Now reading: Chapter 54 - 53: The First Thing to Do in College from Pursuing Her Best Friend after Confession Failed, a Drama novel by Life is as dazzling as summer flowers.

In the post, not only was the scene Liu Jia had just described captured, but there were also so blurry photos introducing the history of this third-year male student and the senior girl.

When Liu Jia saw the confession post on Tieba, he gave a sheepish, awkward laugh. It was only then that he suddenly rembered Li Yuan was using a laptop and asked excitedly, "Yuan, you already bought a laptop? What brand is this? It looks pretty nice."

Before Li Yuan could speak, Zhou Tianyu, who was next to him, introduced it. "Liu Jia, this is a MacBook Air from Fruit. It’s a pretty decent laptop."

Liu Jia had never heard of Fruit. After the college entrance exams, he had looked at laptops and was only familiar with brands like Lenovo, Asus, and Dell.

"Yuan, this brand of laptop can’t be cheap, can it? Does it cost six or seven thousand?"

Zhou Tianyu glanced at Liu Jia and chuckled. "Heh, six or seven thousand would only get you half of one."

Liu Jia exclaid, "That expensive? A single laptop costs over ten thousand? That’s ridiculous. Our annual tuition is only a little over four thousand."

"The living allowance my mom gave before school started was eight hundred a month. Even if I didn’t eat or drink, I’d have to save for nearly two years to afford this laptop."

"Yuan, what does your family do? Don’t tell you’re a rich kid like Tianyu."

Listening from the side, Yi Jing sighed inwardly. At least Liu Jia gets 800 a month for living expenses. I only get 500, and my parents have to scrimp and save just for that. That’s why I couldn’t pay Li Yuan back imdiately after he bought that 800-yuan four-piece bedding set. I just didn’t have that much money on . People really are different. And if you don’t have money, how can you even think about dating in college? Are you supposed to expect your girlfriend to support you? First, I’m not eloquent and get shy around girls. Second, I’m not a handso guy like Zhou Tianyu or a muscular man like Li Yuan, with an outstanding physique and looks that might let him live comfortably by mooching off a woman... With nothing to my na, what right do I have to pursue a relationship in college?

"It’s an Arican brand; it’s quite popular in Western countries." After speaking, Zhou Tianyu gave Li Yuan a deep look, his curiosity about Li Yuan’s background intensifying. The guy could afford a Fruit laptop, used a Nokia N95, and wore Nike and Adidas sportswear. While not luxury items, they certainly weren’t cheap.

Liu Jia chuckled slyly. "Yuan, can I latch onto you? I can offer the ’three accompanints’—I’ll accompany you to play ball, accompany you in gas, and accompany you for als. And if you want *that*, it’s not off the table either, you know."

"Get lost! My preferences are perfectly normal." Li Yuan felt a shiver run down his spine. For a goofy giant nearly 1.9 ters tall to say such things without a hint of sha was sothing else. He glanced at the fair-skinned, not-so-tall Zhou Tianyu and nodded to himself. Now *he* fits the stereotype perfectly.

Zhou Tianyu’s skin crawled under Li Yuan’s strange gaze. He quickly retreated three steps and frowned. "Don’t look at like that. You’re freaking out."

Li Yuan teased, "Heh, Tianyu, if you ever travel to a certain Southeast Asian country, you might want to consider it..."

Liu Jia eyed Zhou Tianyu with a lecherous grin and said wickedly, "Tianyu, we’ve been good bros to you, right? After your sex change, you could consider letting your brothers have the first go..."

Horrified, Zhou Tianyu covered a certain area and glared fiercely at Liu Jia and Li Yuan, cursing, "You two freaking perverts and lechers! Just wait ’til I’m rich! I’ll definitely take you to Thailand and let you experience what it’s like to bleed every month..."

***

On the first night in the Daxia University dormitory, Li Yuan slept soundly, but naturally, so people were sleepless.

In the girls’ dorm, Bai Weixi’s mood had improved considerably after hanging up the phone with Wang Yuchen. Looking at the special contact na for Li Yuan in her QQ, she opened their chat window, typed a ssage, and then deleted it. After repeating this more than ten tis, she heaved a sigh and finally gave up.

Numbly, she opened Li Yuan’s QQ Space. It used to be filled with posts about her and photos of them together, but now, everything was completely hidden from her. Bai Weixi didn’t know if Li Yuan had deleted the photos or just hidden them from public view. The latter would be bearable, but the thought of the forr made her heart ache all over again.

"Stupid Li Yuan, you always make sad! I really don’t want to talk to you ever again."

On the bed opposite Bai Weixi, Zhong Tingyue was also awake. She was on her laptop, scrolling through the campus Tieba and learning more about Xia University. Suddenly, she saw a post and couldn’t resist clicking on it.

"Bros, does anyone have info on this girl in the hanfu? I’ll pay 50 bucks for it."

The post included a photo from that evening. In the picture, a man and a woman were walking on campus. The girl was holding a bouquet of flowers and walking beside a tall guy. Because the photo was blurry, their faces weren’t clear, but from the looks of it, they were an attractive pair; otherwise, no one would have sneakily taken their picture and posted it online asking for information.

The guy in this photo looks familiar... He looks a bit like him. Could it really be him? An image of a person surfaced in Zhong Tingyue’s mind. They had just had dinner together today. Li Yuan had left a good impression on her, and as an old classmate, she was quite familiar with his build. It’s probably not him...

「The next morning」

The last two roommates had arrived, and the old-fashioned six-person dormitory was officially at full capacity. One was nad Xu Ziqiang, from Hubei Province. He wasn’t tall, about 1.73 ters and similar in height to Yi Jing, with slightly fairer skin and a tin foil perm. The other was Wu Hao, from the Land of Qi and Lu. He was nearly 1.8 ters tall, with a long, square face, a buzz cut, and a rather thick beard. He was another northern guy who loved to play basketball.

Li Yuan had gone to the office building he’d purchased early in the morning to coordinate the renovation work. He only returned to the dorm in the afternoon, at which point he invited Liu Jia, Wu Hao, and so other male classmates to play basketball. He had always loved basketball. Since his rebirth, he had played for over two hours almost every day.

Generally, in a n’s dormitory, if they weren’t talking about gas or sports, they were talking about girls. That evening, after dinner, the group slipped into a casual chitchat session. The topics were anything but high-minded. As for discussing dreams? Sorry, they were all adults now; talking about that felt a bit awkward.

They had all enrolled in the computer science major. What awaited them after graduation? They could either take the civil service exam to serve the people or beco programrs—growing stronger as they went bald, trading their hair for wealth. In any case, their major ranked near the top for employnt prospects, with skills applicable across all industries.

"So, guys," Liu Jia, the chatterbox, kicked off the conversation. "What’s the first thing we should do now that we’re in college?" He could get along with anyone and had a broad knowledge of all sorts of strange and interesting topics—gas, basketball, soccer, ani, you na it—but he had a peculiar constitution that made him shy around girls.

"My old teachers and all the upperclassn said the first thing you do in college is get a girlfriend," said Wu Hao, a very sunny young man who had a fair amount of "driving experience" and could get a racy conversation going at high speed. "You can’t keep working your hand so hard. It’s been toiling for over a decade; it’s ti for it to retire."

Xu Ziqiang chuckled. "I took a look around campus today. The quality of girls at Daxia University is really top-notch. Damn, brothers, we’re in for a treat. I just wonder how many girls are in our computer science major and what they look like."
