Amon watched the luminescent screen appear briefly in front of him, displaying his new status.
’It no longer shows "Divine Path" but "Primordial Path." I wonder what’s the difference between them both...’
Amon’s heart filled with curiosity, and he couldn’t tell if it was a good or bad thing.
’Just as I guessed with my na, since I finally have one, it’s being displayed. Now, the only important thing left is my Celestial Gift. How do I obtain a Celestial Gift?’
Amon’s mind was filled with all sorts of thoughts, and unable to co up with any unique thod to obtain a Celestial Gift, he closed the status screen.
’So, I’m now at the Mortal Vein Realm? Primordial Path, huh?’
Amon could feel the Primordial Energy moving through his core like a pool of liquid, and he couldn’t help but feel curious about what it could do.
He placed the thought at the back of his mind soon enough and shifted his gaze back to absorbing Primordial Energy... that was the only thing he could do now.
...
Five years went by in the blink of an eye.
A youth who looked to be around the age of five, with black hair streaked with silvery strands, sat atop his bed, his eyes tightly shut as though focused on sothing.
This youth was Amon.
And the reason for Amon’s serious expression was simple, the milky white core within his body now looked completely thickened, and he was about to step into the next path of strength.
Amon was completely focused, having chosen this specific ti because he knew no one would disturb him.
As Primordial Energy continued flowing into his body and he felt his core changing innately, his soul stirred. Subconsciously, Amon felt as though he was taking the wrong path.
’What?’ He halted his absorption of Primordial Energy imdiately and shifted his attention to study his core.
From the pale, sparse white it once was, it was now completely white.
This was a sign that his core was fully saturated and ready to evolve to a higher state.
Amon opened his eyes and glanced at a book beside him.
Using his small, delicate hands, he flipped through it rapidly until he reached the middle section.
There, the information was written clearly:
’Once one’s core reaches a completely saturated white color, they can absorb more Divine Energy to mutate its color to yellow stepping into the Essence Core Realm!’
’Could it be because I absorb Primordial Energy rather than Divine Energy that the whole sequence feels wrong to ?’
Many thoughts flashed through Amon’s mind, and he couldn’t help reading through the book again.
He wanted to be cautious about everything, after all if he ssed up his Primordial Path, there would likely be no way to rectify it.
As his gaze scanned through the book, it subconsciously fell on a line of words that caused an illusory light bulb to flicker in his mind.
’The only limitation of walking on the Divine Path is that you are stuck with a single core, and even after evolving it, you are left with a limited amount of Divine Energy...’
It was like a casual comnt left by the author, yet it struck a lightning chord in Amon’s mind.
’What... what if I try that???’
It sounded absurd, but what better thing to do than that?
’At least until I find a way to evolve my core without any mistakes, I can do this!’
Having an insane thought, Amon decided to try it out.
Absorbing any more Primordial Energy from the air would cause his core to begin mutating, taking on a hue of light yellow.
However, as Amon absorbed a few strands of Primordial Energy, rather than his core taking on a shade of yellow, it seed to beco purer.
’It’s feasible!’
Amon’s eyes lit up, and this ti he didn’t feel like he was taking the wrong direction!
He increased his intake of Primordial Energy from just a few wisps to a higher amount.
Sweat trickled down his forehead, but he didn’t dare be careless as this was a delicate process.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Amon let out a shaky breath he didn’t know he was holding.
This was because...
He had...
Ford a second core!!!
While reading that statent, Amon had a sudden flash of inspiration.
If the limitation of the Gifted Ones was their limited energy, then rather than mutating the state of one’s core to a higher grade, why not condense the remaining energy and form another smaller core within that core?
It was an absurd idea, but as one could see, Amon had made it feasible!
A few runes flashed in front of him as though the status panel was trying to calculate whether his Primordial Path had increased.
It failed to find anything.
Amon was still stuck at the Mortal Vein Realm, but he now had more energy than most at that level, even rivalling a few Essence Core Realm Gifted Ones!
A wide, uncontrollable smile spread across Amon’s lips.
Feeling the slight increase in his strength, he was filled with excitent.
He clenched his fist.
’Another small step on my path to invincibility!’
Amon stood up and stretched his small limbs.
He could feel a renewed surge of strength coursing through him.
He knew it was the increase brought about by expanding his limited Primordial Energy.
’I feel like fighting soone, or sothing...’
He casually walked out of his room after changing into a new set of clothes since the previous ones were soaked with sweat.
It was around that ti.
Aside from Amon’s birthday, which had been celebrated a day ago, the next day, the last day of the year, was the Day of Bonding.
Amon had been waiting for this day for five years, when he would finally bond with his Celestial Dragon.
As he strode through the chambers adorned with flowers as though celebrating an event, he couldn’t help but feel curious about what kind of ability he would obtain or what kind of Celestial Dragon he would get.
’I hope it isn’t sothing too bad...’
Amon thought internally, then finally reached his father’s study.
Inside sat Seth, his gaze fixed on a book.
The mont Amon entered, he raised his gaze to et him and slowly shook his head upon seeing that familiar expression on his son’s face.
"Another fight?" Seth raised a brow curiously.
"Yes," Amon nodded firmly, stretching his limbs and gesturing for his father to co and test how much he had improved.
"I will entertain you then," Seth said, closing the book. "Although you’ve been gifted with Divine Strength right from birth, you still won’t be my match, son."
Seth didn’t know whether to laugh or sigh.
For about a year now, his son had developed a strange love for fighting.
Wherever he went, he would pick a fight with soone, and Seth could only promise to spar with him whenever he wanted just to keep him from causing trouble.
’Hehe, old man, you don’t know how much my strength has increased!’ Internally, Amon let out an evil chuckle...
