Chapter 3349: How Could Someone Be This Obsessed with Romance?

Ning Rong pedaled to the school gate. A girl in a skirt saw him and quickly waved.

Ning Rong braked, one foot on the ground, and said to the girl, “I can’t take you home today. My sister is sick.”

The girl saw Ning Shu in the back seat with tissues stuffed in her nose and nodded. “It’s okay, I can go back on my own.”

“Alright.” Ning Rong pedaled forward but then turned back. “Or, you can wait here. I’ll take my sister home and e back for you.”

Ning Shu: …

How could someone be this obsessed with romance?

“Brother, by the time you e back, it’ll be dark,” Ning Shu said, her voice muffled by the tissues in her nose.

“Then don’t wait for me.” Ning Rong waved at the girl.

“It’s okay, I can wait for you,” the girl quickly said.

Ning Shu clicked her tongue. “I’m going to tell Mom you’re dating early.”

“Then get off now. You’re getting a free ride home, and this is how you repay me?” Ning Rong pedaled faster, the bike speeding along.

Ning Shu closed her eyes, leaning against Ning Rong’s back.

She knew she had a dream, but now she couldn’t remember anything.

Even in class, she couldn’t understand much of the lesson.

She was just an eleven-year-old child.

Some memories were slowly fading from her mind.

Ning Rong dropped Ning Shu off at the doorstep, turned his bike around, and rode back to pick up the girl.

“What happened? Why did you get a nosebleed?” Ning Shu’s mother pulled out the tissue from her nose.

“Be gentle.” Ning Shu covered her nose. But fortunately, there was no more bleeding.

“I’m taking you to the hospital for a check-up,” her mother said.

“Where’s Dad?” Ning Shu looked around the living room. It was quiet, with no sign of her father.

Ning Shu’s father worked at a small game development pany. He made decent money, and their family lived fortably.

“He took on a project and will be busy for a while. He probably won’t be home for a while. He plans to eat and sleep at the office.”

“Oh,” Ning Shu responded, her mind foggy. Game development—she should be able to do that, right?

“I want to see Dad. I want to help him,” Ning Shu blurted out.

“What help could you offer? More like cause trouble. With your level? You always fail math, yet you want to make games?” Her mother couldn’t help but tease.

“Oh.” Ning Shu scratched her head.

“I’m taking you to the hospital. I’m telling you, nosebleeds aren’t a small matter,” her mother said.

Ning Shu put down her backpack and kept flipping her small hands over, wondering why they were so tiny.

She rested her chin on her palm, waiting for her mother to change clothes and e downstairs with her bag.

Her mother wrote a note and stuck it on the fridge, telling her two sons to make their own meals because she was taking their sister to the hospital.

She went to start the car while Ning Shu waited by the door.

Ning Shu looked up at the sky, raising her hand and peering at the sunlight through her fingers.

“Ning Shu, get in! Hurry!” Her mother’s face was full of panic, twisted in terror.

“What’s wrong, Mom?” Ning Shu quickly got in. “You’re scaring me.”

“Your brother got into an accident. Your eldest brother.” Her mother drove straight toward the hospital.

Ning Shu clutched her seatbelt tightly and looked at her mother, whose eyes were red. “Mom…”

Her mother gripped the steering wheel so hard her knuckles turned white, pressing the gas pedal.

Her eyes were brimming with tears.

Fear and helplessness surged through Ning Shu. She turned her head and saw the traffic light was red. “Mom, stop! Stop!”

Her mother slammed on the brakes but stopped in the middle of the road. A heavy truck was barreling toward them.

Ning Shu’s pupils shrank. In her eyes, the reflection of the truck grew larger and larger.
