"Lady Lani, I know this may e as a shock, but you won't be joining the battle that is about to happen." Kent turned and spoke to the beautiful assassin, who frowned.
"You can't tell me what to do and what not to do," she responded, already planning on fighting beside her friend.
"And if you are worried about my identity getting exposed, you won't have to worry much. I have that covered."
"You do know the battle ing isn't one even I know of its magnitude. And while it's admirable to see your want to fight for my cause, I also don't want you getting any backlash.
You can sit out this one, for there is more to e in the future."
"I will fight, and that is final. Or are you underestimating me?"
"Kent, no need to argue with her. She is that annoying. The more you prohibit her from doing something, the more she wants to do it," Nara said, brushing Kent's hair with her hand.
The past three days had brought them closer. Even Lady Lani seemed to have gotten closer to him than a couple of days before.
"Very well. I wouldn't want to restrict you, but you must take this." Kent retrieved a necklace from his space ring.
"The moment your life is in danger, it will e in handy. Just wear it for now." She didn't object and put the necklace on.
"I don't know the magnitude of the battle we are about to fight. What will you do if a Forest King or Kingdom Protector pops up?
Master said she doesn't trust the other three Kingdom Protectors. This means I don't, either. So what are you going to do about that?" Lady Lani asked.
Kent smiled and looked at her.
"Though I don't like to brag, I faced a god just a few weeks ago and gave him the middle finger. So a Kingdom Protector or a Forest King should be the least of my worries."
Lady Lani turned and looked at Nara.
"He doesn't lie." That was all Nara could say, for she knew that despite Kent saying those words with an unserious smile, he meant every word.
Though, the god part seemed to be exaggerated a bit.
The beautiful assassin could only stare at the brat for as long as her mind could prehend what she had just heard.
Of course, she has her own agenda in this battle, and thanks to Kent, it will be realised.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Vastport City, 14 hooded figures could be seen getting ready—or more accurately, looking ready—for a great battle.
Not that much attention could be placed on them.
The true threat was rather far from Vastport City in the persons of eight individuals, each at the Root Sovereign stage.
These eight are the assassins from the Middle Finger Assassin Guild.
The hand that has its hand in everything in the entire world has tasked them with handling this mission. Kent is doomed per their plan for this mission.
"Is everything in place?" the leader of the assassins asked.
"Yes, Leader," they answered.
"Very well. How about our allies? Are they also in position?"
"Yes, Leader. The Evil Sect has already laid their traps and is just waiting for the brat to e out of the city gates."
"Then we should be ready for what es next. This time, we cannot fail, for failure is not an option."
"We won't fail this one, Leader."
The leader, who was at the 8th level of the Root Sovereign stage, nodded. He wanted this mission to go well; naturally, it was meant to be easy.

We can go for it from them when we recover our strength. For now, they are our allies, and we must let them not suspect a thing"
