After standing around and waiting for a few minutes while Jas gathered himself and pushed away the negative thoughts about himself and everything else, they finally moved toward the guard box next to the gate. It was surprising at first because the guards said nothing and didn’t even co close to him, yet the gates creaked open with just a nod from the guards.
Darvik huh... Jas thought as they went past the gate, and yeah, it was him or at least it needed to be him, because they didn’t inform anybody about this visit and they just got through the gate without even saying a word.
A long driveway led to the embassy with the greenery, and they were all looking around, literally srized by the view and land it got... moreover the big trees and even a lake that was on the side... sothing that really looked more like a luxury estate than a foreign country embassy... though it seed the exact opposite of what Darvik said and what this country is about.
Safe they say, but they noticed everything. Like guards with dogs patrolling, caras in the bushes on the trees, even anti ram barriers and of course the double gate. It was just too much for the protection of an embassy, though Jas was happy about it.
His family truly is safe with this amount of soldiers and protection around them and second he thought it was actually Darvik who did it.
And he was right. It was actually his strategy, the great Darvik strategy to try and please Jas with whatever he can show he says yes to the deal, so he put Jas’s family in the biggest protection and of course he knew about their arrival the exact minute they landed... the beauty of monitoring soone... and his family. Though it was strange to Jas as they were now walking through the second gate with again a dozen guards just staring at them and that’s it, not even a word. It was strange because Darvik’s deal was not a deal but a kind of pressure, an opportunity he can’t say no to... that no one would say no to, because it’s just too good, it’s for the protection of his loved ones, him and the wealth, all of it.
But now all of it looked like Darvik was pleasing Jas, but to be truthful it was also his strategy to get him even more... to bring another whale to Maraci. By showing him what they were capable of, how much protection they can give, let it be at an embassy or let it be anywhere in Maraci... they can protect... and it worked pretty much.
"How are you going to do it?" Mike’s question ca as they were nearing the building.
"Do what?"
"Like eting them... it is a reunion, very important if we look at it." Mike continued. "You need to be careful with your words... more importantly with Charlotte because she is still a child and might get angry and furious with you." He glanced at Jas. "Children are sensitive and it is Charlotte after all, her whole life was sensitive and she’s not even 10. Sothing like this is important for her, and who is she going to look at you."
Jas suddenly stopped as Mike finished it, leaning on his cane and realizing that he hadn’t even really thought about it... he just wanted to go in, say hi and... let life play out what exactly happens. But now that Mike said it, it was like what his father did, dipped for milk, though in Jas’ scenario he just sent Charlotte far away...
What the fuck should I say...
"I an I didn’t want to scare you or anything, just, you know, it’s kinda important." Mike wanted to correct himself, though he’d already ssed up, putting into Jas that little ick, little fear that didn’t co up until now... and well Mike noticed that Jas again started to turn white and start to stress. "Just say... I love you, it will an a lot." Mike suddenly said as he tried to help the situation.
Though even himself didn’t believe his own words... just saying I love you will do nothing in this situation... a situation when Charlotte is really old for his age ntally and knows what the fuck is going on.
Jas glanced at Mike. "I’ll try my best." He said and started walking again with determination in his voice to make everything better, and for a mont Mike was surprised by it... again he changed his energy for a determined one that wants to make it all work.
And there it was as they went up the stairs, the door opened up like a magic castle, and there was Christina who Linda called up for help.
"Mister Bellini." She said as she stepped forward and offered her hand which Jas shook. "Nice to have you here." She smiled. "I didn’t tell anyone that you would co, as Darvik and Linda instructed ."
"Yeah thanks, so where are they?" Jas asked back as he stared at her.
And she went silent, like even Mike and Jas just didn’t understand the situation... she just stood there smiling with that fake one. Well, she heard so many stories about this man Jas Bellini, and she was looking forward to eting him, but this man who is in favor of Darvik, of Linda, even the president... now standing in front of him... he was... nothing like... exciting.
Not sobody with great charisma, not soone that just radiates energy, at least not now... he just looked kinda average to her at first glance, like a handso guy but ain’t no danger or that harmful from the stories... though she knew pretty much he was one or at least judged by how Darvik and Linda spoke about him.
Yeah she knew he aint no agent but sothing more dangerous.
An individual who is capable of literally having the most powerful people in his inner circle, having them help him, hide his family, and provide protection. Even if, in her eyes, he was nothing, from the stories she just kept in her mind... don’t judge too quickly.
