Chapter 3241: Why Was Her Life So Hard?

Ning Shu’s soul was weak right now, and this was a high-level plane—teleportation felt like she was being crushed.

Her soul felt like it had been flattened into a sheet of paper, then forcefully stuffed into a body.

Why was her life so hard?

Ning Shu opened her eyes and immediately started puking. The experience of transferring into this plane was worse than any other previous transfer she had experienced.

Could this be even higher level than an advanced plane?

While vomiting, Ning Shu felt someone patting her back gently and asking kindly, “What’s wrong?”

Ning Shu wiped her mouth with her sleeve and turned to see a man. He had sleek black hair, and seeing Ning Shu staring at him, his face turned red. “Nicole, are you alright?”

Ning Shu shook her head. “I’m okay.”

She looked around and saw many corpses lying around—strange animals with white scales covering their bodies.

Yep, there were monsters!

Ning Shu hadn’t received the storyline yet and didn’t know the world background.

“What happened?” the man asked Ning Shu.

Ning Shu waved a hand. “It’s fine, let’s rest for a bit.”

“Alright.” The man nodded and took out something that looked like bread but was not quite, and gave it to Ning Shu.

Ning Shu tore the bread-like item in half and gave a piece to the man.

The man looked at Ning Shu oddly. “You eat it. I don’t eat this.”

Seeing the man’s odd expression, Ning Shu wondered if she had mitted some taboo. She quietly gnawed on the bread.

The man patted her back. “Eat slowly, don’t choke. You just threw up, so take it easy.”

Ning Shu hummed in response and swallowed the rough bread, then began receiving the storyline.

This was a world of humans and weapons—and the man beside her was a weapon.

Ning Shu: …

This man was a crossbow, a long-range attack weapon.

Weapons came from a species that grew like fruit on a kind of moon tree.

Once mature, they were picked by humans and entered into a contract with them.

After contracting, both parties would have contract markings on their bodies.

Of course, the contract could be broken, and weapons and humans could also cooperate temporarily.

Weapons could take human form, but they ate a type of beast called a moon beast.

Weapons only needed to hunt this kind of beast to gain energy.

Some weapons could cooperate with humans to hunt moon beasts and feed.

Weapons could only be used by humans, and only weapons could kill moon beasts.

The two relied on each other yet also resisted one another.

Weapons looked down on humans’ weak bodies, but could only be used by humans to kill moon beasts and eat.

Although weapons could take human form, no one treated weapons as humans because they were a different species.

Weapons could enjoy things like humans, but female weapons couldn’t get pregnant, and male weapons couldn’t impregnate human women.

Ning Shu guessed it was reproductive isolation.

Also, weapons couldn’t taste human food because they had no sense of taste, and eating human food would negatively affect them.

They’d rust and bee dull.

That was why the man had acted strangely when Ning Shu offered him bread earlier.

Moon trees, moon beasts—no one knew why they were called that.

Weapons in this world were dazzling in variety—male, female, single, duals, multiples…
