Kent's eyes sharpened the mont the tower's warning echoed through his mind. His instincts flared all at once, warning him to be wary.
He didn't expect the Forsaken Immortal to be this crafty. Of course, with the forsaken seer still alive, he knew the other forsaken immortal was rely following her directions.
But even so, Kent was slightly amused by the fact that the forsaken immortal couldn't have made his move when he was under the assault of the dragons.
Why wait until a deadly, explosive arrow heads his way before making a move?
That, in a way, didn't make sense to Kent. However, he also didn't take the threat the tower warned him about for granted.
If anything, there is this inkling at the back of his mind telling him he had forgotten sothing. But no matter how hard he thought, he couldn't figure out what.
So he put it at the back of his mind and wished it wasn't sothing life-threatening.
The ninth explosion of the arrow went off in the sky, sending shockwaves of absolute ice across the battlefield. Dozens more dragons froze mid-flight and shattered into icy fragnts.
So were forced to retreat, barely keeping their lives.
But the tenth explosion never ca. It was supposed to be the loudest and the most impactful.
Instead, the arrow vanished.
Not shattered.
Not deflected.
It simply blinked out of existence, as if it never existed.
Kent's pupils constricted. 'That's new.'
[That is the power of the void, master. All immortals can learn the laws of the universe, and it seems this forsaken immortal knew sothing about the void.]
'How envious,' Kent's intent, will, and need to kill the forsaken immortal had just taken a sudden leap. Hearing the bastard could wield the power of the void made him frown.
A tear ford in space where the arrow had been—thin, jagged, pulsing with a strange darkness. An eerie energy that isn't quite a void poured out of the tear.
From within that tear, a hand erged.
It was pale, long-fingered, and marked with dozens of black runes swirling beneath the skin. It is ugly as fuck.
The forsaken immortal whom the arrow should have hit appeared unhard, stepping out of the void as though walking through a doorway.
His eyes were pitch black, and in them swirled a power Kent recognised instantly.
"Void Energy."
He muttered, genuinely feeling envious of the bastard for possessing so power of the void.
Of course, Kent could also use the void; however, it was linked to a sword gaze skill. So while he could easily harness the void to unleash thousands of other sword attacks, he himself could not interact with it.
He learned that at the Heavenly Ascension stage, a cultivator could harness the power of the void; however, he later found that to do so, one must possess innate talent for it.
His innate talent is in the Chaos energy, one of the strongest and most devastating elents in existence. So while he has the energy to back up void manipulation, he lacks the talent for it... at least for the ti being.
But that didn't an he wasn't jealous of those who could harness it. Even his pal Uncle Drake (the fla dragon he saved back in the Sea of Flas) can harness it.
So he could only look at the bastard, who exuded the power of the void. Looking at his pale face, unsure if exhaustion was on there, made him feel sowhat angry.
Of course, the energy isn't the ordinary kind.
This was Forsaken Void Authority. He was using a technique to harness the void.
Kent clicked his tongue. "Of course, what a loser."
The Root Immortal smiled, but his expression cracked unnaturally at the corners, as though his face wasn't built to mimic emotion.
This sight angered Kent even further, but the forsaken immortal seed to be enjoying this sight.
"You wielded absolute ice," he rasped, barely containing his twisted grin. "Impressive. But you lack understanding. For us forsaken beings… the void is our birthright."
He lifted his bony hand.
The frozen fragnts of the destroyed swords vibrated… then reversed direction, pulled toward the void tear like tal to a magnet.
They were being eaten, or so it seed. However, Kent knew he was pulling back his energy for what he had planned.
Kent's jaw tightened. "Annoying."
He shot forward without warning.
BOOM!
The sky scread as he moved, tearing through space, his claws coated in a terrifying mix of ice and compressed dragon force.
He could have teleported to the bastard. However, with the void torn open, using teleportation runs the risk of falling into the void.
Space becos fragile and unstable whenever the void is opened, so he chose to face it using his speed, which he had boosted with fla veins.
He didn't even use a quarter of his 120,000 fla veins, since that speed would further destabilise space, this risk widening the tear in the void. He rely chose to go as fast as the eye could track.
The forsaken immortal lifted two fingers, and the void rippled. Then from within, a thick, dark and horrific skull appeared.
'Ah, I hate this,' Kent smirked in annoyance as he attacked the skull with deadly force.
However, despite his attack possessing the power to split a Root Immortal in half, his claw passed straight through it and even through the skull of the forsaken immortal without injuring it or him.
The immortal's body wavered like smoke, splitting into dozens of after-images.
Behind Kent, he appeared, a pale smile playing on his lips.
"Forsaken Art: Second Form – Hollow Grave."
A spherical collapse of space shuddered into existence behind Kent, threatening to swallow him whole.
He manifested his tail, appearing in its dense and tallic form.
It lashed instinctively, wrapping around the incoming singularity. Although he didn't know exactly what was happening, his reaction speed was fast enough to co into play when needed.
It froze instantly. Absolute ice spread across the Hollow Grave, cracking it like fragile stone.
BOOM!
The singularity shattered like frozen glass. It was imdiate and, quite frankly, very devastating to watch.
A shriek tore through the battlefield as the forsaken immortal staggered, clutching his head. "Impossible… void cannot be frozen…"
Kent smirked and raised one hand.
"Bitch, please. Everything can be frozen."
He vanished again, not teleported, just plain speed that felt like teleportation.
This ti, he reappeared much closer to the forsaken immortal, claws already descending.
The forsaken immortal reacted with desperation, slashing his palm through the air.
A thin void blade swept through Kent's torso.
SHHHHRRRK!
Lines split into his scales, cutting his flesh—only to freeze imdiately, halting the damage.
Kent didn't flinch.
"My turn."
His claw tore upward, ripping through the forsaken immortal's shoulder, chest, and jaw in one brutal motion. Cuts appeared on his body.
Kent stepped back and snapped his finger, causing the air to shimr with frost and cold.
Ice exploded along the wounds, coldness seeping deep into his body.
The immortal scread as half his body froze in midair, spreading rapidly. Kent smirked and instantly moved to finish the job. However, he froze mid-flight when soone suddenly grabbed his leg.
"Ah shit."
