"You absolute fucking idiot!" Jai scread in frustration. "All you had to do was keep your head down and just go along with it!"
"And then what? Father would have allowed safe passage to the Wall?" Tyrion scoffed. "I'd be dead on the way there! So bandit would jump in and kill ! He would take no responsibility like he hasn't for all the murders he orchestrated!"
"You think I'm stupid to not think about that?" Jai snapped, pure fury rolling off of him.
Tyrion was slightly intimidated by his brother for it.
"I would have gone with you. I would have been your escort! And halfway there you'd have overpowered because I can't fucking fight with one hand and you had help in the guard! You could have escaped! Father would do shit to because he needed to further the Lannister line!"
"I-" Tyrion cleared his throat. "Maybe I had not thought about that."
"That's your problem! You think yourself clever but half the ti you let your emotions get the best of you and you don't think! Warning after warning but you thought you were clever! Look what you got yourself into!"
"I haven't done-"
"Don't you bullshit with that half-baked excuse" Jai snapped, "you'd do the sa fucking thing now to antagonize father over thinking bout your survival!"
Tyrion had nothing for that.
"When people you trust tell you to trust them, you fucking trust them because they have fucking plans in motion!"
Jai looked away with a look of anger and disgust. It was when he noticed all eyes on him. He was not surprised, he had been screaming.
"Show's over! Watch my brother lose his head now!" he snapped.
[KING'S LANDING, TYRION'S CELL]
[SER JAI LANNISTER and TYRION LANNISTER stand in the jail cell.]
"You threw your life away. You threw it away. It's not a joke. You understand that, don't you?"
"Of course, it's a joke, just not a very funny one. I couldn't-I couldn't listen to her standing there telling her lies. I couldn't do it."
"You fell in love with a whore."
"Yes, I fell in love with a whore. And I was stupid enough to think that she had fallen in love with . That deal you made, it was everything Father wanted. You do see that? He gets you back as his heir. The future Lord of the Rock. And he ships off to Castle Black, out of sight at last. All so perfect. It felt good to take that from him. He knows I'm innocent and he's willing to sacrifice anyway. He's willing to sacrifice any of us. Not you. You're the golden son. You could kill a king, lose a hand, fuck your own sister, you'll always be the golden son. At least I got to tell them what they really are."
"Yes, brilliant speech. They'll be talking about it for days to co. I thought you were a realist. Didn't realize you'd die for pride."
"I was a fool to think that" Jai snorted. Tyrion was as much Lannister as the rest of them, regardless of the shit he went through growing up. Pride before all!
"Don't give up on just yet. I survived one trial by combat, even though you weren't there to save ."
"I can't save you this ti either. My training has proved that I can't beat a stable boy with my left hand."
"Where's your sense of adventure? Even if you lose, imagine the look on Father's face when you fall. Our family na snuffed out with a single swing of the sword."
Jai snorted, this ti a little more lighthearted than the one from before.
"It would!" Tyrion exclaid.
"Fuck off" Jai rolled his eyes in good humour. There was no way he could stay angry at Tyrion for long, it had always been the case.
"Bronn fought for once, he'll do it again. If he wins, I expect I'll be in his debt for the rest of my life."
"If he fights for you this ti," Joanna said sardonically. "He's got himself a title now, and a station where he's paid. He knows if he fights for you, he loses it all. He won't be doing anything like that knowing how self-serving he is."
Tyrion knew that he'd seen enough of Bronn to know he would say exactly those things. And that worried him. Or maybe the greed of more could entice him to fight. Wealth was all that mattered for Sellswords after all.
"Will you find him for ? Who does Cersei plan on naming as a champion? I hope it's Ser ryn Trant. I'd enjoy watching Bronn disembowel that pompous child beater."
"It would be nice" Sansa mumbled. She too would love to see it.
"No. Not Ser ryn."
[KING'S LANDING BATTLE PIT]
[SER GREGOR "THE MOUNTAIN" CLEGANE gores a prisoner on his great sword, heaving him mightily into the air. Blood streams from his mouth as THE MOUNTAIN discards his body onto the sand. CERSEI LANNISTER watches.]
"Of course it's him!" Tyrion groaned. There was no hope now, Bronn would not fight for him.
[THE RIVERLANDS]
[ARYA and THE HOUND ride up to a smouldering farm. They dismount and explore the farm. They co upon a DYING MAN, who sits propped up with a gut wound. THE HOUND kneels down to inspect his wound. They speak and Arya kneels beside the man as well.]
"Who are you?"
"My na is Arya. Arya Stark."
"Is it a wise move to say your na like that? People are looking for you" Bran said with a frown.
"People are looking for Sansa. To them I'm probably already dead" Arya shrugged. "Besides, nobody is going to believe so old man who is dying. He might not live long enough to even say that."
Ned heard the conversation and could not help but be uneasy about how easily his children talked about death now. Their innocence was truly gone because of this.
"You her father?"
[THE HOUND shakes his head.]
"Her captor. Bringing her to her aunt for ransom."
Catelyn stiffened..
"You can't go there! Baelish will end up using you too!" Sansa screeched.
Arya rubbed her ear.
"No use shouting. My future self can't hear you."
Sansa huffed a small blush on her face.
[The man nods along before asking for so water. THE HOUND gives him a drink of water. A mont later, THE HOUND stabs the DYING MAN in the heart. He dies. THE HOUND wipes the blood from his knife on the man's arm.]
Nobody said anything, and nobody scread in outrage. They all knew it was a rcy to not let the man suffer longer.
[Suddenly, BITER jumps onto THE HOUND's back, shouting and biting his neck. THE HOUND throws BITER down, breaking his neck in the process. He turns to see RORGE, weapon drawn.]
"Aren't those the guys who were with Jagen?" Arya asked.
Jon nods.
"Guess they're free and out killing now. Probably were the ones to leave the man to die."
Arya made a disgusted and angry face.
[ARYA draws Needle quickly and pierces RORGE in the heart. He groans and falls. ARYA wipes her sword clean on his body.]
Ned and Catelyn were startled to see how easily and fluidly Arya had just killed the man with little hesitation on her face. Ned knew there was no second thinking when she did that, like a man who'd been fighting and killing for a while.
Oberyn's words ca back to him then, about how Arya was a natural... a natural killer.
