Now reading: Chapter 1: Mysterious Death from Primeval Couple, a Fantasy novel by FallenMage.

Sowhere in Downtown San Antonio, in the living room of a modest house, two people could be seen sitting on a sofa.

One was focusing intensively on the TV before her, watching Law and Order. Her na is Lilith Channel O’toole, a 21-year-old university student. She wore a dark blue shirt with a white crop top, a beautiful brunette with blue eyes, a 178cm tall beauty with a well-proportioned body.

Not too far from her sat a young man of the sa age, Gabriel Knight, with short black hair and green eyes; he had an above-average appearance with an air of mysteriousness just like her. The two were a couple, they had been together for four years already. He was her first, and she was his second. This beca a source of countless disputes between the couple. During these four years of their relationship, they broke up several tis, five tis to be exact, but they always found their way back together. They truly loved each other and couldn’t live without each other anymore.

Gabriel ’Gabe’ had one earbud in his right ear playing PUBG on his Galaxy phone. He was about to get the last kill and win the match when a notification from WhatsApp appeared in a small pop-up.

[Wanna hang out with us, Gabe?] (Crazy Ass Ex)

Faster than Flash, he swept the ssage away, but still got caught. He felt a chill run down his spine, literally. Like a robot he turned to the side to be face to face with his girlfriend who should have been at the other edge of the sofa focusing on Law and Order.

Gabriel blinked twice, his brain running quickly to find a solution to his current predicant as he knew what was about to happen, and he didn’t want to go through it again, another jealousy episode.

"So, you are still in contact with that bitch Kendall? She even texted you asking whether or not you want to hang out with them?"

"Will you be happy if I’m still in contact with my Ex?"

"Calm down, babe, it’s not what you think. She was just inviting . There is nothing to fear." Gabriel said, trying to placate his girlfriend whose jealousy could be scary, truly scary.

"Don’t give that. I tolerated that bitch stealing your first ti, what should’ve been mine normally."

Gabriel facepald thinking, here we go again with this topic. Can you just let it go already? But he dared not voice this out as the consequence would be more drama.

"You are not together anymore, so why does she still contact you so often? Perhaps she wants to have you back?" Lilith’s eyes were cold as she uttered those words prompting Gabriel to frantically shake his head, slowly trying to crawl away.

"There is no way she would try sothing like that knowing you and even if she even entertained this thought it won’t work because you are the only one I love, the one I’ve chosen to spend the rest of my life with."

He poured everything, sincerely speaking the truth, hoping it would alleviate her worries and insecurity. His words seed to have worked because Lilith began to smile, her earlier outburst seed to diminish, and she was about to drop the matter when another notification rang out, lighting up the phone screen. Both understood it was another ssage from Kendall because he hadn’t responded to her previous ssage. Gabriel almost cursed at Kendall for not choosing her timing well.

Lilith’s face turned frosty as she extended her hand.

"Give it to I’ll check and respond to that bitch. "

"Calm down Babe, let’s calmly talk about it."

"What are you implying? I’m pretty calm, though." She smiled, but it was a smile that could give anyone the chills, and could make them cower in their pants.

"Like hell, you are. I don’t want to buy a new phone." Gabriel had already left the sofa and was slowly making his way toward the bedroom upstairs. Like everyone else, she had good sides and bad sides. She is extrely jealous, even though they never went physical during their disputes, an angry Lilith often broke his smartphones due to jealousy.

Although he had never been unfaithful when they were together, he could not show the content of his phone, a simple comnt, a simple like on Insta or any other social dia about a woman could ignite her extre jealousy, cutting short the life of his newly bought smartphone.

"Give it to ! I promise I won’t break this one!"

"You said the sa thing last ti but still smashed my phone on the ground shortly later, so, no I refuse." He said before sprinting toward the bedroom, but she chased after him, as an athlete, her physical strength mustn’t be underestimated, and he knew it.

He sprinted toward the bathroom directly, trying lock the door but was unable to do so because she put forward one of her legs to block the door.

"Give it to , Honey!"

"Calm down, Babe!"

She pushed the door and he tried to escape into the bathtub. It was when it happened that he walked on sothing on the ground, making him lose his balance, falling backward, his head going straight toward the edge of the bathtub, he could feel death closing in for so strange reason, and Lilith, who happened to see this, almost had her heart stopped. She couldn’t watch her soulemate die just like that.

"Nooooo! Honey!!"

She tried to save him, but again, for so strange reason, she also walked on the sa thing and fell toward him, her head turning to the other side, and would eventually smash against the edge of the bathtub, just like Gabriel. Everything happened in an instant. They saw what they went through in each other’s eyes, so mysterious mories before their heads smashed against the edge of the bathtub simultaneously, killing them on the spot.

The mysterious thing on the ground responsible for this tragedy was a small pearl which mysteriously vanished having accomplished its goal.

It was how a seemingly normal couple died for so mysterious reason.
