Ning Shu held Yi Xiaodong’s hand, teaching him to write his new name.

It also needed to be a beautiful signature, placed in the lower right corner of his paintings.

Since Yi Xiaodong was a painter, he quickly learned how to write and sign his new name beautifully.

It was a natural talent, an instinct, unlike Ning Shu, who lacked any artistic ability.

Ning Shu wasn’t sure if this task could be considered a success yet.

Min Haochu now had heart failure, Ou Haoxuan had been in a car accident, and as for Mu Yeyao, the collision had likely caused him a rib fracture.

Ning Shu had clenched her fist, using her knuckles to strike Mu Yeyao’s ribs.

It was enough to cause him pain for a very very long time.

Since she hadn’t received a notification to leave this world, the task likely wasn’t plete yet—perhaps because the art exhibition hadn’t been held.

But organizing an exhibition wasn’t something that could be done overnight. It required a lot of money.

Many artists went their whole lives without having the capital to host an exhibition.

Artists who could afford exhibitions were often famous and wealthy.

So, it would take time.

Ning Shu didn’t know how long she would stay in this world.

After a while, some of the paintings Ning Shu had submitted won small prizes—mostly consolation prizes.

Others received simple “thank you for participating” responses.

Ning Shu wasn’t in a hurry. Some things couldn’t be rushed.

However, one of Yi Xiaodong’s paintings was selected as an illustration for a children’s book, and they earned a small payment.

Ning Shu helped Yi Xiaodong open a bank account. This was money Yi Xiaodong had earned.

Ning Shu couldn’t help but worry about the type of wife Yi Xiaodong might marry in the future. His mental state wasn’t fully developed—he was, in a way, a fool.

Most women wouldn’t want to marry a man like Yi Xiaodong, someone who seemed dim-witted.

Ning Shu hoped that in the future, Yi Xiaodong would meet a kind girl with whom he could share his life.

She then started worrying about what kind of man Yi Xiaotong might marry.

It seemed she really had too much time on her hands.

Ning Shu realized that she was enjoying this simple life. If new people joined their household, it would require adjustment, and that could bring a lot of trouble. ℟ÁƝo͍𝖇Ę𝒮

“Ding, task plete. Leaving the task world now. Transferring to the next trial task,” 2333’s voice echoed in Ning Shu’s mind.

Ning Shu let out a long sigh. The first task was finally over; only two more remained.

Ning Shu’s soul left Yi Xiaotong’s body. Her head spun, and she felt her soul merging into a new body.

This time, the merging process took longer than usual.

When Ning Shu opened her eyes, she couldn’t help but rub her head. Her head felt heavy and she felt extremely tired.

“From today on, you will be my contract beast,” a cold voice said next to Ning Shu’s ear.

Ning Shu looked up and saw a woman—cold and noble—gazing down at her aloofly.

Contract beast?

This time, she wasn’t human?

Ning Shu remained silent, assessing her surroundings. They were in a forest.

The woman reached out and lifted Ning Shu’s chin. “Are you still resisting?”

“Do I need to beat you again?” The woman lightly patted Ning Shu’s face. “Pretty boy, your looks aren’t bad.”

Ning Shu: …

Male!!?

Not human, male.

Goddammit—she was a man!!
