“…Then, I’ll go there with you.”
Seeing the anxiety on her face, Ji Ziming pursed his lips and shot the other man present a cold glare.
This man actually had the free time to e here himself. It seemed that he needed to give him more problems to deal with.
“Huh? You’ll go there with me?”
Pei Ge was stunned to hear him say that. “I’m only going there to see Xiaoyu. Can’t you give me a little more trust?”
She thought that he did not trust her so he said that, but what he said next had touched her through and through.
“I’m only worried about you, and it’s not because I don’t trust you.”
His cold eyes were brimming with gentleness and concern as he looked at her.
Her heart nearly melted at that.
Touched, she looked at him guiltily.
This man trusted her so much. Actually, all along, the person who did not trust was her, right?
“Okay. Let’s go to New York together.”
She took a few steps forward and held his hand.
“My mother must be missing you, too…”
She smiled at him and thought of how happy her mother would be if she brought him with her for a visit.
“Mmm…”
Seeing the two holding hands intimately, Egger felt a dagger constantly stabbing his heart.
The woman whom he cherished and treated with care… just went into another man’s embrace like this…
Why… Why can’t she give me some of her feelings?
Thinking of his efforts all these years, his face became paler and the chilliness in his eyes became more apparent.
He controlled his emotions at once, and though he did not look well, he maintained the little smile on his face.
“Let’s go there fast as Xiaoyu’s condition isn’t looking so optimistic.”
He smiled slightly at the woman before him.
Pei Ge only realized that someone else was here when she heard this voice. She abashedly removed her hand from Ji Ziming’s, but the man would not let her and even held onto her tighter.
“Mr. Egger, you seem to be awfully concerned about Pei Ge’s best friend. You could’ve just called, but you actually flew here yourself to deliver this news.”
He gripped her hand tightly as he looked coldly at the other man.
Her eyes widened in shock, and she turned to look at Egger.
That was right. This guy could have just called, so why did he e over personally?
“I happened to be here to settle some stuff, so I decided to e over to tell you this.”
As the man said this in response, his eyes remained fixed on Ji Ziming. His voice was tinged with chilliness.
Upon seeing the two men staring at each other like this, she realized there and then that they were fighting over her.
She pursed her lips and looked at her beloved man warningly before helplessly eyeing the other.
Before, she intended to remain single for life after her relationship fiasco, but since she decided to be with Ji Ziming, she should make things clear with Egger…
