"Big Brother Yuan, is everything okay?" asked a young man clad in a green robe, similar to the one Yuan was wearing.
He was among those tasked with keeping a lookout for any sighting of Lady Azela, the woman who had purchased the Tier 18 Forsaken Soul Spirit.
Yuan smiled with a welcoming expression that imdiately caused the young man to lower his guard.
"Everything is alright. The leader asked to personally co around and ensure you are all at your posts."
The young man also smiled. "I haven’t sensed anything unusual from the inns and hotels within a 14,000-kilotre radius."
As a Level 3 Spirit Lord, seeing 14,000 kilotres was well within his capacity.
Yuan nodded. "I will be sure to let the leader know of your dedication."
Yuan then turned to leave. Seeing this, the young man also turned around and resud paying attention to his surroundings, focusing on the inns and restaurants he had chosen.
A second later, however, he heard two words before his vision went dark—
"Sleep tight."
Kent, who was now in the form of Yuan, sighed as he looked at the headless body on the ground.
There was no remorse on his face, no trace of hesitation, nothing to suggest that he regretted assassinating soone who was rely fulfilling his duty as a mber of the Blue Fla Pill Palace.
To Kent, this was necessary to achieve his ultimate goal of obtaining the armour.
If he had the money, he would have simply bought it at the auction. However, he knew that would have placed him in direct conflict with the Vice Leader of the Blue Fla Pill Palace.
In a way, he was destined to clash with these poor souls. Even if he had purchased the armour, they would have eventually co after him, which would have forced him to kill them anyway.
"It isn’t as if they are angels," Kent muttered. "They chose to go against the Pyris Pill Alliance, all while secretly dealing with other alliances. In a way, I’m rely cleaning house."
With that, Kent sat down and began to chant.
A few minutes later, he had taken on another Face.
"This one was much faster than the first," Kent noted, realising that the process of seizing another’s identity beca easier when their cultivation base was lower.
"This is the second Face I have harvested. If I continue like this for too long, they are bound to notice." Only now did Kent fully recognise the flaw in his plan.
The more he killed, the sooner they would realise sothing was wrong. They were bound to attempt communication, and if no response ca, they would eventually co to investigate.
He already had the Heavenly Ascension-stage cultivator overseeing the operation sealed within his Soul Map. He also has other people from different factions captured within his coverage.
However, just as he finished taking the new face, he sensed the arrival of new people.
"Looks like I have to hurry."
Disguised in Yuan Li’s face, Kent left. He went to three more targets, and after swiftly eliminating them, he chose to retreat when he noticed soone new arriving.
Among the newcors were three Heavenly Ascension experts, whose cultivation levels were at the sixth, seventh, and eighth levels.
But what made Kent retreat was not them—it was another figure among them, whose aura was so faint that one might have mistaken him for a mortal.
Yet with his Soul Map spanning an 80,000-kilotre radius, Kent pierced through his aura. With his Enchanted Eyes, he saw the man’s true cultivation.
"True Peak... this person is at the very pinnacle of the Heavenly Ascension stage, with a foundation so solid that even I nearly failed to see through him."
"I can’t continue the hunt anymore if I don’t want to expose myself.
Without hesitation, Kent moved with lightning speed, heading straight toward the inn Lady Azela had rented.
On the way, he paused and used two hours to handle so business that he knew would bear fruit soon. After that was done, he turned back to his real self and started heading in Lady Azela’s direction.
Inside the room, Lady Azela sat with an orb in her hand.
A face flickered across its surface. "Mother," she whispered, her expression tense, "I think that old monster is here. Just now, I sensed a dangerous presence entering Central City from the north."
The face on the orb frowned. "If he is there, then it ans they already knew I was coming." A contemplative expression appeared on the woman’s face.
"This is an ambush. If I co, they will attack, and there is no guarantee I can protect you."
Lady Azela sighed and was about to speak when Kent’s voice suddenly echoed in her mind. "Tell your mother not to worry. I will bring you to her in one piece."
Lady Azela frowned. Her mother noticed the shift in her expression and asked, "What is wrong, Azela?"
Azela considered lying, but Kent’s voice once again resounded in her head. "Tell her."
"It is the person who sold the Soul Spirit," Azela finally said. "He told you shouldn’t co because he will bring it to you."
"Can he be trusted?" the woman in the orb asked, her tone calm but sharp.
"I don’t know," Azela admitted, "but he seems to have the ans to see through every restriction and even managed to help escape the auction house unhard."
"If I were to co, the situation would escalate. But if this person can truly bring you out of the city and off-world safely, then I will make sure to reward him greatly."
Kent’s voice netered Lady Azela’s head once more, tinged with amusent. "Tell your mother I love rewards."
Lady Azela’s frown deepened, but she still repeated his words. A few seconds later, the connection with the orb faded, and she carefully put it away.
"Co down to the restaurant opposite your inn. I am seated behind table five."
She clenched her fists lightly.
She did not know how any of this was possible, but she could not help wondering what kind of existence Kent truly was. To see through formations and restrictions so effortlessly, he had to be a terrifying powerhouse.
Restoring her disguise, she left her room, descended the stairs, and crossed the street to the restaurant. Though her heart was unsettled, her expression remained calm and respectful.
However, the mont she stepped inside and turned toward table five, she froze. What she saw stunned her.
A handso young man sat there, waving at her with a piece of roasted at in his hand. She almost tripped in shock.
Kent’s smile was like the morning sun reflecting off a steaming sea.
His Core Formation cultivation base was laid bare for all to sense, making the scene even more unbelievable.
She hadn’t expected such a sight to greet her.
"Don’t just stand there. I’ve already ordered a plate for you," Kent’s voice slipped directly into her mind.
Forcing herself to remain composed, Lady Azela approached and took a seat across from him.
"I know what you’re thinking," Kent said, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "How in the heavens is a Core Formation brat able to pierce through formations and even plan to smuggle you out of this city and off-world?"
He chuckled lightly. "The answer is simple. I’m aweso."
Lady Azela sighed inwardly and was about to stand and walk away when Kent activated the Soul Map’s sharing function.
His voice entered her mind.
"Right now, all entrances and teleportation gates are being watched. No matter how many disguises you put on, no matter how strong you are, you won’t escape."
Lady Azela stiffened, her eyes widening as she took in the sight revealed within the Soul Map.
"As I said," Kent continued calmly, "I will bring you out of the city and off-world. But first, sit down, enjoy this al with , and let’s have a pleasant conversation..."
