Four hours later, the sun was high in the sky, spreading golden threads below, watching the world move on as always.

Gabriel was the first to wake up. He felt refreshed. He stretched as he yawned, then gently woke her up.

"Ti to wake up, sleepyhead!"

"Five more minutes, please." Lilith turned to the other side, said, making Gabriel chuckle.

"Wake up, or else I’ll spank you," he said, trying to sound threatening but failing because he was doing his best not to laugh.

Lilith, as if waiting for this, raised her butt slightly as if to say, ’I welco your action.’

Gabriel shook his head and spanked her hard.

Pah!

"That’s enough."

Lilith reluctantly rose from the bed. The couple took a bath before changing into their adventurer’s gear, then descended from their suite to the first floor. On their way to the guild, they stopped by a good restaurant to eat sothing good before embarking on their first dungeon exploration.

~

The restaurant was a modest establishnt tucked between a blacksmith’s forge and a tailor’s shop—unassuming from the outside, but the aroma drifting from its kitchen told a different story altogether. Warm notes of roasted at, fresh herbs, and baking bread intertwined in the morning air, making their stomachs rumble in unison as they exchanged a glance, this is exactly the place.

The couple holding hands stepped inside. The interior was cozy, with wooden tables worn smooth by years of use and a crackling fireplace at the far end. A plump, rosy-cheeked woman greeted them with a smile after the initial shock of the unusual pair but as a professional she recovered quickly and led them to a window-side table.

"What do you recomnd?" Gabriel asked, having decided to trust the woman’s recomndation.

"The breakfast platter," the woman said proudly, her modest chest raised high.

"Freshly baked rye bread, salted butter, honey from the eastern hills, two eggs sunny-side up, thick-cut bacon, grilled sausages, and a side of stewed apples. And a pot of our house blend tea—or coffee, if you prefer."

Lilith’s eyes lit up. "That sounds wonderful. But do you have anything sweet?"

The woman chuckled. "For the sweet tooth, we also have cinnamon rolls glazed with sugar syrup, and a bowl of mixed berries with clotted cream."

"I’ll take the breakfast platter," Gabriel said while eyeing his woman with a playful smile, "and add the cinnamon rolls."

"Sa for ," Lilith added, "but with extra honey on the side."

Gabriel shook his head in amusent, she never change does she?

The woman nodded and disappeared into the kitchen.

While waiting, Gabriel reached across the table and took Lilith’s hand. Her skin was cool, as always, but her fingers interlaced with his without hesitation.

"Hungry?" he asked.

"Starving," she admitted with adding without any sha. "All that fighting yesterday night built up an appetite."

While rolling his eyes at her he inquired.

"And the sweets from the candy shop?"

She gave him a mock-serious look as if to say what the hell are you saying?

"Those were dessert. This is breakfast. Completely different."

He laughed admitting his mistake. "Of course. My mistake."

Soon, the food arrived. Two large wooden platters were set before them, loaded with more food than two people could reasonably eat—but neither Gabriel nor Lilith were reasonable when it ca to each other, or to a good al, they were the type to eat to their heart’s content not caring about what other’s people think.

Gabriel tore off a piece of rye bread, slathered it with butter and honey, and bit into it.

Crunch!

The bread was crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The honey was fragrant, with a hint of wildflowers, truly enjoyable so he savored every bit of it.

Lilith, anwhile, had already claid a cinnamon roll. She peeled back the spiral, watching the glaze drip, then took a delicate bite. Her eyes closed in bliss.

"Good?" Gabriel asked, knowing the answer.

"Divine," she murmured, licking a stray drop of sugar from her thumb.

They ate in comfortable silence for a while—the kind of silence that spoke louder than words. He watched her savor each bite, from the crispy bacon to the creamy eggs, from the tangy stewed apples to the rich clotted cream coating fresh berries.

When Lilith caught him staring, she raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Nothing," he said, smiling. "Just enjoying the view."

She rolled her eyes, but a faint blush crept across her cheeks—a rare sight on the usually composed demoness.

After finishing their al and draining the last of the tea, Gabriel paid the cheerful woman with a few silver coins and left a generous tip.

"Sa ti tomorrow?" the woman called after them.

"Sa ti tomorrow," Gabriel agreed.

There were out there many restaurants more advanced than this one but they chose this for its simplicity.

They stepped back into the sunlit street.

Soon, they arrived at the guild, they entered, all eyes were on the couple, most of them were filled with envy, whispers flying here and there about yesterday achievent, also the two unusual n who appeared yesterday wishing to register and also inquiring about the special test. Judging by their looks they must not be undestimated, they both looked dangerous enough, the two happened to appeared simultaneously, they glared at each other like mortal enemies, the black skinned tall man and the second individual, the guild master received them and soon they disappeared while staring dagger at each other.

From the whispering adventurers, the couple managed to acquire useful information, they exchanged a look, both grinning, it must be said the timing was slightly ahead of what they thought and it doesn’t take a genius to guess those two identifies, the clue was there, their inability to get along despite the obvious disguise they put on, the black skinned one must be the demon sent to observe them in disguise as for the second one it was obviously from the angel side.

’’This is surely going to be fun.’’

The sa thought ran through the couple’s mind as they stopped before Elfie’s counter, the latter raised her heavy eyelids and welcod them.

’’Welco you troublemakers!" a blunt welco indeed.
