Cleanly written in the air was a beautiful rune that read 'cut'.
Around it, an incredible sword aura, one that seed to have been forged from the very core of the Sword Dao, sharpened the air, making it extrely lethal to even look at.
Before the battle, the Master of Purgatory told him he would be fighting against a perfect, absolute version of himself, or at least what an absolute version of a Heavenly Ascension cultivator, in the Paragon's eyes, should be.
Naturally, that was everything he needed to know. Winning with his own strength was just impossible.
He could not win, even if he had unlimited energy and unflagging stamina. In his eyes, the absolute version of himself is a monster beyond understanding. Winning using conventional ways is just impossible.
So he first chose to fight it.
This decision was so that he could find out just what an absolute version of himself would be like.
Safe to say, he saw it, and the result was abysmal. He was wrecked, and he knew deep within him that it was true; he was way weaker than he should be.
But it also showed him what he needed to see.
What he needed to know.
He saw how perfect and strong he was, how much he had to put in to be able to match the dragon.
But unfortunately, while he would have loved to keep fighting and slowly adapt and improve, he knew he would die before that happened. The dragon had what it took to kill him, so he had to co up with a way to be able to unleash an attack that matched the perfect version of himself.
So he did. He tapped into his nature as a Spirit Master and wrote a perfect attack into the word 'Cut'.
It contained a perfect mastery of his sword at the Sword King stage. This included his mastery over his sword aura, sword intent, sword realm, and sword understanding.
Thankfully, he also had True Sword Energy, so that amplified everything.
Now that the rune was complete, he smiled and pressed the Spirit Brush against it and commanded,
"CUT."
The rune dissolved into a golden light and turned into a sword arc, one that sliced apart the void before severing the golden dragon in half.
For a mont, none of Kent's wives said anything. Rather, their gazes were locked on the cleanly cut dragon, mouths agape.
A few seconds later, however, smiles ford on their faces.
"Now, that is what I am talking about," Inaya let out a joyful cheer, causing Kent to turn and look in her direction. Watching their happy expressions, he waved and blew a kiss in their direction.
They were happy and finally relaxed, considering that the past four hours had been the tensest any of them had ever been.
From the first few seconds of the battle, they knew Kent had t a monster. And as ti passed, their tense feelings only seed to increase. Now, however, they were happy to see their man had won.
The Master of Purgatory flew toward Kent.
"Congratulations on your win, Master of Chaos. For a mont there, I thought you would lose, but you have proven yourself, and for that, congratulations."
"Thank you, Master of Purgatory."
He nodded and extended his hand.
An exact miniature copy of the dragon Kent had just fought appeared.
"You should train harder, my friend. Your Universe and others out there need you, so beco stronger very fast. I know for a fact that one day you will be able to fight on the sa battlefield as Paragon, , and the other.
I have no idea what fight he has found himself in now, but I do know it will be a battle to determine the fate of everything. Your universe, mine, and several others will rest on our shoulders, so train harder and faster."
Master of Purgatory let out a small smile and tapped Kent on the shoulder. "No pressure, though. In my universe, I was called the greatest swordsman to ever live, and I still am. However, while you aren't even at 5% yet, I can tell you have the potential to reach my level one day.
In fact, I can tell you have already glimpsed the realm above the Celestial stage. Good, that is the realm you should get to before you can dream of crossing swords with .
So train hard and don't be afraid of who you are. I may be the Master of Purgatory, but you are the Master of Chaos. Perhaps among us, you will be the one to finally asure up to the Paragon and even surpass him."
Kent smiled. "He is that powerful, huh?"
"You have no idea.
But I guess that is why I am here. Because of his nature, helping us reach his level soday is easy for him. Once you discover what this statue is, you will understand why everyone needs him in their life.
So like I said, train hard and never walk away from those close to you. Believe it or not, those in our hearts aren't our weakness; they are our strength. So cherish them, and when the ti cos, they will be the weapons you will wield in battle."
Kent chuckled. "Although the ending is a bit unhinged, I see where your heart is, and I appreciate that."
The Master of Purgatory smiled and handed over the golden statue to Kent.
"I will be leaving now."
Kent nodded, but then a question ca to mind. "How many would we be? You know, the team."
"Ah, glad you asked..."
RUMBLE
The sky started to turn dark, a clear sign that he had overstayed his welco.
"Looks like I have to leave before those seven bastards get their hands on ." He winked at Kent—or more like Kent saw his brow twitch beneath the blindfold.
"Oh, in case you et a certain handso redhead with a skull tattoo on his forehead, tattered armor, and a terrifying black scythe placed on his shoulder, don't antagonize him."
"Huh. Who is he?"
"The Paragon's second unhinged sworn brother. Also a terrifying bastard."
The Master of Purgatory vanished, leaving Kent with a frown. "Huh, I thought I was his sworn brother."
He stood there for a few seconds and smiled. "Ah, he said second sworn brother. I may be the first."
Seated sowhere in the multiverse, a certain monkey holding a large gourd of wine smirked and muttered, "What an idiot. If I land one strike of my staff on his head, he will recover his senses."
Kent felt a chill run down his spine, but he shrugged it off and focused on the statue in his hand. He knew what to do with it, but before that, he wanted to capture its essence and perhaps recreate it.
Unfortunately for him, the creator was ticulous in carving that statue.
"Crazy bastard."
He smirked and turned toward his wives. "Ladies, I will be entering the critical phase now. If anybody who is not a fan of mine appears, you have my permission to slice them in half."
"Fear not, love, we will shred them to pieces."
"Freeze their bones in ice."
"And set them on fire."
Vexthra, Miryssa, and Inaya replied.
Kent nodded and turned toward Ainna, who smirked and turned away from him.
He chuckled and also turned away.
He looked at the statue again and then, in one swift motion, pressed it against his forehead. The mont he did, it vanished into his soul sea, and he transford into his dragon form.
He let out a loud roar, causing the air to tremble around him.
Tower appeared in the air and hovered before him.
"Are you ready for your rebirth, Master?"
"Let's turn into an absolute perfect version of myself, Tower."
