The silence between them was big, too big with too many thoughts with too many things in their minds.
No one said anything. Benjamin wanted to push the plan, the deal, too much while not even really thinking about what Jas was currently going through, not even thinking about the family that he just joined.
While on the other side, Jas was exactly thinking about all of the things, how to make a move, a great move, that will connect them not just to power but truly make the family an exceptional one, one that is not backstabbing, one that holds their loyalty, their respect, and faith toward Jas to nothing.
"I need ti." Suddenly Jas spoke. "At least a week or two, without any bullshit happening."
"I get it, and we need ti too." Benjamin said. "We’re all over the place at the governnt, especially William’s fucking plan to fire people on corruption charges." He said as he sighed because it was just more fucking weight on him, on the agencies.
Making up evidence out of nowhere to actually arrest the exact sa people who were involved in corruption and in stealing the money is one of the riskiest moves to do. Not just risky but one misstep, one single mistake will lead to sothing far worse.
And that wasn’t just what was risky. They announced it live to all of the people, and even to those who they were aiming for. Those people will be prepared with who knows what files from decades ago, who knows what docunts with the signature of William, who knows what pictures or voice recordings which they cannot just protect themselves from but also attack back.
Even though they will take control over the dia, if a leak is going to happen there is no way they can stop all of it, voices will be ready against all of it.
But maybe exactly that is their weapon. Corruption can shield those who had their hand in it. Like everybody knew that William is corrupt like everybody else in the governnt, but especially now they need a leader, a leader who acts up when they have been attacked by a foreign terrorist group, and that was exactly William’s plan.
He is corrupt but he is the only one that is fit for the president role. He already built up his connections and web all over the congress, all over everywhere. The political system is no longer a real one but just an act to seem legitimate. That’s how corruption saves him, there is no other person who can step into his role, and in this way, he can arrest others, saying and judging they are corrupt, because the people will be happy about it.
That’s exactly what he is aiming for. Arrest those who are corrupt but went overboard with it.
Mayors, governors all over the fucking country have mansions, supercars, so of them even private jets. Those exactly are the ones that the public want to see behind bars or working in hard labor camps.
That’s exactly what William is going to do. He is going to satisfy the people with the arrests while keeping himself in the position and kind of cleaning his image.
The best weapon against corruption is corruption itself.
It becos like a chain, everyone holds a piece of it, and that chain only stays together if nobody pulls too hard. But once soone does, once they get too greedy or try to act like they own everything, others will step in to stop them. Not for justice, but to keep things balanced.
And now it was William who was keeping the balance, and to do it he needed to act against those he partied with in a strip club, sniffing white magic. Those people criticized the rescue team when a flood hit and people died, while their pockets were filled with the money that was supposed to go toward the floodgate.
For them, death and despair is nothing, just ans more money going to their pockets, but now William will set the image that he is magically changed and there are lots of things he can use as weapons as well.
Weapons against him, they can use.
But it’s already a lost battle for them. Of course it is. The national ergency just gave more power to all of the agencies, all of them backing up one single person, William.
They can fabricate whatever evidence, whatever lie they want to. They can manipulate, spread misinformation, and pull out files that no one even knew existed and to cover it up it is easy... make more lies up, the best way to deal with problems.
"I acutely want three weeks." Jas soundly spoke, pulling out Benjamin from his thoughts and confusing him.
"Three? That’s almost a month." He said, and he didn’t understand what the fuck he would do in three weeks, that’s just too long to got without doing anything.
"I want to go to Maraci, how hard would it be for ?"
"Maraci?" He asked back, already knowing why Jas brought it up, and sohow, it stressed him out even more than their previous conversation.
"Yeah, do other agencies have files about , like international ones?"
Benjamin thought about lying to him, but it would just fuck his loyalty even more.
"No, there isn’t anything going against you and Maraci only cares about those people who do business in their country." He said and for a mont he saw Jas’ eyes change. "But it is still very dangerous. If sohow they realize who you are, they can arrest you, thinking you’re plotting to start sothing over there. They are ruthless against criminals like how we’re going to be too."
As he said it Jas seed to think about it a bit, but looked once again at him. "So I can go right?" He asked, though it was more like an answer to his own question.
Benjamin took so ti because he knew this was going to stir more shit up, but he couldn’t just stop him.
"Yes, you can."
