Now reading: Chapter 32: Definitely not from QT: I hijacked a harem system and now I'm ruining every plot(GL), a Yaoi novel by SofieVert01.

Jiang Yuxi's POV

Nothing has really changed since I found out about Han Li's sexual orientation.

If anything, it just makes wonder how I didn't see it before.

It's glaringly obvious.

The way she moves through a room with effortless confidence. The way won—so many won—gravitate toward her like moths to a fla. The way she looks at people, particularly at , like she's sizing them up, deciding whether they're worth her ti.

And then there's the way she looks at .

I occasionally catch her gaze lingering on my body. It's subtle, not the leering, possessive way n look, but focused, sharp, appreciative.

It's different—yet the sa.

And I definitely do not purposely wear slightly revealing outfits when I know she'll be around.

No. Definitely not.

Right now, I'm watching Han Li charm an older woman, lifting her hand to her lips in a soft kiss. The woman giggles.

Actually giggles.

I narrow my eyes.

It's always like this.

One thing I've realized is that Han Li is extrely charming.

Like it's a second skin.

She moves through these elite spaces like she was born for them, weaving between conversations, adjusting her approach for every person—flirty for so, professional for others, disarmingly casual for the rest.

It's fascinating.

I take a sip of my drink, reminding myself that I'm just here as a date—nothing more.

This isn't even my world.

This is Han Li's.

An exclusive yacht party on the Pacific Ocean, filled with powerful people from across industries. She brought here because she needed a date.

And I said yes.

Because... why not? Definitely not because I didn't want her to go with soone else.

"What a surprise," a voice drawls beside .

I turn, already annoyed.

Jessica.

She's in a stunning evening gown, her blonde hair curled elegantly, and against the golden glow of the setting sun, she looks gorgeous.

I still don't like her.

"I don't see how it's surprising," I reply coolly.

Jessica tilts her head, studying like a puzzle she can't quite figure out.

"Han Li usually brings the won she's seeing to these events," she says, lips curving.

My fingers tighten around my glass.

Seeing?

She thinks I'm—?

I don't back down from her gaze.

"Well, I'm here as a friend," I say smoothly. "I'm different from the other won."

Jessica scoffs, amused.

"Makes sense."

Just as I'm about to respond, a hand settles on my waist.

I stiffen.

Warm. Solid. Familiar.

"I'll be back in a few minutes," Han Li murmurs into my ear, her voice deep and dangerously close.

I manage to nod. "Of course."

Jessica watches the exchange with undisguised amusent.

"Jessica, behave," Han Li says, shooting her a warning look.

Jessica places a mock-offended hand to her chest.

"When have I ever not behaved?" she says, her voice dropping into sothing sultry.

Han Li sighs, shaking her head, and Jessica twirls a strand of her hair between her fingers.

"That's a different case," Jessica purrs.

Han Li chuckles before giving my waist a reassuring squeeze and walking away.

I hate how much I miss the warmth of her touch.

Jessica turns back to , lips twitching.

"Friends, huh?"

I stiffen.

"Yes," I say, offended at the scrutiny.

Jessica just hums, looking up and down.

"You must be right," she finally says.

"Despite the obvious attraction, you don't look like a girl who had her whole world rocked by CEO Han's fingers."

I choke on my drink.

What.

Jessica smirks, pleased by my reaction.

"It sounds like an exaggeration, but there really is a trail of broken hearts behind her," she muses, swirling her wine.

My mind is still short-circuiting.

"You too?" I ask before I can stop myself.

Jessica just grins.

"I got this far with my looks, body, and wit because I don't give away my heart," she says easily.

Before I can respond, she abruptly changes the subject.

"Anyway, heads up—that's Nancy."

Jessica subtly tilts her glass toward a stylish woman with a sleek bob and a designer black two-piece.

Nancy is walking directly toward us.

Jessica groans. "I'm not dealing with this tonight. Good luck."

And before I can process what's happening, Jessica vanishes.

What the hell just happened?

Nancy stops in front of , eyes flicking over in thinly veiled disapproval.

"Jessica, that slippery snake," she mutters, glaring at the blonde now chatting up a group of foreign investors.

Then, her gaze snaps back to .

"So, you're her," she says.

I lift a brow. "Her?"

"Yushi—"

"Yuxi. Jiang Yuxi." I correct, voice sharp.

Nancy waves a dismissive hand. "Whatever. You're the new one, huh?"

My irritation spikes.

"Enjoy it while it lasts," she continues, her voice dripping with condescension. "The only one of us that sticks around is that leech, Jessica."

My fingers twitch. Who does she think she is?

"Excuse —"

Before I can finish, Nancy shoves past , stumbling—

Directly into Han Li's arms.

Han Li steadies her.

Nancy clings to her.

"Han Li, what a pleasant surprise," she purrs, looking up at her through long lashes.

Han Li sighs, already exasperated.

She gently pushes Nancy away.

And that's my cue.

I walk straight up to them, wrapping my arm around Han Li's bicep.

"Who's this?" I ask, tilting my head.

Han Li doesn't even hesitate.

"An old acquaintance," she says dismissively.

She tries to move past Nancy, but the woman grabs her by the collar of her dress shirt.

"Han Li, please."

Her voice cracks.

Nancy's mask shatters.

"I've tried calling you. E-mailing you. You've blocked everywhere. I can't even see you in person anymore."

Han Li's expression hardens.

Nancy's hands tighten around her collar.

"Please, listen to . I know you felt sothing too."

Her voice shakes.

"Give another chance. I promise—I won't be so possessive. You can have other girls, I just—please take back... please."

My irritation vanishes, replaced by confusion. What was Han Li to her that she's willing to beg like this?

"Nancy," Han Li says, voice flat.

"You know that can't happen."

Nancy's breath hitches.

Han Li gently pries her hands away.

"And I already have a date tonight," she adds, her voice final.

"So please don't do this again. I won't be so polite next ti."

She guides away with a firm hand on my waist.

I glance over my shoulder.

Nancy is frozen.

Her lips part slightly, eyes glossy with unshed tears.

I feel... pity.

But not enough.

Because right now, Han Li is holding .

And I can't focus on anything else.
