As an immortal, just one strand of immortal qi is extrely valuable to the point that an immortal will kill just to have it.
One’s strength as an immortal is determined based on their immortal qi. It is what they depend on, just like how Spirit Kings depend on spiritual qi.
Of course, that doesn’t an immortals don’t use spiritual qi. They do depend on it; however, in a battle where the opponent is using immortal qi, using spiritual qi against them is akin to courting death.
So, immortal qi is extrely important.
Of course, there are three ways of obtaining immortal qi.
The first is the basic, which is as simple as refining spiritual qi into immortal qi. It may sound easy; however, refining spiritual qi into immortal qi is extrely difficult.
In fact, it is borderline impossible to achieve that.
One would have to spend thousands of years in seclusion just to refine one strand of immortal qi.
The second is refining the immortal qi in treasures such as immortal herbs, crystals, and bones that once belonged to immortals.
Many use this thod because obtaining such treasures is, in a way, easier than spending thousands of years refining spiritual qi into immortal qi.
The last, of course, is what Zeraphine had landed herself in.
It is similar to the second thod; however, in this case, the goal is to kill the immortal and refine their entire body into immortal qi.
Their immortal qi will beco yours, provided you manage to refine it.
This thod is frowned upon by many; however, people do it because it is the easiest way to obtain immortal qi.
Zeraphine’s friend wanted to do that to her; however, thanks to Zeraphine’s nature as a Plantkin and the fact that she possesses nine immortal qis, she was able to escape.
However, the predator wouldn’t let her prey run off just like that.
"Idalia, if I don’t kill you, then my na is not Zeraphine." The angry Purple Fla Lotus Monarch gritted her teeth, blood coming from the corner of her lips.
She had been running for years, and she had even forgotten how much ti had passed.
Naturally, she knew if she couldn’t make it back to the Beast Kingdom, then she must beco a demi-god to survive.
However, she had no ti or safety to even take the Immortal Lord Tribulation despite reaching the peak of the Immortal Monarch stage thousands of years ago.
"Ignarok warned not to go anywhere, yet I ignored his warning." Zeraphine didn’t want to, but she started blaming herself.
In her bid to repay a favour, she had now found herself in a hide-and-seek ga with a jealous friend and her cronies.
"Kent, I really hope I live long enough to et you again."
She sighed and continued to recover when suddenly a voice spoke from behind her, causing the poor Lotus Queen to jump to her feet and pull her wooden sword.
"Looks like you have found yourself in a sticky one, Zeraphine."
A handso dark-haired man who seed to be in his early 40s asked, his expression friendly thanks to the smile at the corner of his lips.
Zeraphine took a few steps back, feeling a dangerous presence coming from this man.
"Who are you?" she asked, pointing the weapon. "Are you one of her playthings?"
The man smiled and shook his head. "I am nobody’s plaything. I am just a concerned friend who rely wishes to offer a helping hand."
Zeraphine took another step back. ’This man is dangerous.’
The man before her is rely at the Death stage—not even a Root Immortal; however, for so reason, Zeraphine felt a sense of danger toward him.
Of course, if they were to fight, she would be able to take him down easily... She was an Immortal Monarch with nine immortal qis, after all.
However, a part of her hesitated to go into lee against this man. The danger she kept sensing from him was already enough to tell her she shouldn’t.
"Who are you?" Zeraphine asked again.
The man maintained his smile and answered, "Who I am is not important. The most important thing here now is how to get you out of here and to safety. Of course, I have a way to do that, so the most important question should be—do you trust enough to save your life?"
The concept that a re Death stage cultivator would ask an Immortal Monarch to trust them enough to save them was very shocking and insulting.
No immortal would fall that low to the point that they would need Death stage cultivators to save them.
However, Zeraphine had found herself in a situation where she truly needed saving
However, because she had long abandoned the idea of anyone coming to her rescue, despite the welcoming smile on the man’s face, she was inclined to reject his proposal.
Perhaps, if this person were an Immortal Lord, trusting that they had what it takes to save her would be much more believable.
Zeraphine gritted her teeth and released her immortal qi, causing the space around her to twist. The man raised his brow. "I wouldn’t do that if I were you. After all, we wouldn’t want the lackeys to find us easily now, do we?"
Zeraphine seed to have realized her mistake, so she took back her immortal qi. Then she asked for the third ti...
"Who are you?"
Just looking at the man made her feel like she should kill him and run with her broken body. However, she couldn’t—not when she didn’t know how this man had snuck up on her.
As an Immortal Monarch, being snuck up on by a re Death stage cultivator is not sothing to downplay.
The man sighed and then decided to go on and tell her who he was. Perhaps that would make her believe him and allow him to save her...
"A very long ti ago, they called Karl Duskbane. However, now, you can just call Uncle Drew." Uncle Drew smiled and added, "I am a Knight Rider, and a direct subordinate and chauffeur of the Primordial Chaos Dragon."
Zeraphine’s expression changed when she heard the family na. "You know Chaos?" she asked, feeling so form of happiness.
"I believe his na in this life is Kent Madson. However, sure, I know Chaos; he saved my life and gave a purpose. Now, if you will, we really have to go."
Zeraphine sensed several presences coming, so she nodded after a slight hesitation.
Uncle Drew snapped his fingers, and a portal opened. He walked through, and Zeraphine followed after a few internal struggles.
The portal closed the next second.
Five seconds after the portal closed, five Immortal Monarchs arrived at the location where Zeraphine had been a few seconds ago.
"I truly hate this plant lady. She can always see you coming from millions of miles away." One of the Immortal Monarchs, with bronze skin and a tallic sheen, golden eyes, and hair of silver threads, spoke, and the rest nodded in response.
One of the reasons why Zeraphine manages to remain alive this long is her uncanny ability to see danger from millions of miles away.
"Annoying bitch." Seeing their prey had yet again slipped away, they also left, frustrated.
anwhile, in a large dark mansion built from strange-looking stones, a portal opened in a large hall, and Uncle Drew and Zeraphine stepped out.
"Welco to Nythra. I am Nyx, the Queen of Eternal Midnight." Seated on a throne, an extrely beautiful lady spoke, causing Zeraphine’s body to freeze.
