"I can’t. The person is using an anti-tracking device to hide his location."
"This doesn’t seem like Huo Siyi. He probably has some smarter person coaching him..." Gao Ran analyzed the situation.
They all grew up together. Even though they weren’t close with Huo Siyi, they still knew him from his behavior. They knew he was a stupid and reckless person. If he wasn’t, Huo Siqian wouldn’t have pushed him into the corner so easily.
Now though, he was careful. This didn’t seem at all like something Huo Siyi could think of.
"If Huo Siyi had brains like this, Huo Siqian wouldn’t have been able to chase him out of the country that easily..." Qin Chu said calmly.
"Do you think Shen Jiani came back too?" Gao Ran surmised.
"I’m not sure. After all, you guys don’t have a record of her entering the country."
"Boss, I got it... Mrs. Qin did go to the intersection at Tangshan Road. She also got into a black van." They had been able to locate Huo Mian through her phone records.
"Where did the van go?" Qin Chu and Gao Ran asked in unison.
"They went down a small crossing soon after getting on the highway. There aren’t any traffic cameras there because it’s a rural area... There are a lot of villages nearby... We aren’t able to pinpoint where they went..."
"Do you think Huo Siyi is hiding in one of the villages?" Gao Ran tried to analyze, though he was befuddled by the situation.
Qin Chu shook his head. "No, Huo Siyi is probably just trying to mislead us. The car drove there to get our attention but that place can’t be their final destination."
"Then what should we do now?" Gao Ran was now panicking too. There were no longer any clues to follow.
"We still need to investigate the abandoned factories in the western district and the slums in the northern district... Even if we have to dig three feet into the ground, we will still do it to find Huo Siyi."
Qin Chu held his fist tight. At that moment, he was overwhelmed with sadness.
Both his children and his wife were in the hands of the enemy. No one was more devastated than him.
Qin Chu had to calm down; only staying cool would he be able to save his family.
Time was slowing passing by... To Qin Chu and Su Yu, each second was painfully inflicting.
Very soon, Su Yu too arrived at the Municipal Public Security Bureau. He was going to join Gao Ran and Qin Chu in the investigation, planning how to go about the search.
- Back in an abandoned rural factory -
"Someone e!" Pudding shouted.
"What is it, brat?"
"I want to go to the washroom."
"You can pee inside the warehouse," the kidnappers said half-heartedly.
"No. I want to go poo-poo, not pee-pee."
"Just poo there."
"What? That’s disgusting. It’ll smell. We need to eat and sleep there. I’m not doing that..." Pudding was making a fuss.
The kidnappers were playing cards and they were annoyed by the noise.
"Dahai, take the brat outside to poop. Keep a close eye on her."
"Don’t worry. She won’t get away."
The man called Dahai then got up and opened the door. He led Pudding outside with him.
Little Bean sat quietly inside the warehouse... looking very posed.
Pudding walked out with the man. She was very alert, trying to look around to decipher where she was.
It was an abandoned factory. There were weeds everywhere and no one lived there.
"Okay. Just do it here." The man pointed at a piece of empty ground.
"Turn around."
"Hey brat, do you think I’ll take advantage of you?"
"You’re a man and I’m a woman. Hurry up and turn around... Don’t be such a dirty man and watch as a lady goes to the washroom..." Pudding put her hands on her waist and demanded.
The man didn’t even know how he should react upon hearing those words...
