"Since you’ve admitted it, what else is there to say? Just tell us what the compensation will be and let’s be done with it!" The speaker was a handso young man in his twenties, his face marred by an arrogant, domineering expression. This was Ossido, grandson of the Grand Elder, Maureen. It had been just over a year since he graduated from the Imperial Academy, and he already held a key position in the clan. His own abilities were diocre at best; the crucial factor was his doting grandfather.

Having found success at a young age and hailing from a prestigious clan, he was naturally ostentatious. Ossido had always felt that *he* should be the clan’s first-in-line successor. ’Why should it be that wretched girl, Isabella? Is it just because she’s from the direct line of succession?’ He had always been resentful, and now that resentnt had morphed into monstrous jealousy. He, like most of the others, believed the person who gave Yisha the Elixirs only did so because she was the clan’s heir. If anyone else were the heir, they would have received the Elixirs all the sa!

This was the true reason for their uproar!

Fa and fortune are what worldly people spend their entire lives chasing. Few can ever escape the shackles of those two words.

Yisha glanced coolly at the young man and said, "Ossido, don’t you think you’re in no position to speak?"

"You... You..." Ossido never would have imagined that in just over half a year, the quiet, shy girl he’d never paid any mind to could change so drastically. Despite being assailed by nearly everyone, she remained perfectly calm and composed, and her words were so sharp! He was so furious he was rendered speechless.

Yisha, however, ignored him and argued her case reasonably. "The pressure the clan faced was borne mostly by my grandfather and . As for the rest of you, how much did you really endure? The noble titles you received were more than enough compensation. Now, the pressure is on the Huangpu Clan. What does this have to do with you? In this matter, it was I, and I alone, who brought a huge benefit to our clan. You... not only are you ungrateful, but you treat with this attitude. Fine. I’m done arguing with you. I will ask the Clan Leader one question now and let him be the judge!"

As Yisha spoke, a film of moisture finally misted her eyes. The young girl knew clan disputes were cruel, but she had never imagined they could be *this* cruel. ’If I hadn’t obtained the Beauty Pills, it probably would have been a long, long ti before I experienced this.’

Mosie was also getting a headache. Within the clan, although he was the Clan Leader and his word was law, he couldn’t just ignore the opposition of all the Elders. After all, he, too, was a mber of the Gandalf Clan. ’Those who oppose Yisha are really only after two things,’ he thought. ’First, the right to know the details, and second, a share of the profits.’

Regarding the first point, even Mosie himself was extrely curious: from whom had his precious granddaughter obtained such a miraculous Elixir? Although many suspected Ling Xiao, this was a baseless rumor that no person of wisdom would readily believe. Therefore, Mosie felt it wouldn’t be a problem even if she revealed the source; they could just issue a gag order. Anyone who dared to speak of it against the clan’s interests would be permanently exiled from the family!

Even if the person who supplied the Elixir had demanded secrecy, it would surely be for their own safety. However, human greed is endless, so even Mosie himself hoped to get that person under his control, making them serve the Gandalf Clan forever.

Still, he did love his granddaughter. After weighing the pros and cons, Mosie spoke.

"Yisha has the right not to reveal that person’s identity! I’m sure that in her shoes, any of you would do the sa! No matter how you look at it, it is better for you *not* to know this person than to know!"

The crowd below was about to erupt into an uproar, but Mosie swept a sharp gaze over them. His next words, however, made the small smile that had just appeared on Yisha’s face freeze.

"However, I believe the profits from the auction of these elixirs... should be split. At least half must go to our clan!" Mosie declared.
