The question ca out strange. It was a rather unexpected thing to ask soone you've just had sex with. It was like asking soone on a first date whether they wanted to marry you. Kent appeared desperate.
'Did I co off as desperate?' he wondered. The question was indeed bizarre. He might have overestimated his skills in bed, thinking a whole goddess would accept his proposal.

While he did ask the question, he never truly expected a positive answer. A part of him just wanted to see if the harem system would work. So, while he might have subconsciously wished for a positive response, he was fine with rejection.
That didn't happen, and he needed confirmation.
Vexthra looked at him curiously for a mont, and then, for the second ti, she smiled. The smile blood so beautifully that, in that instant, all traces of hatred in her eyes vanished. Kent saw her true eyes—or, more accurately, the eyes she had before all the hate and resentnt.

His focus then shifted to the Tower ssages.
