’Void Severing Sword Art.’

The light in the sky dimd.

The world seed to fracture.

The sun froze in place, and even the heavens appeared to hold their breath.

Davie’s eyes bulged as though he had witnessed sothing truly terrifying.

"Wh-what is that?" he tried to mutter through strained breaths as he shakily raised his spear to defend himself.

He didn’t hide his strength in the slightest.

The mythical-ranked technique erupted from his spear with overwhelming force.

But it was ultimately not enough.

The Void Severing Sword Art descended like a second sun.

A blinding radiance swallowed everything in its path as it fell upon him.

The entire crowd was drawn into the srizing light.

Everyone present could feel the sheer terror contained within that attack.

If it were directed at them, they were certain they wouldn’t survive.

Finally, the sword art collided with the mythical-ranked attack.

There wasn’t even the slightest resistance.

The spear technique was cleaved apart as effortlessly as a breeze passing through open air.

The sword light continued forward without slowing in the slightest.

Davie’s spear disintegrated.

Then the attack continued toward him.

Davie’s eyes widened in horror.

"No-"

From within his spatial ring, treasures began flying out one after another.

Protective artifacts.

Defensive treasures.

Rare items he had painstakingly gathered over many years.

Yet under the light of the sword attack, every single one of them disintegrated.

One after another.

Without exception.

Finally, the attack reached him.

Bang!

An instantaneous explosion erupted.

Davie’s body exploded into a rain of blood and flesh.

Muscles.

Bones.

Fragnts.

Everything scattered across the surroundings.

The terror of the Butcher was laid bare for all to see.

Amon remained standing with his back perfectly straight.

His breathing remained steady.

Calm.

Controlled.

Slowly, he lowered his sword after dealing with Davie.

Activating Danger Sense, he carefully swept his awareness across the area.

After confirming there was no imdiate threat, he briefly glanced toward the Ard Forces van before shifting his attention back to Davie and the others.

Then he began gathering the bodies.

Every corpse.

Every fragnt.

Even the scattered remains of Davie.

His movents were ticulous and precise.

The treasure he had used to temporarily increase his strength soon reached its limit and lost its effect.

A mont later, Amon poured fuel over the bodies.

Then he lit them ablaze.

The fire burned fiercely, crackling as orange flas rose into the air.

A wave of warmth spread throughout the surroundings.

Yet no one felt warm.

A chill had settled deep within their hearts.

The Butcher had finally revealed a portion of his true strength.

And it was far beyond anything they had imagined.

The announcer trembled.

Silence lingered for a long mont as the cara shakily focused on the towering figure.

The cute rabbit mask no longer appeared cute.

Instead, it inspired an indescribable sense of dread.

"E-everyone..." the announcer finally stamred.

His voice quivered.

"A-as you can see... t-the Butcher has struck once again. Everyone is advised to remain on high alert."

Joy was already communicating with higher-ranking officials within the Ard Forces.

The question was simple.

Could the Butcher be apprehended?

Unfortunately, the answer ca quickly.

The Ard Forces had recently dispatched a team of C-ranked experts, the strongest individuals currently stationed within the city, to clear a massive C-ranked dungeon that had appeared just outside its borders.

At the mont, there was no one available capable of stopping the Butcher.

Fortunately, the Butcher was not a man known for causing unnecessary trouble.

After watching the humans before him turn to ash, he calmly turned and walked away.

His sword dragged across the ground behind him.

Clang.

Clang.

Clang.

Each scrape echoed through the silent street like a challenge directed at anyone foolish enough to attack.

His actions had been simple.

Swift.

Efficient.

He had arrived.

Eliminated the threats targeting his family.

Then left.

There was nothing more to be done.

Amon believed the strength he had displayed today should be enough to ensure the Ard Forces wouldn’t dare entertain thoughts of apprehending the Butcher for quite so ti.

Releasing a relieved sigh inwardly, he walked into a nearby alleyway.

Then vanished.

"Butcher!"

Joy rushed toward the alley.

By the ti she arrived, he was gone.

Completely.

The wind drifted through the empty passage, nudging a few abandoned containers and making the place appear strangely desolate.

A complicated expression appeared in her eyes.

"The Butcher..." she murmured.

"What exactly are you? And what is your purpose in killing all these people?"

No one answered.

After staring at the alleyway for several monts, she finally turned around.

The commander in her imdiately took control.

"Inform the Special Care Unit to take care of the children. Provide temporary shelters for them and assist them in locating their families."

"Yes, Commander!"

She turned toward another group.

"Search the warehouse. Apprehend anyone present. Check for survivors and rescue them imdiately."

Orders were issued one after another.

Efficient.

Decisive.

Authoritative.

The caras captured every mont.

The image of a fearless commander taking charge of the situation spread across countless screens.

Yet despite that...

The na embedded within everyone’s hearts remained the sa.

The Butcher.

...

Amon returned to his previous location and checked his injuries.

Most of them had already healed thanks to his unique physique.

Furthermore, he noticed the healing speed had increased slightly compared to before.

’It seems as my strength increases, so do my healing capabilities...’

Amon silently analyzed the changes while removing his coat.

The garnt had been pierced by Davie’s spear.

His clothes underneath hadn’t escaped either.

Without hesitation, he tossed the coat and bloodstained trousers onto the ground.

A few drops of fuel followed.

Monts later, flas consud them.

Amon watched quietly.

He intended to leave behind no traces whatsoever.

After changing into a fresh set of clothes, he retrieved his phone from where he had hidden it.

Using the front-facing cara as a mirror, he carefully inspected himself.

There wasn’t the slightest indication of suspicion.

Satisfied, he smiled.

The sword disappeared into his system storage.

The rabbit mask was placed back inside the briefcase before it too was stored away.

With everything settled, he left.

It was ti to return ho.

As the man of the house, he had fulfilled his responsibility.

He had protected his family.

...

The walk ho was surprisingly normal.

Cri rates had dropped noticeably in recent weeks, so there weren’t any opportunistic criminals lurking around despite the quiet streets.

Eventually, Amon hailed a taxi and returned ho.

The mont he entered, he spotted Kayla in the kitchen.

Ciara was secured against her back as she prepared dinner.

A warm scene.

One that instantly eased the tension lingering in his heart.

"Sweetheart, sorry I’m late."

He paused for a brief mont.

"Work was far more difficult than I expected."

Amon smiled as he dusted his shoes on the mat before stepping inside and closing the door behind him.

Kayla glanced over her shoulder.

A suspicious look appeared on her face.

"I called Mark."

Amon’s footsteps halted.

The smile on his face froze.

Kayla narrowed her eyes.

"He said there wasn’t any ergency at work..."

For the first ti since slaughtering dozens of people without blinking...

Amon felt genuine danger.

And it was standing inside his own house.
