Liu Jia was stunned and shouted, "Hey, hey, hey, Yuan! I was just kidding! Are you really going to ditch your bro like that?" He muttered under his breath, "Choosing girls over friends."

Wu Hao, standing to the side, curled his lip. "Liu Jia, you’re a dude. Why would Yuan sit with you? Wouldn’t he rather sit with a beautiful, sweet-slling girl?"

Xu Ziqiang exclaid in shock, "It’s infuriating to compare yourself to others. We’re still struggling with our studies while Yuan has already bought a house in Modu and achieved financial freedom. Given his current inco, he could work hard for one more year and then just kick back and enjoy life..."

Wu Hao was also incredibly envious. "Isn’t that the truth? And Yuan’s girlfriend is gorgeous—prettier than so female celebrities. She’s got goddess-level looks and could definitely be considered one of our campus queens. He’s got a house and earns a million a month... what kind of cheat code is he using for life? I’m so jealous I’m going nuts."

Yi Jing suddenly asked in a quiet voice, "I want to ask Yuan to teach how to write web novels."

Liu Jia’s eyes lit up. "Jing, you want to write novels too?"

Yi Jing nodded calmly. "Yeah. I’ve been reading Yuan’s ’Battle Starry Sky’ for the past few days. I don’t think the prose is that great, but the plot is very compelling. I don’t expect to make a million a month like Yuan. If I could just make a few thousand, or even ten thousand a month, that would be enough. I wouldn’t have to ask my family for money anymore and could even help out at ho."

Xu Ziqiang, Wu Hao, and Liu Jia all looked at Yi Jing, their eyes flickering with temptation. They were all students from a prestigious 985 university, so no one was dumber than anyone else. It stood to reason that if Li Yuan could write, so could they. Even if their results weren’t as staggering as Li Yuan’s, surely they could achieve a tenth, or even a hundredth, of his success?

"Liu Jia, Mouse, Qiang, do you guys want to write too? We could ask Yuan to teach us. I asked him privately last ti, and he said he would," Yi Jing said without any embarrassnt. His family was the least well-off in the dorm; they had to sell two cows just so he could afford to attend university.

If he could really use his spare ti to write novels and earn money like Li Yuan, he was a thousand percent willing.

Liu Jia said enviously, "Maybe we should all give it a try. If we could really earn a few thousand a month, life at university would be amazing. We could get a new girlfriend every month."

Wu Hao glared at him. "Liu Jia, seriously? Aren’t you in a relationship now? You two just got together yesterday, and you’re already thinking about getting a new one?"

At the ntion of this, Liu Jia’s expression beca awkward, and he stamred, "Uh, actually... I lied to you guys. When I chased after Wang Jierong the other day, I never even caught up to her..."

"For real? No way, right?" Wu Hao stared, his eyes wide with surprise.

Xu Ziqiang also exclaid, "Liu Jia, are you fucking with us again? The way you were acting yesterday, you didn’t seem like soone who ca back empty-handed."

Liu Jia smiled awkwardly. "Well, if you want to know if it’s true, you can just ask Wang Jierong, can’t you?"

Zhou Tianyu couldn’t help but curse, "Damn it, Liu Jia! So you were just bullshitting yesterday?"

Liu Jia gave a sheepish, uncomfortable smile. He really had wanted to succeed...

...

Li Yuan sat down next to Xia Zhijin and imdiately took her hand from under the table, saying gently, "Zhijin, I’m back."

Startled by his sudden action, Xia Zhijin’s face instantly blushed. She tried to pull her hand away, but Li Yuan held on firmly.

Xia Zhijin made a soft "mm" sound and took a bag with buns and a carton of milk from her backpack, handing them to him.

She lowered her head, glanced at Li Yuan, and said softly, "They’re a little cold. It’s been a while."

Li Yuan took the buns and milk. I already ate this morning. The words were on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn’t bring himself to say them. She’s a treasure of a girl. If I rejected her, she’d probably be heartbroken for a long ti.

He disregarded the fact that class was about to start in a few minutes and grabbed a warm bun, stuffing it into his mouth.

"Heh, Zhijin, these are delicious. I was actually getting pretty hungry. Thanks for bringing breakfast."

Xia Zhijin smiled happily. "Then eat slowly. Don’t choke."

Li Yuan gobbled down the at buns one by one. In just over a minute, he had polished off the entire stear of xiaolongbao.

Watching Li Yuan wolf down his food, a happy smile blossod on Xia Zhijin’s pretty face.

Just then, the professor walked in and began to take attendance.

Li Yuan leaned close to Xia Zhijin’s blushing cheek, whispering in her ear, "Zhijin, baby, did you miss last night?"

Xia Zhijin was startled by his closeness, and her face turned from pink to a deep crimson. She didn’t dare look at him, only giving a barely perceptible nod.

Li Yuan chuckled. "I missed you too." He loved how easily she blushed. She was so pure, so innocent, it filled him with the desire to protect her.

Xia Zhijin t Li Yuan’s gaze, hesitating, unsure how to begin.

Last night, after she’d called Li Yuan several tis and sent nurous ssages with no reply, she’d grown worried and anxious. That’s when her roommate, Shen Xiyu—who also acted as her love-life advisor and armchair strategist—had noticed. She still rembered Shen Xiyu’s words.

"Zhijin, I feel like sothing’s off with Li Yuan," Shen Xiyu had said. "Even if he’s focused on writing his novel, would he really go for four or five hours straight without a break? Staring at a computer for that long is exhausting, not to ntion the strain on your eyes..."

"Also, Zhijin, have you ever looked at Li Yuan’s QQ Space?"

At the ti, she’d answered naively, "What’s QQ Space?"

So Shen Xiyu had shown her, and they’d looked at Li Yuan’s QQ Space together. She saw all the comnts from the girl with the userna ’Love Eating Cilantro.’ But in her heart, she still couldn’t believe it... or rather, she didn’t want to.

"Zhijin, the relationship between this ’Love Eating Cilantro’ girl and Li Yuan is definitely not simple," Shen Xiyu had pointed out. "Based on her comnts, they’ve already t in person. Li Yuan even wrote a song for her..."

"Zhijin, I may have never been in a relationship, but I know that love is selfish. If Li Yuan truly loves you, he wouldn’t be flirting with other girls..."

"You’d better confront Li Yuan face-to-face. Ask him what his relationship with that girl is. Don’t let yourself be kept in the dark like this..."

"You and Li Yuan have only known each other for a short ti. You haven’t been dating for long, so even if you break up now, it won’t be too painful... I’m not telling you to break up with him, I just want you to think about this carefully for your own sake..."

Thinking back on Shen Xiyu’s earnest words from last night, Xia Zhijin felt a surge of panic. Now that Li Yuan was sitting right beside her, she didn’t know how to bring it up or even how to face him.

If all of this is true, what should I do?
