Pei Ge only noticed the unique-looking bungalow within this secluded forest after Ji Ziming had placed her on the floor.
“What are you trying to do? Quickly untie me!”
As she observed her surroundings, the ominous feeling grew in her heart.
The room was clearly rarely used despite its cleanness.
From the cold ambiance, it was obvious that people rarely came here.
It did not feel inhabited at all.
“You’re noisy.”
The man looked at her deeply from where he was seated on the sofa after he set her down.
His gaze sent chills down her spine.
“What exactly do you want? As far as I’m concerned, I don’t think I’ve offended you in any way.”
She pursed her lips and stared back at him.
She could not figure out what this man was up to.
If she truly did something, then… she would not change, either!
“Yes. You’ve not offended me, but…”
The man looked at her plainly, yet his gaze was so deep and carried unreadable emotions.
“But what?”
She looked nervously at him, feeling that he was about to reveal something alarming.
“But Pei Ge’s offended me before.”
“!”
After he spoke, she paused, and shock flashed across her eyes.
“…What does she have to do with me?” she countered.
The man did not respond, though, and just stared deeply at her, like a beast eyeing its prey.
“Don’t pretend anymore. There’s no point in keeping up with the pretense.”
He stood up and walked to her.
“…”
She felt her breathing constrict as she watched him approach.
In the middle of instinctively avoiding the man, she… forgot that she was bound.
Thus, she tripped after backing up a few steps…
“Ah!” she cried out. Thankfully, the man had quick reflexes and held her securely in his arms.
His muscular arms wrapped her in an embrace just like that.
At this moment, two pairs of eyes met.
Perhaps it was from shock, or some other reason, but her heart beat wildly.
Thump, thump!
It was beating so fast that she was unable to ignore it.
“Pei Ge, I’ve run out of patience.”
Lowering his head, Ji Ziming’s face was a hair’s breadth from hers. It was as if he would invade her lips in the next instant.
“I’m done playing games with you. You’ve been on the run for so long. It’s about time… that you return.”
With that, he lowered his head and kissed her aggressively…
