zhao after work, she probably had her own issues.

Judging from Boss Zhao’s behavior, he seed to be an old hand at this ga.

Knowing Jinkui Clinic had backing, he flattered them without reservation. As for competitors like Sunshine Clinic who lacked any backing, he’d use every rotten trick in the book.

"Damn, it’s been over an hour, and Xiaogao still isn’t back?"

Boss Zhao had already drank two big cups of goji berry health tea.

Watching intently, the man he sent out hadn’t returned.

Just as Boss Zhao was about to go check himself, Xiaogao ca back.

"Why did it take so long?"

Boss Zhao asked discontentedly.

"Didn’t you tell to find out the situation? I tried many ways to figure out what’s going on over there." Xiaogao appeared slightly smug.

"Spit it out!"

Burst on hearing that Xiaogao had gathered information, Boss Zhao’s spirit lifted slightly.

Xiaogao remained silent for a while.

"Are you giving birth or what? Spill it out already!"

Seeing the lad dawdle, anger surged up within Boss Zhao.

"I’m just organizing my words!"

Xiaogao looked wronged.

"Fine, fine, I’ll ask, you answer. What ended up happening with the two family mbers causing trouble at Sunshine Clinic?"

Boss Zhao felt he’d lose years off his life waiting for Xiaogao’s report.

The kid was fine otherwise, did whatever he was told, earning only 1,500 yuan monthly, less than the nurses. Except he was a bit stiff, not agile in doing things.

He wondered if the kid read too much, becoming a bookworm.

"The family mbers left eventually!"

This ti, Xiaogao didn’t dally.

"Didn’t the old lady have an incident at Sunshine Clinic? Were they demanding compensation or considering a lawsuit?"

Having such a blockhead employee left Boss Zhao almost fuming mad.

"No compensation, no lawsuit."

Seeing Boss Zhao’s face grow colder, Xiaogao dared not delay another second in answering.

"The family just let it go?"

Boss Zhao was puzzled, this shouldn’t be.

How could that kid Li have the skill to silence the irate family coming in for accountability?

"The man said he’d co back next ti to thank Doctor Li."

Xiaogao said.

Poof!

Boss Zhao spat all the goji tea he had just drunk out on the unsuspecting Xiaogao’s face.

Ptooey ptooey!

Xiaogao hurriedly wiped his face, spitting out.

Imagining the tea swilled in Boss Zhao’s mouth spraying on him filled him with extre disgust.

Yet he couldn’t vent his anger.

"Sorry, I lost control for a mont! Use a couple napkins to wipe up!"

Boss Zhao had his own ways of keeping people in line.

Though he often scolded Xiaogao and harassed his nurses, several healthcare staff had been working for Quick Recovery Clinic for seven to eight years.

"No problem, no problem!"

All Xiaogao could say, as he took so napkins to wipe his face.

"Wasn’t that man causing trouble for Sunshine Clinic? How co he wants to thank Li Jingsheng instead?"

Boss Zhao couldn’t make any sense of it.

This plot wasn’t right!

"I heard that after Li Jingsheng admitted that lady, he found that she wasn’t suffering from a cold but heart disease, and refused to give her an IV. Later, as the lady was leaving, she had a heart attack, and Li Jingsheng did everything he could to save her..."

Getting sprayed in the face made Xiaogao speak more promptly.

But he kept his distance now, for fear of getting sprayed again.

Boss Zhao listened silently for a long ti, his face shifting continuously.

He appeared more grim than anything else.

"I really underestimated that kid Li Jingsheng, he managed to diagnose it after all." Boss Zhao was shocked to realize he had underestimated Li Jingsheng’s dical skills.

"What was Sunshine Clinic’s business like when you got there?"

"No one around, just Li Jingsheng alone in the clinic practicing suturing."

"Looks like this uproar has had a negative impact on Sunshine Clinic. That kid practicing suturing is pointless, no patients, he might as well practice on himself."

Boss Zhao’s face visibly improved upon hearing Sunshine Clinic had no patients at all.

"Oh, right, while I was out gathering information, Li Jingsheng noticed . He was very hospitable, saying he must thank you properly and asked to bring you this, saying you might possibly find it useful."

Rembering, Xiaogao fetched a plastic bag from his pocket, with sothing seemingly inside.

Boss Zhao took it, opening it to find—

A note, along with two sealed pills.
