Emily, who was standing behind Snow, laughed with amusent as she looked between Nathan and . "Is this a coback?"

I frowned at Emily. She smirked and fixed her eyes on Nathan. "You’re rejected by your fated mate?"

I gasped softly. Of course, Nathan must have spent these five years with Sophia. They’d probably beco the proper Alpha and Luna of Nightfall Pack by now.

Nathan scoffed and actually growled at her. "I was never married... to anyone, Emily."

Nathan glanced at worriedly, but I quickly looked away, afraid he’d noticed my reaction. I’d just indirectly rejected his declaration of love, yet here I was, acting like a lovesick teenager.

Emily laughed again, drawing my attention as Mary stepped out of the kitchen. Her eyes widened with shock as she recognized Nathan, which wasn’t surprising considering his status as CEO of a prestigious company.

Nathan ignored Emily and walked slowly toward Snow. My daughter stared at his face intently, as if morizing his features. I swallowed hard as I watched them, my heart thundering so loudly I feared I might pass out.

I held my breath watching them. Snow looked exactly like , so I doubted Nathan would imdiately recognize her as his daughter. Still, I trusted instinct more than facts that could be manipulated.
