Kyra’s POV
After our one wild night together, I asked Kieran to give so space the next morning—but two whole days went by without a word from him. His absence sent my inner wolf, Sylvia, into a frenzy. "He should be here," she kept whining day after day, pacing ceaselessly in my mind.
Over the weekend, my apartnt was unusually quiet. Even Nathan hadn’t tried to see or talk to . Strangely, that calm comforted a bit. Deep down, I knew they were just trying to give so breathing room—I knew them well enough. Their persistence was legendary; they never stopped reminding of what they thought I deserved.
"Ma’am, our orders are piling up today. It’s keeping us busy—but that’s good news," said Yara as she arranged bouquets in the shop.
I couldn’t help but smile at my assistant Yara as we sat together, working on so floral arrangents. Other staff mbers busied themselves at another table, crafting similar masterpieces. Yara was right. It had been hectic since this morning, and I was grateful for the distraction.
"Miss Kyra."
One of my employees approached, holding a bouquet of red roses—a display she had just put together. I straightened up, an involuntary lift of my chin giving pause.
"Yes?" I replied.
"A client called and asked that these be given to you, Miss Kyra."
At Sylvia’s wistful howl in my mind, my heart skipped a beat. Red roses from a client? My thoughts raced to Kieran—he was the only one inclined to gift sothing like that.
"Oh my goodness!" Yara gasped, clutching her mouth. "You’ve got a secret admirer?"
Her remark sent a blush heating my cheeks. Was he really pursuing ?
I offered an awkward smile as I accepted the bouquet from the employee. Yara giggled and edged closer. "So, tell —has he been pursuing you, or is he already officially your boyfriend?"
I shook my head and slid my chair away from her. "What are you talking about?"
"C’mon, ma’am!" Yara urged playfully. "I know you’re the boss, but I’m curious. Really—I an, it’s not at all surprising. You’re stunning and brilliant. n would be lining up just for a chance with you."
Lining up? I could hardly believe I was hearing that. Back in school, I’d stopped dating anyone else because my attention was solely fixed on Nathan. I had let my world revolve around him—until I lost sight of myself.
I didn’t have an answer for Yara. She was chatty, and I enjoyed her company most of the ti.
"Ma’am, how many boyfriends have you really had? I bet you’ve had plenty. You’re too gorgeous—I can’t help but be curious about your love life."
"Yara, why don’t you get back to work?"
She laughed in a teasing tone. "But first, tell —how’s your love life been? You know, an active sex life can be so much fun. A woman should take the initiative to explore what she really craves in a man."
Her words painted my cheeks crimson. I pushed her chair back with a hint of unease, my mind drifting back to that night with Kieran—and all those late evenings I’d spent with Nathan.
I bit my lower lip, letting my thoughts wander to the darker corners of my mind. When it ca to matters in the bedroom, I couldn’t help but compare the two Alphas. Both were incredible lovers—in their own distinct ways. Nathan was tender and gentle, whispering sweet nothings as he caressed ; yet Kieran possessed an unbridled passion and possessiveness that stirred sothing fierce within my wolf. Just the thought of his touch sent shivers up my spine.
An uncontrollable surge of desire flickered back to life as I recalled every kiss, every touch from Kieran. His hunger was overwhelming—I often felt incapable of fully satisfying him, even when his fingers and lips did all the talking.
"Kieran really knows how to satisfy us," Sylvia murmured in my mind. "Nathan always treats us like fragile glass."
My eyes widened in shock. Had I really just been imagining Kieran on a bright, sunny day? Oh, dear!
The thought made feel so awkward. I resud my work on the bouquets while Yara continued to dish on sex and the whereabouts of the perfect boyfriend. She even joked that dating was fun because soone would always be there to warm your bed—and soone to brag about to your old high school friends.
Her chattering embarrassed , yet I couldn’t deny the warm pleasure of her company.
The following days were as busy as the first. Every morning, Kieran sent a bouquet from his own flower shop, enlisting one of my employees to drop it off—sotis bundled with a teddy bear, chocolates, snacks, or even lunch. He did it every single day without fail, and I slowly grew used to the surprise.
On the fifth day, I found myself staring at the music box Kieran had given . Each day, he surprised in new ways—and I adored it. Nathan and Kieran were truly different. Nathan showed his affection through gentle, attentive gestures, especially when he missed . Kieran, on the other hand, preferred material tokens of his desire. Comparing them wasn’t sothing I ant to do, but thanks to Yara’s constant reminders, I’d been weighing them up these past several days.
"Look at that beautiful smile," Yara teased suddenly, jarring from my reverie. I hadn’t even noticed I’d been idly tracing the intricate carvings on the music box with a silly grin.
"Go on, hurry up and ask him out," she prodded.
Hearing her, I couldn’t help but laugh. "Stop it, Yara."
She tittered, "Just go on a date. Let your lonely nights sizzle with excitent. I’d be more than happy to offer you so tips on positions and how to please a man, ma’am."
"Yara!" I roared half-jokingly, unable to conceal my warmth as I covered my flushed cheeks.
Our laughter filled the store—until the door swung open, interrupting her risqué suggestions. Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted. The unmistakable scent of cedar and musk announced the arrival of an Alpha, one that instantly registered with my inner wolf.
Kieran stood in the doorway, impeccably dressed in a suit that, despite a hint of dishevelnt in his hair, couldn’t conceal his wild vitality. His blue eyes locked onto mine with the focus of a predator.
Beside , Yara let out a string of colorful curses as she slowly rose from her chair. Without missing a beat, she dashed over to greet Kieran, seemingly oblivious to the unabashed, hungry glint in his gaze directed at .
"Good afternoon, sir. We’re about to close soon, but we’d be happy to assist you," Yara said, still trying to maintain her composure.
Kieran’s tone was low and commanding as he spoke. "I’d like to see your boss. Could you please let her know?"
Instantly, Yara’s eyes widened as she recognized who he was.
Damn it!
