Pursuing Her Best Friend after Confession Failed Chapter 123 - 95: Be Good, Call Me Hubby, and Sign the Non-D
Just as Xia Zhijin was about to ask what he ant, she saw Li Yuan’s ambiguous smile and imdiately understood. Her cheeks reddened, and she buried her head lower, too shy to speak.
Li Yuan chuckled and reached out to take her small hand. "Let’s go have breakfast. The food at our university is quite good, though we can’t get the authentic chicken broth from my hotown or its fragrant, flaky pastries."
Walking through the campus with Li Yuan holding her hand made Xia Zhijin feel incredibly sweet, but also even shyer. This was the first ti he had held her hand in such a public place at school.
Listening to Li Yuan’s nostalgic sigh, she asked in a small voice, "Li Yuan, what’s that broth you ntioned?"
Li Yuan smacked his lips, his mouth already watering. "That’s a local delicacy. It’s a soup made from an old hen, and you pour the hot broth directly over beaten eggs. It makes for a fragrant and delicious thick soup. When the New Year cos, I’ll take you back to my hotown to try it."
When Xia Zhijin heard Li Yuan say, "When the New Year cos, I’ll take you back to my ho," her heart began to thump wildly, and a faint smile touched her lips.
"Mhm."
After breakfast, Li Yuan drove Xia Zhijin straight to the company. It was only about seven-thirty in the morning.
As they arrived, Li Yuan saw a man with a slightly balding head already waiting at the company entrance. He was Hu Zhenqiang, Li Yuan’s senior from the Computer Science Departnt at Daxia University—the unlucky soul who’d had an office romance, broken up, and then resigned.
Li Yuan valued his top general highly, so he went forward to greet him.
"Hu Zhenqiang, what are you doing here so early? I rember we set the eting for eight-thirty."
Hu Zhenqiang had been peering through the huge glass panes, assessing the interior of the company he was about to join and nodding to himself in approval. This company seems new, but securing an office of this size in the Longyu Building ans its strength shouldn’t be underestimated.
Startled by soone calling his na, Hu Zhenqiang turned and saw the man who had interviewed him yesterday approaching. He imdiately smiled and stepped forward. "Director Li, I’m used to getting up early. Since I had nothing to do, I just ca a bit ahead of ti."
"Getting up early is a good habit," Li Yuan replied with a laugh as he unlocked the company’s main door. "Co on in and have a seat. Once everyone arrives, we’ll hold a brief introductory eting, and then we’ll need to dive straight into work."
Hu Zhenqiang nodded. Looking at Li Yuan, he asked with sudden curiosity, "Director Li, may I be so bold as to ask what kind of ga our company is planning to develop?"
Li Yuan regarded him with a hint of suspicion, his first thought being that he was trying to pry for company secrets. He quickly dismissed the idea. That’s impossible. The company was just founded; no one is paying attention to us yet. He’s probably just curious.
"Regarding the ga we’re about to make, I have a rough concept," Li Yuan explained. "It’s going to be a groundbreaking, epoch-making ga. Once it’s complete, it will instantly reshape the entire global gaming market. But whether we can actually finish it will depend on all of your abilities. I certainly can’t do it alone."
Hearing this, Hu Zhenqiang didn’t scoff at Li Yuan’s boasting. Instead, his interest was piqued, and a glint of excitent appeared in his eyes. He was ambitious. He wasn’t afraid of Li Yuan having big dreams; he was afraid of Li Yuan playing it safe and aiming for small achievents. That would an my talents would go to waste, wouldn’t it?
The reason I chose the newly-established Datang Technology Company is precisely because it’s new. It has the potential to help achieve my grand aspirations and rub my success in the face of the woman who’d dumped .
"Director Li, I’m even more curious about this ga you’ve ntioned now," Hu Zhenqiang said. "To be able to change the standards of the global gaming market, as you say, it must be a true magnum opus. Just thinking about it is exciting..."
Li Yuan glanced at the energized Hu Zhenqiang. No wonder he’s already balding at such a young age. He must be the ultimate workaholic. Still, that’s a good thing. At this stage, the more of a grinder he is, the better. The ga I’m planning to develop will require us to work ourselves to the bone. Working seven days a week, day and night, will be the norm. Ti is precious. We have to fight for every minute and every second to release this ga before that other company does...
"Don’t be impatient," Li Yuan said. "Wait a little longer. Once everyone is here, you’ll all find out what kind of ga I’m planning to develop."
"Hehe, Director Li, I’ll be eagerly waiting then," Hu Zhenqiang replied.
In the office, Li Yuan plugged a USB drive into the computer and opened a folder containing his ga developnt plan.
The file was titled: Ga Developnt Plan for "Honor of Kings". He hadn’t called it League of Legends to differentiate it from the LOL that Riot Gas was developing. If they both ca out around the sa ti, it would be a bit awkward...
Li Yuan waved Xia Zhijin over. "Zhijin, please print out twenty-two copies of this docunt. Also, print twenty copies each of the employnt contracts and nondisclosure agreents I prepared."
Xia Zhijin approached the computer and printer but stood there at a loss, as she didn’t know how to use a printer.
Li Yuan smiled gently and leaned in close from behind her. He took a deep breath, savoring her pure, youthful fragrance. "Don’t worry," he said softly. "Give your hands. I’ll teach you personally."
Xia Zhijin shyly nodded and allowed Li Yuan to take her small hands and guide her through the process.
By about ten past eight, all the new hires had arrived. Since it was their first day, all twenty employees, including Hu Zhenqiang, were extrely excited and serious, hoping to make a good impression.
