Furthermore, Ning Shu could clearly sense that the men and women in the fishing village were looking at her with strange expressions.

The men had a covetous look in their eyes, while the women were wary and pulled their men close. Sometimes, being beautiful was nothing but a hassle.

Ning Shu stood atop her dragon of energy and flew for a while, but then she turned back and flew back toward the village. As expected, she saw a group of people surrounding the doorstep of the grandmother and granddaughter, likely badgering them for items.

It was just as she thought. Luckily, she had taken back the gold coin earlier. Ning Shu had the bird on her shoulder transform into its massive form. Covered in flames, it blotted out the sun and let out an ear-shattering cry.

Ning Shu pointed a finger, causing the ocean to begin roaring. It formed a wave ten thousand feet high that looked as though it were about to crash down and submerge the entire village.

“I only stayed for a single night. Why are you demanding things from them? I did not give them anything,” Ning Shu said. Bullying the weak and fearing the strong was human nature. This grandmother and granddaughter were women with weak fighting strength and no one to rely on.

The foolish people immediately fell to their knees, begging for the god’s forgiveness.

Ning Shu said indifferently, “There is no telling when I might return. If I find out that you have harmed them…”

She left it at that, stepped onto the firebird’s back, and flew away.

The firebird let out a cry and flapped its wings to depart. Only when there is awe and fear will people refrain from acting recklessly.

Ning Shu decided that from now on, she would just find her own places to rest. Her face was truly too eye-catching. In an environment like this, her beauty was not a good thing.

Ning Shu began her cultivation while sitting on the bird’s back. After flying for a while, the firebird started its ‘vertical movements’ again. This stupid bird couldn’t even fly properly.

Ning Shu felt that this thing really needed to lose weight.

She placed her hand on the bird’s back and injected some spiritual energy into it. Only then did the firebird regain some spirit.

What a waste!

Whenever they encountered a place with mountains or rivers, Ning Shu would stop to look for medicinal herbs to refine wisdom pills. Ideally, she wanted to find some treasures as well.

To be honest, Ning Shu really wanted to visit Mount Olympus. There were bound to be treasures there. However, many gods lived on the mountain, so going there would be walking straight into a trap. Barging in like that would be seeking death.

As Ning Shu gathered herbs, she released her mental strength to scan the ground around her, searching for medicinal plants.

Some worlds had such herbs while others did not. If this world didn’t, the bird would be stuck as a simpleton forever. Without an IQ, its massive size and power would only draw unwanted attention. It certainly wouldn’t be as free as a tiny bird.

Looking at it that way, she had actually harmed this silly bird.

Ning Shu massaged her forehead.

She wandered around for a bit and found two types of materials. Likely because no one recognized them, they were quite old. The older the herbs, the better the medicinal effect.

Once she found one or two, the rest were easier to locate. At the very least, this world possessed natural treasures.

Ning Shu stored away the treasures she found and headed elsewhere. She wanted to find a large city-state. Large cities had temples, and with temples, she could learn about the current status of the gods—specifically, who had bee the king of the gods.

How was Zeus now? Was he still alive?

Zeus had previously overthrown his father’s tyrannical rule and imprisoned him in the lowest depths of the earth, after which Zeus became the all-powerful king of the gods.

Therefore, the previous great Titan king was either locked up or dead, transformed into some part of the world, like the canopy of the sky.

She wondered how Zeus was faring now. The struggle for royal power was always cruel.

Ning Shu collected materials for the wisdom pills along the way as she headed toward a large city-state. Eventually, she stood before one. The city walls were quite high, and she had to look up to see the top. It was quite a spectacular sight.

Soldiers guarded the city gates. Ning Shu wore a veil as she entered the city. She bought some food with gold coins and headed toward the temple while she ate. This city-state worshipped Hephaestus, the god of fire.

It was no wonder the city walls were so high and the buildings so majestic.

Hephaestus was the god of masonry, sculpture, and an exceptionally skilled blacksmith. He was one of the twelve Olympians.

The temple of the fire god was less of a temple and more of a blacksmith shop, plete with golden female robots that could speak and perform various high-difficulty tasks.

Hephaestus was the son of Queen Hera. Legend had it that he was born lame and ugly, but his soul and intellect were extraordinary. He was ingenious and full of passion.

The poor guy was also a miserable child. He was born too weak and sickly, so his mother Hera despised him. She threw him off Mount Olympus to rid herself of the embarrassment of having such a pathetic son.

He fell into the sea and was rescued and raised by sea nymphs. He even set up a blacksmith shop. Later, he reunited with his mother. Although he was ugly and disabled, he had a beautiful wife, Aphrodite, also known as Venus, the goddess of beauty and love.

However, the importance of appearance was a universal truth throughout history and across the world. Since his wife was so beautiful, he inevitably ended up being cheated on.

If you want to get by in life, you have to wear a bit of green.1To wear a ‘green’ hat means to be cheated on by your partner.

Hephaestus was a master craftsman and always forged beautiful, intricate items for his wife, yet Venus still had an affair with his own brother.

The fire god’s heart was full of bitterness!

The ugliest and most taciturn man on Mount Olympus had a wife who was the most beautiful and flirtatious goddess in the world, in charge of love and marriage. There were originally no roses in the world; they only appeared because of Aphrodite’s birth to represent love and beauty.

This was an excessive blessing of beauty. A blacksmith wearing a precious rose was destined to have misfortune lurking within his good fortune.

In fact, the most famous story regarding Hephaestus was the lush canopy his beautiful wife brought to his head.

He should have joined the ‘Little Green Hat’ public welfare campaign and simply chosen to forgive her. In reality, the couple parted on bad terms.

Aphrodite gave birth to the little god of love, Cupid. Cupid’s golden and lead arrows were both forged by the fire god.

Ning Shu bowed to the statue of the fire god along with the other worshippers and then asked a priest, “How are the gods faring now? I e from Athens and heard something happened. They say Athena was killed by the king of the gods.”

Priests could municate with the gods. Hearing Ning Shu’s words, the priest said, “Do not speak of the gods. Their affairs are not for us to discuss.”

Ning Shu had no choice but to drop the subject. She settled down in the city. When she wasn’t busy, she went out to look for herbs. Once she had gathered all the materials, she refined five wisdom pills for the bird.

She stuffed them all into its mouth. If its IQ was lacking, medicine could make up for it.

After being crudely force-fed a mouthful of pills, the firebird’s body grew unsteady. It began to fall into a deep sleep and tried to burrow into Ning Shu’s chest.

Ning Shu grabbed the bird and tossed it to the ground with a thud. What a pain. She didn’t even know if it was male or female, yet it was always trying to crawl into her shirt.

Tossed onto the ground, the firebird kicked its legs twice and fell fast asleep. It was likely digesting the medicinal properties of the wisdom pills.
