"Ian... why are you here?" Rick knew that this face didn’t belong to Ian, but the voice did. Ian was known for playing games like this, disguising himself so no one knew what he really looked like.
Rick’s family was a well-respected mafia group, and his parents knew Ian’s family from way back. However, Ian’s methods were so inhumane that his brother stopped working with Ian when he took over the family business.
They were not really friends but they weren’t really enemies either. Strictly saying, they were old acquaintances.
Now that Rick thought about it, he hadn’t seen Ian in seven or eight years.
"I’m here for enjoyment... this is an interesting city." Ian smiled evilly.
Xixi looked at Rick’s expression and immediately realized that there was more going on. Therefore, she decided to keep her mouth shut.
Ian suddenly turned his head towards Xixi. Then, he asked Rick. "Are you playing around or for real? I thought you and Luna were engaged."
"That’s just a rumor," Rick replied icily.
"How interesting... how about dinner tonight, old friend? Are you interested?" Ian asked.
"No thanks, I’m not interested. We’re full, actually, enjoy your lunch, we’re going to go now." Then, Rick pulled Xixi up and the two of them headed towards the door. He seemed to want to get out of here as quickly as possible.
Rick was in such a hurry to leave and grabbed Xixi’s wrist so hard that it hurt.
"Okay then, that’s too bad... see you around." Ian smiled. He calmly watched as Rick and Xixi hurried out of the restaurant.
Rick didn’t realize how tight his grip was until they left. He turned around. "I’m sorry, are you alright?"
"I’m fine, who was that? Who’s Luna? You’re engaged?" Xixi was more confused than ever.
"That’s not important, Xixi, he’s really dangerous... I need to talk to Qin Chu." Rick knew that Qin Chu looked into Ian, and he knew that he had close ties to Huo Siqian.
Rick was shocked by Ian’s sudden appearance, and finally, he understood why so many brutal crimes had happened over the last few days.

Huo Yanyan arrived outside the president’s office.
"Miss Huo, could you please wait inside for a moment? President Shen is in a meeting." Shen Mingxi’s assistant knew who Huo Yanyan was, so she was very polite.
"It’s fine, I’ll wait."
"Would you like coffee or tea?"
"I’m good, thanks. I’ll just have a seat."
"Okay then, let me know if you need anything." The assistant led Huo Yanyan into Shen Mingxi’s office and then closed the door behind her.
She had been here a couple of times now. Shen Mingxi didn’t try to hide anything from her, and he treated her as if she were his wife. He had been very good to her.
Huo Yanyan had been thinking hard and decided to do what Mo Xue’er proposed. However, she hadn’t been able to contact her – Mo Xue’er wouldn’t pick up her phone nor reply to her WeChat messages.
Where was the medicine Mo Xue’er prepared? Was she supposed to poison Huo Siqian or not?
Huo Yanyan took out her phone and sent Mo Xue’er another WeChat message. "Are you there? I need to talk to you, I’m in."
She waited a few minutes but Mo Xue’er didn’t reply.
Huo Yanyan waited anxiously inside Shen Mingxi’s office. Without Mo Xue’er’s help, she couldn’t do anything. She was also worried that Huo Siqian found out what they wanted to do... Could he have killed Mo Xue’er already?

Mo Xue’er’s entire body was aching when she woke up. She blinked her eyes, the world swaying in front of her. "Where am I?"
