It was once again Jas who fucked up, as he didn't say a single word about Benjamin.
To the people who know Jas and understand the family, who truly know the kind of power and influence he holds, the Bellini na is not just a title. It is both a curse and a promise, one that binds those who carry it for life.
With that from Jas's point of view, it was understandable why he didn't say anything about the NSBI Director being a family mber.
And maybe the second reason Sophia will never know the truth is because of her personality. She is too emotional, too easily moved by loyalty and admiration. If she ever finds out that Benjamin is a Bellini, she will break down. She won't take it lightly. Her trust in Jas runs too deep, almost blind. She respects him, follows him, and sotis even fears him, the sa way she looks up to Hector and the others.
If she ever learns the truth, her world will fall apart because the Bellini na isn't sothing you can earn through hard work or loyalty alone. It's not a reward or a symbol of status. It's not given to just anyone. It's given to those who carry sothing deeper inside, sothing that can't be seen or asured.
In reality, there's nothing special or logical about the way Jas chooses the people who will carry his na. He doesn't pick them for loyalty, trust, or skill. He simply feels sothing when he ets them, a connection that can't be explained or put into words. It's like a quiet voice inside him telling him this one belongs.
It's not love, not trust, not even respect. It's sothing else, sothing he can't na, sothing he doesn't want to understand. Because maybe deep down, he knows that the mont he gives soone the Bellini na, he's giving them a piece of himself. And that's not sothing you can ever take back.
And Benjamin is one of them, maybe the last one, or maybe he is the first one who is actually a director. Only Jas knows, but one thing is for sure, Sophia just got more taste of Benjamin and what he represents.
"They deserved it." Benjamin spoke as he watched them a little longer, the blow of heads, the open skulls, and still eating that fucking dried at. "Now let's put them in a row, place the drugs and weapons in front of them, and snap a picture for the public."
"Would it be too much for them?" Gaspar, the sa agent who shot them, asked as blood dropped from his whole body and who knows what part of their heads, maybe so brain, eyeball, who knows. "I an, so people can't handle sothing like this." He glanced at Sophia, who was still a little surprised and pale.
"Do it, but tell them to censor their heads, only show the lower body and the tattoo on their hands." Benjamin explained to him, and finally looked at Sophia. "Are you good? Was it too much?"
She didn't say anything at first. Her eyes stayed on them, still, silent. The rage on their faces faded into nothing, leaving only the red stains on the back wall.
"No, it just happened suddenly." It wasn't that she couldn't handle it, she had seen worse but it had happened too fast, even for her.
They were executed right there, without hesitation. They could have been shot in the leg or the chest, but no, their heads were blown off. That part didn't bother her, but what stayed with her again was how brutal the agency is and how raw they are… and thinking back to the fight she had with the NSBI… what would have happened if it had been Benjamin who led them back then?
Well it was a easy answer, she would be fucking dead.
"Then let's go to our next one." Benjamin said as he slapped her shoulder, and they left, but one thing didn't leave… the blood and its sll that just stayed up in her nose, on her vest, on everything..
Though it wasn't just Sophia herself who was kind of shocked by the sudden execution.
"So… that is the real Benjamin, huh?" Thomas said as a smile crept upon his face, though it quickly disappeared as he heard it once again.
Linda, in the background, was vomiting into a bin as the body cam showed everything in the best quality possible.
"I knew his past was hidden for a reason." Thomas continued as he shook his head.
"Hidden?" Stephen imdiately asked as he heard the word.
"Yeah, even I can't access it. Only Linda and the President. The only thing I know is that he was a field agent, then a commander, and went up the ladder. But his mission and everything else is hidden, his past, everything." Thomas explained to Stephen, and it was truly sothing else.
Because if Thomas himself can't access his report, then… Benjamin is truly sothing else or sothing has happened.
"It's hidden because… he was a fucking psychopath, and still is." Linda finally spoke as she got out of the bin, wiping off her face and looking worse than a zombie.
"Well, we're all insane." Stephen laughed, like he didn't even care about the situation they were in or what they had just seen play out in front of them.
"No." Linda suddenly, just like the shot, raised her voice and eyed Stephen in a way that was… threatening, or like radiating sothing that was terrifying. The eyes of her were filled with certainty and sothing darker. "If he goes insane, then he's worse than all of us."
Silence, as Thomas and Stephen glanced at each other, then back to her.
"What?" Thomas asked.
"He's worse than both of you. He's worse than Jas, worse than Hector or Ferucci." She wiped her mouth again. "That's why his past is hidden… I saw it all, I read it all." Her eyes looked even darker. "That's why he was chosen by the President to be the Director."
