As for getting it back—
That wouldn’t be a problem at all. She would sell it right here after the Autumn Trade Fair ended.
’I’m sure plenty of local factories will love my printer.’
Xie Changning’s smile was so cryptic it left everyone completely baffled.
The train ride from Chuncheng to Shencheng City took two full days. They wouldn’t arrive until noon on the third day.
With no machine to assemble, Xie Changning had basically slept for two days. However—
No matter how nice the sleeper car was, it couldn’t compare to her own place. It was too crowded and noisy for her to sleep well. By the ti she toughed it out and disembarked in Shencheng City, Xie Changning felt she had heavy, dark circles under her eyes.
Wang Guofu had to help Xie Changning off the train.
"Not just anyone can handle these trains. My back is killing ," Little Chen grumbled under his breath, following behind Xie Changning.
Shencheng City was a long way from Chuncheng. If they wanted to co and sell their machine, the train was unavoidable.
Xie Changning chuckled. "There will be plenty more train rides in the future. Don’t co crying to if I don’t let you co next ti."
"Hey, Director! I was just kidding. I love riding the train. I really do!"
Seeing his chance to co next ti slipping away, how could Little Chen stand for that?
’I have to co! How could I not?’
Xie Changning stifled a laugh and shot him a teasing glance.
As they were talking, they spotted soone in the distance holding a cardboard sign that read, "Welco, Comrades from Chuncheng!"
Xie Changning followed the large group forward.
The arrival of such a large and imposing group drew quite a bit of attention.
It wasn’t just their guide holding a sign. There were others for other cities, each person responsible for greeting a different city’s delegation.
A motor coach was waiting to pick up Xie Changning and her group.
As soon as they boarded, everyone instinctively made space for Xie Changning, ensuring she had a comfortable seat.
Xie Changning didn’t refuse, simply thanking them.
The coach slowly pulled away. As it passed through the streets, the mbers of the R&D team turned their heads curiously to take in the outside scenery.
Xie Changning gazed at the streets outside and couldn’t help but feel a wave of emotion.
’Shencheng City right now is a far cry from the bustling tropolis it will be in forty or fifty years.’
After driving for a while, the coach arrived at a rather large guest house. "All directors and comrades, please follow off the bus."
Once they disembarked, they found the guest house’s facilities to be excellent—far more advanced than what they were used to in Chuncheng.
Xie Changning thought that was to be expected.
’After all, this place hosts the Guangzhou Trade Fair twice a year. With foreigners attending, how could the facilities be anything but top-notch?’
Xie Changning followed everyone upstairs and was ultimately assigned a room on the second floor.
After Little Chen put all of Xie Changning’s belongings away, he went to the room where he was staying to get so rest.
Having not slept well for two days, Xie Changning told them, "Don’t wake for lunch. I need to catch up on my sleep." ’If I don’t get so rest, I don’t think I’ll even have the energy to eat.’
"Alright, Director."
Once everyone had settled in, things quieted down. The mont Xie Changning lay down on her bed, she was fast asleep.
Outside the guest house, Little Chen and the others were practically buzzing with excitent. It was their first ti out of the province and they had traveled so far—how could they not be thrilled?
At alti, their eyes darted everywhere, unable to take it all in.
"Let’s get so rest. We have to set up the exhibition booth tomorrow," one of the older comrades reminded them as they ate.
Everyone agreed that made sense. They could explore after the Autumn Trade Fair was over.
So after eating, they all went to catch up on their sleep.
When the others ca downstairs later, they were baffled to see no one from the Anong County Machinery Factory. They had no idea where they had all gone.
"Oh, they’re all upstairs sleeping. Said they needed to rest up and conserve their energy."
A staff mber provided the explanation.
Hearing this, they exchanged glances, shook their heads, and headed outside. "Ah, to be young. How long does it take to set up a booth, anyway?"
If the Anong County Machinery Factory team wasn’t going, then they would!
It wasn’t until everyone returned in the evening that they saw Xie Changning having dinner with her people.
"Sister Changning, did you sleep all afternoon?"
Wang Lisheng couldn’t help but ask.
He could clearly see she looked much more rested than before.
"Mhm. If I didn’t get so rest, my body felt too heavy. So I slept deeply," Xie Changning nodded.
The Chuncheng Screw Factory had also co with the goal of earning foreign currency.
In truth, the Chuncheng Screw Factory didn’t need to be there. Their dostic orders alone were enough to keep them busy. However, after they successfully developed the new product from the blueprints Xie Changning had given them, they felt it would be a waste not to sell it abroad.
Their factory had recently expanded, and its production capacity had caught up.
They were no longer worried about delaying dostic orders!
They wanted to earn money from those foreigners, too!
The fact that they had not only failed to earn foreign money before but had actually lost so had left Wang Lisheng and Director Li simring with frustration. This ti, they were prepared to go all out.
After dinner, everyone went to get so rest.
Xie Changning, however, held a eting with her own staff. "Our booth doesn’t require much setup. Our main goal tomorrow is assembly. Just put the machine together and make sure it prints correctly. That’s all."
"Yes, Director!"
After the eting, Xie Changning dismissed her staff and went to rest herself.
As her pregnancy progressed, Xie Changning had beco more aware of how heavy her body felt.
Even though the spring water she drank kept her healthy, her large belly still hindered her movents, especially when it was ti to sleep. She had to sleep on her side.
For this trip to Shencheng City, she had specifically brought the body pillow Yue Yihan made for her.
It helped her sleep more soundly on her side.
The night passed dreamlessly.
Xie Changning woke up early the next morning. She sat up, yawned lazily, and stretched before finally getting out of bed to wash up and head downstairs for breakfast.
By the ti she ca downstairs, everyone was already dressed and ready to head out for breakfast.
Seeing her, they all greeted her warmly.
"Sister Changning, we’re heading out for breakfast. Want to join us?"
"Of course!"
Xie Changning gathered her team and followed the main group to the al.
With the Autumn Trade Fair just around the corner, the streets of Shencheng City were bustling with people from factories all across the country. Those who were acquainted would nod and greet one another upon eting.
Xie Changning trailed behind, walking at a leisurely pace.
She took in her surroundings and listened to their conversation.
"How much are you planning to sell your machine for?"
"Ah, these foreigners are crafty. My goal is just to break even."
"Just being able to sell one is a victory. The price is secondary."
Their words reached Xie Changning, causing her to frown slightly.
Her disapproval of their mindset was plain to see on her face.
Sensing her gaze, everyone turned to look at her. Wang Lisheng was particularly curious. "Sister Changning, how much do you plan to sell your printer for in US Dollars?"
"Twenty-five thousand."
WHAT!?
