Snow’s POV
My father got in the driver’s seat and started driving. We bought takeout from my favorite fast food place before going ho. Dad was carrying the paper bag of food as I ran toward our house and scread when I saw mommy and Pierre on the couch.
"Mommy!" I threw myself into her arms and started giving her kisses all over her face.
She was laughing while I did that, and from the corner of my eye, I saw Pierre looking at with disgust. I smirked and grabbed his arm, putting my arm around his neck.
"AAHH! MOMMY, HELP!" Pierre shouted but I ignored him.
When daddy ca in, he gave the food to Aunt Phoebe who imdiately prepared it. My eyes lit up when I saw the delicious chicken.
"How’s school, sweet heart?" Mommy asked while I was eating chicken.
I was sitting on the carpeted floor. Mommy was sitting on the couch behind stroking my long hair, and daddy was sitting beside her.
"School’s fine, mommy," I answered and smirked. "I got the highest scores on the exam again!"
Mommy hugged and kissed my hair. "I’m so proud of my baby!"
Pierre hissed. "I saw on the internet that grades don’t define you!"
"Says the one who’s not studying well," Mommy sang and Pierre gasped.
"Mommy!"
Mommy laughed and daddy sat beside Pierre. He put his arm on our youngest’s shoulder. "Don’t mind them, bud. It’s fine as long as we’re handso and girls like us."
They high-fived but daddy groaned when grandma suddenly ca and smacked his head.
"You brat! What are you teaching your kid?"
Daddy groaned again. "Mom!"
I smiled while watching them. I don’t know what our family went through. I was too young to understand everything happening around us. All I could think about then was playing, and I didn’t understand fighting for happiness. But now it’s different. I understand everything now.
I looked at grandma, grandpa, Aunt Phoebe, Pierre, mommy and daddy. This is it. This is what my mom and dad fought for. They fought for this family. They fought for our happiness and I couldn’t thank them enough for fighting.
I rember when daddy wasn’t with us and I only had mom. We were okay but we weren’t completely happy. Mommy tried so hard to make happy and she succeeded, but I felt like sothing was missing.
And this is what was missing. The complete family mommy fought for. She struggled but she didn’t give up. She fought for daddy. Daddy fought for her and together they fought for this family.
I understand everything now. It’s not the place that makes ho, it’s the people.
My mommy and daddy are my fighters. They’re the walls and roof that protected . They didn’t care if they got hurt as long as they could protect this family and each other.
From when I was five, I knew happiness was what my heart wanted. I turned eighteen and that happiness continued. I know mom and dad would fight for this happiness again. And if everything went back to that ti, I know they’d make the sa decision.
The Debutante Ball proceeded as scheduled.
Now I’m eighteen. I’m wearing a pink elegant dress while walking down the grand staircase. I couldn’t help but tear up looking at my loved ones watching walk down. I am this family’s princess. I am this family’s treasure and I know I’ll always be the sa.
My guy friends are watching with admiration. They’re waiting for and I know they’ll fight over who gets to be my escort. I chuckled when they pushed each other, trying to get up the stairs to walk with , but a stern man clearing his throat stopped them.
I gasped when dad walked between them. He’s frowning just like he always frowns when he sees my friends, but when he looked at , his eyes softened and he flashed the sweetest smile.
"You’re so gorgeous, my princess!" He greeted with a smile and I smiled back.
"You look handso too, daddy."
He chuckled and touched his chin. "I know, right?"
He held my hand and glared at Oliver, who’s my closest friend among them, before he guided to the dance floor. I was introduced earlier while I was at the top of the staircase and now it was ti for the eighteen roses.
Daddy was my first dance. He kept reminding about how my friends had crushes on and kept saying he’d skin them alive if they tried to court while I was still in college. I just laughed at him while he said that. I know he’s just protecting , not being strict. He’s afraid my story will be like his story with mom, but I don’t really mind since they ended up together and they’re happy with our complete family.
"I love you so much, my princess. Always rember that no matter what happens, you’ll always be my baby girl, my princess, my treasure."
I smiled and gently kissed his cheek. "I love you too, daddy. Don’t be afraid because I won’t get hurt and you won’t lose . I’ll always be with you and mommy even if I get married soday. And if I end up with one of them, I trust they’ll make happy just like how you make mommy happy."
He nodded and I saw tears in his eyes. "I know, my princess. Thank you for understanding your overreacting daddy."
I chuckled and squeezed his hand before he walked away. My second and following dances were with my uncles Matt and Mason,and finally my friends, who looked very happy as soon as they danced with .
Oliver was my last dance. When the music started, he pulled closer.
"I like you, Snow. And I’m willing to wait until you fall for ." His eyes were full of emotions. The sa emotions I saw in dad’s eyes when he looked at mommy. I know what that is. Is he really in love?
My lips parted as I stared at him. I don’t know what to say. Dad has been telling about their feelings but now that one of them confessed, I don’t know what to do. My heart was racing so hard and fast inside my chest.
But then I slled sothing. A sweet, intoxicating scent that made Lola stir inside .
"That’s not coming from him," Lola said, alert.
The scent was definitely not from Oliver.
