The light in them pulsed hypnotically as if drawing in the very essence of the world around them. They weren't just glowing like in the past—they were now a force of nature on their own. I'd found they react to my Avatar of the Elements powers.
Just as so, the wind stirred around us, responding to my mere presence… The elements recognized their true master.
Kitsara, who had been so confident moments ago, fell utterly silent in my arms as she eyed the dancing little whirlwinds that manifested around me to offer me a warm wele. Her breath hitched and her pupils dilated. She was entranced, mesmerized. I could feel her body tense before it relaxed all at once after realizing I was still in control and hadn't turned into a monster.
"Y-Your eyes…" she murmured with a low, disbelieving tone. She swallowed as her usual sharp wit was momentarily lost. Her ears twitched, her lips parted, but no clever remark came. For once, Kitsara was at a loss for words.
I stared deeply into her beautiful red eyes while speaking up.
"I'm not a human, One-Tailed Sorceress. I'm a primordial, an immortal demigod, the last free member of my kind. All the others have been defeated and exiled. Make your choice now. If you accept, you'll bee my panion who acpanies me on my journies as we traverse the whole world of Thalorind and beyond, rising to the peak in the process. If you deny, I'll return you to your palace, after which we'll never speak again."
"You won't kill me?" Kitsara asked after mutedly staring at me for a long while.
I shook my head. "No. I decided to reveal myself to you. I'm not cruel enough to kill you for a decision you had no say in."
"I see…" Kitsara whispered while reaching out with her hands and quipping my cheeks in her palms, after which she began gently stroking my skin. It felt as if she was expecting my skin to feel alien—as if I were no longer within the boundaries of her understanding.
But then, a delicate smile emerged on her lips as she whispered, "I accept."

Truth be told, I'd been on the fence about my name for a while. Noir… It just didn't pack the punch I was looking for. Such surname was good for the Quinlan who transmigrated into this world as a wide-eyed, excited child, but that word no longer represented me. It didn't embody the weight of the power I possess or the legacy I intend to create.
Now, it's time to solidify my place in the annals of history—not just as another man in the world, but as the head of a family who will rise to supremacy and reshape the universe.
