As soon as the words fell, the Red-scaled Horned Python appeared before them.
What a creature, asured to be approximately forty-five feet long, with the thickest part probably being as thick as a wooden bucket. Its enormous snake head was nacing, topped with a long, singular red horn.
The scales of the snake all seed to be red, like flas in a burning inferno. Its body emitted a trendously high heat, charring the wild grass on the ground to a crisp, leaving a winding snake path behind.
A Level Three Fierce Beast!
For the impoverished Wang family, it was a formidable enemy that might cost lives if not handled appropriately.
However, as the Wang family continued to grow stronger, a Level Three Beast no longer posed a significant threat. Its annual autumn and winter hunts expanded their territory outward.
The younger mbers of the Wang family were no strangers to these Level Three Beasts if they had no special tasks and would join the elders every year in these hunts.
Moreover, their Spirit Food often contained the at from such Level Three Beasts.
Therefore, although they were cautious around Level Three Beasts, they did not exhibit fear as they would against mortal enemies.
"Fire arrows." At the sa ti that Wang Shouming gave the command, he notched a strong arrow and let it fly. His arrow, fueled with Fire Type Mysterious Energy, glowed red and left a long trail of fire.
The other disciples of the Wang family, as well as the heads of households, coordinated their arrows to fire too.
"Zing! Zing! Zing!" The arrows tore through the air, producing piercing screeches.
The Changning Wang Clan, when it ca to training its clan disciples, had always been all-conquering. Even Wang Shouzhe, the Clan Leader himself, would practice archery thoroughly. Therefore, could the younger generations dare to slack off?
Unlike the disciples at the Academic Palace, the family’s disciples emphasized coordinated teamwork and group combat instead of individual fights. The advantage of the bow and arrow was extrely obvious in team combat, especially during hunting, patrolling, and defense.
Profound Martial cultivators were far stronger than ordinary people. Upon reaching Level Five or Six in the Vital Energy Refining Realm, they would need a five-stone bow. When their Mysterious Energy was funneled into the arrows, they could even penetrate smaller chunks of rock.
As for Wang Shouming, Wang Zongyao, and Wang Hu, they used the Eight-Stone Strong Bows crafted from thousand-year-old iron-wood cores and third-level Fierce Beast tendons which could easily penetrate the toughest of iron armors.
This was why the "Shotgun," developed under the command of Wang Shouzhe, could only be equipped by non-Profound Martial clan soldiers. A slightly advanced Profound Martial cultivator could outmatch the "Shotgun" with just a strong bow.
Therefore, even a Level Three Fierce Beast with a thick hide and strong Mysterious Energy protecting its body was not imperable to weapons!
After the first barrage of arrows…
The Red-scaled Horned Python, writhing in pain, let out a furious hiss.
"Bang!"
Its tail smacked violently onto a shield wall ford by three of the household heads, forcing them to take several steps back, blood seeping from the corners of their mouths.
The shield, internally lined with iron-wood and externally covered with a Level Three Beast’s hide, had sowhat deford under the impact.
However, the household heads still held their defensive posture fast and steadfast, their eyes reflecting determination but no fear.
They were all among the first batch of household heads nurtured by the Wang family, chosen from the civilians, tenant farrs, and children of the side families in Ping’an Town.
Their ages were generally in their twenties, and their cultivation bases had reached the fifth or sixth levels of the Vital Energy Refining Realm. It goes to show how good their treatnt was with the Wang family, as the resources and training they received since they were children had surpassed most direct descendants of Rank 9 Prominent Families.
Because the "Clear the Fog" mission brought uncertain danger, Wang Shouming, heavily influenced by his conservative-minded Clan Leader, had prepared extrely well for this journey. He had hired a whole team of household heads, spending quite a number of Valor Points.
Aside from the most powerful, Wang Hu, the rest were at least at Level Five in the Vital Energy Refining Realm! This proved the strength of their overall forces.
Just after the first encounter, the Red-scaled Horned Python had already suffered a few significant losses.
However, things were far from over.
Wang Shouming and the other n imdiately threw out so seeds around the Red-scaled Horned Python. These seeds were part of the "Witch No.29," developed by Wang Shouzhe and part of the Witch Series.
The continuous evolution of the Witch Series also represented Wang Shouzhe’s relentless pursuit of progress in its developnt. The younger mbers of the family absolutely loved the Witch Series and would not hesitate to spend their Valor Points to exchange for quite a few of these.
Its greatest function was control! Once the enemy was controlled, it would be like a fish on a cutting board, ready to be slaughtered at will.
The seeds of the Witch Series contained a portion of Wang Shouzhe’s Mysterious Energy. Once activated, they could grow wildly, entwining around the enemy like the Witch’s Long Hair.
Although the red-scaled Horned Python was a "noble" Level Three Fierce Beast, it was not known for its strength. With the Witch’s Long Hair constantly entangling it, its movent was hindered.
The Wang family mbers, on the other hand, continued to retreat, with three household heads holding their shields to protect the group. The overall formation was simple yet effective, an easy formation gradually developed through the Wang family’s long history of autumn and winter hunting outside their territory.
Although Fierce Beasts were formidable, the spiritual intelligence of Level Three and Four Beasts was limited and predictable to an extent. It was only when they reached Level Five that their spiritual intelligence underwent a qualitative change, and only when they reached Level Seven could they speak human language and showcase extraordinary wisdom.
"Hiss~"
The Red-scaled Horned Python, furious and anxious, spewed out a ball of red venomous fla, its trump card. Whenever it clashed with other Fierce Beasts in the wild, it would often char its opponents till their skin blistered and their flesh exploded under the effect of the venomous fla attack.
