"I saw two visions. One showed a happy family. We had two children—a male and a female. We watched them grow up, and just when we were at the peak of happiness, I woke up to the sight of all three of you dismbered by my own bloody hands.
The second vision showed abandoning you. After I did, you were heartbroken. You felt betrayed, but on top of all that, you still loved . That was, of course, a problem because I discovered that the longer you loved , the danger would always loom over your head.
It would get to the point where you would choose to beco strong enough to find and tell your mind. That would lead you to take the Supre Tribulation, which would have been your death.
Every route led to your death, so I created a different ending.
I turned and left, later using everything at my disposal to make you hate ." Kent sighed, a bit regretful now that he had said it out loud.
"I knew that since you had cultivated the Ten Emotion Sword Dao, getting you to hate would be simple. I rely had to pull the right string, and so I chose to..."
"ss around with that bitch."
Kent turned and looked at Inaya oddly. "She is your sister, Inaya."
"It changes nothing. The next ti I see her, I will probably kill her for taking my man and killing my favourite sister."
"She didn't, Inaya. I told her what happened and what would happen to you if I returned to your side. Knowing your fate, she didn't hesitate to play along, knowing full well you would hate her even more."
"Then I will cut off one ear and an arm the next ti I see her."
Kent laughed.
Had it not been for witnessing what happened to Dia and the fact that Kent is a dragon, it would have been hard for her to accept anything Kent had just said.
In fact, it sounded even more ridiculous now that she had ti to think it over. However, deep down, she knew he was telling the truth, and an even more humbling fact was that she would have done the sa thing if she were in Jest's shoes.
However, it pained her heart to learn that the only way to be safe was to hate the one person she swore to love till the end.
All Jest did was make an impossible choice. But when it ca to her turn, her hatred for Jest ignited, and now that she stood alive and well, her heart started to break all over again.
Kent knew what was going on in her mind, so he just took her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "It was the only way, Inaya. I made sure you hated by pulling on the only vulnerability you had. However, now that you are alive and by my side again, you don't have to bla yourself.
Rather, be happy. Don't let the past ruin the beautiful future ahead of us."
She nodded, her other hand moving toward her chest. A few seconds later, she sighed, then a smile ford on her face...
"I am sorry for doubting you, Jest. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions back then."
Kent said nothing, but he nodded.
He also sensed it. Sothing was changing within Inaya as they spoke. It wouldn't manifest for a few months; however, he could tell she was slowly breaking through the barrier between the God and the Supre stage.
In other words, she would soon transcend beyond godhood, finally stepping into the ranks of Supremacy.
Due to her heartbreak back then, she developed a heart demon that prevented her from advancing to the Supre stage. But that heart demon was dying, freeing her stagnated cultivation base.
"So how did you finally figure it out?" Inaya asked. "You know, finally becoming a Sword Celestial?"
Kent smiled. "I created a sword technique that surpassed the Sword Supre stage. Once that happened, I realised it wasn't that there was no path to the peak of swordsmanship; it was just that soone or sothing blocked it.
So I did what I do best and severed it clean in half. Once that was accomplished, the path opened for and others who ca after ."
Inaya looked at his handso face for a few seconds before she smiled. "You are a monster, Jest."
She leaned in and kissed him. "I am still pissed at you, but as soone who walked the path of the sword with you, I want to congratulate you, even if it is several eras too late."
She leaned in and kissed him again. This ti, it took so ti before she pulled back. A small red tint appeared on her cheeks.
While it was a bit too late for all this, she indeed was happy for him. She never had the chance to do that, since Jest was nowhere to be found back then.
She had always supported him in his quest to reach the peak of swordsmanship. When they both beca Sword Supres, she stood by his side for 400,000 years, searching tirelessly for a path that led to the peak.
So there was just this wave of joy she always felt whenever she rembered the day she heard that Jest had reached the peak. That day, she cried heavy tears, for she wasn't there to celebrate with him.
Reminiscing about the past had, in a way, brought it back. However, being held by Kent, she seed to have cald down a bit.
They remained in silence for a few minutes before Inaya suddenly asked... "So how did you die...?"
Kent turned and looked at her strangely. The question he wanted her to ask wasn't this. In his mind, considering how long they had been apart, and the fact that he had revealed he was also the legendary Chaos Dragon that lived during the Primordial Era, her question should have leaned more in that direction. Being asked how he died was the last question he expected from her.
However, there was a reason she asked, and Kent knew he had to answer.
The universe had already recorded in the Book of Legends that the legendary Genesis Swordsman fell in the final monts of the Divine War.
Just as the Void Beast invaded the Primordial Era, the Foreign Race did so during the Divine Era. Jest was the vanguard during that war, too. Also, he died in the end, just like Chaos did.
As to the specifics of his death, nobody seed to know.
"You know, it is funny how when there is trouble, everyone seems to know who to run to, but the sa people turn their backs and run when their helper needs help."
A mory of his final mont flashed through Kent's mind, causing him to smile.
"The Foreign Race is much more harrowing than I expected. Back then, after I, along with the twelve Sword Elders, journeyed to the Main Gate during the final monts of the Divine War, we had it at the back of our minds that the enemies waiting for us would be the most dangerous of them. We knew that and had already prepared to die.
Nothing, however, prepared us for what awaited us..."
