This eting was supposed to be a business one, the kind that usually goes with numbers, plans, routes, but instead, it went in a completely different direction.
Jas didn’t start off with number nah rather he threatened them the three n who were basically overseeing and managing the drugs. It wasn’t how this eting was ant to go, though it still worked. Not just because of the threats itself, but because of what it ant.
Loyalty wasn’t sothing Jas asked for anymore... it was sothing he demanded. Everyone there understood that, though there was one more thing that made it even heavier.
Everybody in the family knew what Ramirez and Hector had done. They knew they had hunted down and tortured a dozen mbers of the family after the whole Xavier incident and, well... so of them had already seen the video of Xavier being chopped up.
Yeah, Hector, he thought that the video about Kilian fucking chopping up Xavier’s body with an axe would be a very good idea to send it to the people who held higher ranks, because it would put fear in them, the kind of fear that makes them understand the sa thing would happen to them if they fucked up.
So he did exactly that.
That was also why everything felt so dark about Jas. Everybody there had seen the video, except Jas and Bella and only Hector and Ramirez were the ones who didn’t actually throw up right after watching it.
Dani, Basai, Sivy, and Jordan... they fucking vomited everything out of them. They felt sick for days, because they didn’t just catch a glimpse of the video, they didn’t look away halfway through. They were forced to watch the whole thing. Literally made to sit there and watch until the very end.
It was bad. So bad that it ssed them up on a completely different level. The kind of thing you don’t forget. The kind of thing that stays in your head long after it’s over, no matter how hard you try not to think about it.
Even Jas himself knew that the atmosphere wasn’t the best. Tension between the top mbers of the family could only go wrong if he pushed it too far, and he didn’t even want to look nacing, to say the least. He was still tired, his head hurt... which made him look like that, but now he was ready to break the tension and start off with the eting for real.
"So, where should we start first, the hierarchy?" He asked.
"Yeah, we need to set up a real ranking system right now. The simple Bellini na doesn’t make sense." Dani started looking at Jas. "Up until now, the four Bellini n ranked highest to you, Ferruci, Hans, Hector, and Bella. But now Hans is no longer with us, Ferrucci is at the hospital, and Bella... you..." Dani stopped, glancing at her, unsure whether to say it out loud, but Bella spoke before he could.
"I am Jas’s girlfriend and will be his fiancé, so take off the list. I’m no longer part of the family the way I was." She said, and honestly, it wasn’t surprising.
Everybody knew she had feelings for Jas, and she had finally made her choice.
"Then the only two Bellinis by rank are you, Hector, and Ferrucci." Dani continued. "I think it would be much better if we actually gave them proper ranks. That way, it would be easier to recognize who is who and to know exactly what they do."
"I agree." Hector joined in as Dani finished. "We need proper ranks." He looked at Jas.
"I think it is obvious to everyone that Hector is the underboss, so that is right as it is." Jas began. "But any suggestion to others, like all of you need to have ranks, Ferrucci and Finn too."
"I think for Dani, treasurer could be a good one." Ramzer said, looking at him. "He handles all the money and finances, and the title ’treasurer’ gives him a bit of command and authority in the family. For Basai, Sivy, and Jordan, the manager rank would fit, they’re important, and the title has aning. Finn would stay as he is, the overseer of them, like a supervisor." He added, glancing back at Jas.
"Uhm, supervisor sounds like a supermarket position." Jas said, as he smiled a bit. "What about a simple overseer? I an, Finn is the one who is making the production and looking after the warehouse overall, so overseer would fit him well. Not just that, but in this way it is easy to understand, Sivy, Jordan, and Basai are under Finn’s command, who is the overseer over all production and storage. Dani is the treasurer of the family, Hector, you are the underboss... and you, Ramzer, are the..." He stopped, looking at him. "Captain, maybe?"
"I think that is good." Ramzer spoke. "I already established a rank system among the soldiers of the family, and the bodyguards too, so captain rank would be great, yeah."
"So the one who left is... Ferrucci, what should fit him well?" Jas asked, and the silence said everything.
There was not a single good one to give him... like the torturer of the family under him is more torturer.
"Maybe he doesn’t need a title." Dani said. "Everybody knows in the family what he does and how he does it..."
That was the truth, and well, it made sense.
"Good, then the hierarchy is established. The only thing left is for everyone to organize their own groups and chain of command, but I think everybody already has it." Jas said and indeed, everyone had their own hierarchy and chain of command in place.
Most of it had been arranged by Hector, so there were no fuck-ups or even if there were, it was easy to see how it happened and whose fault it was.
Not to ntion Ramirez, who had already created his own military rank system among the family soldiers.
Though a question remained.
"You need one too." Ramirez began again. "I think order and respect is the way to go. Everybody’s calling you Jas or boss, which is fine to get closer to people, but in the end, there isn’t much respect in it."
"In my opinion, there doesn’t need to be one," Jas explained. "If soone in the city or elsewhere calls Don or sothing, that wouldn’t be the best thing. It’s much easier to communicate using my na or simply boss."
But there was another aning behind it, it made it easier to connect with people, to be down-to-earth even as a boss.
"At least here, in the family house, and where there’s no public, people need to feel the change and call you by a respected na. Ramirez insisted as in his mind, it made sense, adding a title to Jas would inspire more loyalty and add more weight.
"Huh... what should it be?" Jas asked, looking at everyone and there was only one title that truly fit him.
"Don is simple and carries weight." Hector said, and everyone in the room nodded in agreent.
Jas said nothing, but a faint smile crossed his face. He knew that from this point on, he would no longer be just Jas or "boss"... but sothing else entirely.
Don Bellini, head of the Bellini family.
